as soon as these vikes kick in i'll get back on it. Smiley

I'll be hitting the bottle later! Cheesy

make sure that shop vac is off 1st lol

saw a fire caused by a shop vac, someone set it up to suck water next to a hot water tank that had a leak, left it running while he left for the day and it turns out theres a ball float that hits that internal vac intake when the water level hits it so it stops sucking ("auto shutoff" lol) but it also starves the motor for cooling air. motor kept running with a blocked intake, overheated, stuff melted, power cord shorted, breaker tripped. and nasty foul plastic film and smell everywhere.

This thing is going to blow up for sure!

I have compressed air on one side of the hose and the shop vac on the other and the bearing is gone and that armature is going to come flying out the side of the thing!.

But my big one has a hole in the seam and will leak water so this thing is going to scream until it explodes or a i get the clog out!

I found the issue, the lines were worked on a few years ago and a bunch of black silt mud came out for awhile and that is what i have been getting out of the line.

The damn line it built in the wall and routed about 10 feet before it comes out under the counter and into the sink drain.

What a fucking pain in my ass.

Lol never even considered it could get clogged when installing it!

Only I could get a dishwasher drain line filled with sand, I swear you just cant make the weird shit up that happens to me.

Sand?

So do you have a sediment filter for the water that comes into your home?

Also do you have a well as they can have a lot of sediment.

I installed a Bosch dishwasher over 2 years ago and it's been working faultlessly ever since. All I ever do is scrape most of the crud into the garbage, never rinsing before loading with dirty greasy dishes. My wife says she occasionally cleans the filter. All the crap seems to magically disappear.

I drain it just below the trap of my kitchen sink and it seems to keep the drain clear with the strong detergents it uses. It's the only kitchen sink I've ever had that never needs to have drain opener poured down it.

Maybe it's the dishwasher detergent. I use what Bosch recommends, Quantum Ultra Power Balls, and they quite simply work. If it ain't broken, don't fix it.

Yes the Bosch costs more than the competition but I got a serious discount on the price at the time, lucky i guess. You get what you pay for. Spending more at the onset is how you save big time in the long run.

Silt yes its well water but comes from the county water authority.

I have the filter on the hot water side. Didn't think I'd need one on the other side, never had issues until they redid the lines and was told it would go away in a few days.

So I put one on the hot side just in case, guess i need to put one on the other side, so much for being lazy. Smiley

Now that i'm thinking of it, the dishwasher only uses the hot side so the silt must have been in there since I put the filter in.

I think I did that about a week after they did the lines.

if I talk about my dishwasher I will put the kiss of death to it.

11 or 12 years old flawless.  Use it every day so over 3500 loads done with it.

So lets see how long before it breaks.

Spent 700 and change usd  in 2014 or 2015.

I have lived here since 1992.  counting the original it is the 4th one.  pretty much 1 load every day

so 365 x 33 =12,045 loads done. on 4 machines.

Silver sank a bit.

I wonder if this will be a lower week.

Don't see much of a rally. Coming any time soon.
