So then we got a new ATH prior to the 2024 halvening, yet it took until November before we meaningfully broke above $75k with the Trump pump... .. and maybe now we are finding out that Trump is not all what he was made out to be.
He's so much more than the alternatives, so we can't really blame him. We got the better option out of the two that we had. Democrats would ban Bitcoin if given a chance or try to co-opt it into full AML and KYC.

What's with this 72K weaksauce?

Almost like it's all a manipulation to get people to panic and sell before going back above 100K. Not falling for it.

Okay, the Binance fud. You guys been following this? I haven't really. But I do have something to say because you know how I am. Cool

It's a fear out there because Binance shut down withdrawals for a moment that they might be short Bitcoin.  And it sounds like there's a lot of interest growing in people withdrawing all of a sudden.. I think even the hashtag #drainbinance has been trending.

I believe withdrawals are back up, but these are the kinds of things you kind of hate to see.

And it makes sense that if people are withdrawing enormous amounts, which according to unchained analytics, they are, then Binance is going to have to unfreeze stuff and go through various security protocols to be able to provide the coins they allegedly have to their customers.

But one reason I'm posting this negative musing is that there are some of us here who have witnessed binance in particular doing things that smell an awful lot like being a fractional reserve.  There is no absolute proof, but there is plenty of evidence that as Binance it has run playbooks similar to this in the past.

Your friendly neighborhood Monero fanboys have watched it up close.  particularly because it's quite hard to do on chain analytics for that blockchain and therefore being fractional is much easier for an exchange.

During that period, binance would shut down monero withdrawals for great long periods of time, citing technical difficulties.  This was up until the point they delisted it with forced conversions to USDC.

But this is causing a lot of negative energy out there. People are terrified. What if we have another FTX?

Well, I'll tell you what if.

Good.  Bring it.

And, yes, this would probably have a temporary, very negative impact on Bitcoin's price, which we don't really need right now, but it would be temporary, because once you remove people who sell paper Bitcoin, then real price discovery begins happening again. We also saw that with Monero.

Or maybe Binance is completely on the up and up and holds coins one for one, like everyone else who claims that's what they're doing on paper.

Lol.

U.S. Treasury Confirms $15B Bitcoin Reserve!

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has confirmed the U.S. government's seized Bitcoin reserve, originally at $500M has now appreciated to over $15B.

This establishes a large U.S. government-held BTC reserve!

Have they given us the address at which it is stored? Don't trust, verify.

Also, please tell me that everyone in this thread (except for one notable exception) holds their own keys. If you still have sizable positions on any exchange, but particularly Binance...

Withdraw your damn coins!!

You stand to lose all of them if you don't, and you hurt the network by introducing unnecessary trust.

Actually, this information came from Secretary Scott Bessent's testimony before the House Financial Services Committee on Capitol Hill today, in the February 4, 2026 hearing, he addressed the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve while being questioned by lawmakers like Rep. Brad Sherman.

Mr. Bessent cited in the hearing a specific historical example where $500 million in retained Bitcoin (from a $1 billion seizure) has now appreciated to more than $15 billion.
He had previously estimated in an interview on CNBC the current total value of the federal reserve to be between $15 billion and $20 billion.

We don’t hit bottom until JJG & Biodom admit I was right and the four year cycle is real. We aren’t there yet. Maybe if we fall into the 50s? Hard to say.

I don’t take pleasure in the drop in Bitcoin’s value, but it is much easier to cope with when you knew it was going to happen and took precautions.

OT:

Some guys might consider researching and trying Glycine, a non-essential amino acid.
It lowers body core temperature, which is providing deeper, more refreshing sleep and burning depot fat. While you sleep.
Also, it's a precursor to Gluthatione and Creatin, which are repairing tissue and building muscle, also supporting the immune system in fighting against systemic inflammations (arteries, organs). Last but not least, collagen buildup in the skin is increased, which contributes to fighting wrinkles and rough, dry skin, as well as eczema.
Since about a week i took 5 grams in a big glass of water just before going to sleep every day. It has a sweetish taste, like the little brother of Glucose.
The effects are very noticable, especially when it comes to regeneration of the skin.
It's totally safe, and if you struggle to lose weight, have skin problems, inflammations or want to lose fat and support muscle buildup at advaced age, this might be for you.
The price is $15-20 per Kilogram good quality, so pretty cheap for what you get.

Check it out.

I played with nootropics maybe 10-12 years ago.
Stopped when the regular bright light felt a bit too intense...I guess my senses were heightened.
I tried glycine, but it did not do anything particular.
In addition, you could just eat a lot of glycine-rich food like beans...and rice and beans is the cheapest food with a "complete protein".
R&B might be needed after the recent bitcoin behavior  Wink

Yep, pretty clear the four year cycle is still alive. I sold some at 92k and then again at 121k. I thought we would go much higher though so didn’t sell as much as I should have (same happened for me in 2017 and then 2021 - impossible to get the tops though).

I will start buying back when we go below 55k and if we don’t get there then whatever, I still have a fat stack.
I take no joy in this as it works out a lot better for me financially if we moon but @JayJuanGee @Ambatman @Mia Chloe - you boys are going to lose this bet. Close to zero chance we hit a new ATH in Q1 2026.
