I'm not liking this price action.  Not sure I can even afford cheap ramen anymore... can we subsist on air and determination and if so, for how long?

But you must. It's going to be ramen sachets + water for the next 3 years, 5 months, and 4 days, according to my calculations.

Been gone a while, unfortunately real life hasn’t been amazing of late. Mrs.GreyHats passed away suddenly and very unexpectedly  Angry  Cry

If you see your loved one today take a minute to say something nice to them cos ya never know when you can’t.

I took a break from here so got some reading and catching up to do, thankfully 1btc = 1btc!
I'm very sorry about your loss, I know how it feels to lose a loved one, take heart mate, may God grant you the fortitude to bear the loss and may her soul Rest in peace.

What would cause a person to do something like this?

https://finance.yahoo.com/markets/crypto/articles/bitcoin-news-today-unexplained-8m-090747314.html

possibilities:

1. dying with no heirs and respects only bitcoin, not any charity.
2. don't care at all any longer (after accumulation), want it all gone, but "respects" the protocol.
3. no way to use it where he/she lives.
4. did it just on a whim while being drunk or sad...has lots more...just wanted to feel some "pain".
5. divorcing and wanted to cut his/hers partner 'take'.
6. general insanity.

 Maybe they weren't his.

yeah angry at someone and fucked them bigly does come to mind

If you can't buy now then don't blame Bitcoin for not making you rich after year or two.

After 1 year bought at 100k hopping btc makeme a RichMan....

If you bought Bitcoin at 100k then you are already a rich man who want to increase his wealth.

and keep buying at 70k around...

Thats a nicer approach but at the same time needs balls because most people discussing 40k or 50k at that price.

RIP Mrs.GreyHats.

This is sad reality of life which we all can't deny.

What we can do is spend time and do best with our loved ones as much as we can.

The first thing that came to mind when I read this story was that it had to be a dead man’s switch or some other method that required action by a certain time or else the funds would be obliterated. Perhaps something like a breakup fee or lost deposit as a result of a failed business arrangement. I don’t think someone burns it out of spite.

Merited by JayJuanGee (1)

We talk a lot about Saylor's stack.
And sideways chop has turned the thread into a mix of AI tech talk.

And ChartBuddy is on its way.
But the beauty of Bitcoin is that the macro picture never changes based on daily order books.

This boredom is just the calm before the supply shock.
Sit tight.

"Supply shock."

That is an interesting concept.  In theory.

Fair enough, theory is boring. But everything about Bitcoin was just an "interesting concept in theory" until it survived 17 years and hit trillion-dollar market caps.

In Bitcoin's world, today's "interesting theory" usually has a funny habit of becoming tomorrow's "I wish I bought more under $100k" reality. That's why we sit tight.

This is absolutely devastating to read.

Words completely fail at times like this. I am deeply sorry for your sudden loss, Greyhats.
