Gate A — veto v2 (title level), assess_btc_relevance:
- Literal altcoin name + comparison frame ("outrun", "versus", "rotate into", "against", "trail", "lag") → veto even when "Bitcoin" appears in the title, unless Bitcoin is the actor (protocol vocab, buy/hold/ETF/flow/regulation verbs).
- The leak title, "Privacy Coins Outrun Bitcoin…", now dies with drop reason altcoin_title_veto — the existing drop path picks it up automatically since the reason string carries the same editorial-rule prefix.

Gate B — benchmark-anchor evidence gate:
- Evidence matching "bitcoin's October 2025 peak" / "reached its record above $126,000 on Oct. 6, 2025" — a dated peak bound to bitcoin via possessive or since/from/against — is discarded as evidence, not the story. The verdict falls through to the body-quantity rescue path, so a story with genuine BTC facts in the body still survives at secondary (verified: E3 passes).
- This one matters beyond the leak: the anchor sentence is exactly what aggregators quote to launder a sector story, because it's always true, always grounded, always BTC-denominated. It was structurally unbeatable by the existing gates.

Verification:
- 18/18 in tests/test_veto_v2_anchor_gate.py, run against the real module. Also: VERSION bumped to v1.6.0 (separate commit, per your versioning rule), insight stored in mnemosyne (b897553bfe6fff76), and Gate C left alone as agreed — the aboutness floor waits for more evidence.

One honest caveat: two probe phrases I tried mid-development are shapes gate B doesn't match ("bitcoin's october 2025 peak" without a direction word like since/from preceding it — the possessive branch needs the since/from/versus lead-in). If a leak ever ships via a bare possessive anchor with no directional preposition, that's the gap to widen first. The tests encode the current boundaries, so a future correction starts from a clear picture.

I think the Clarity Act has less influence on Bitcoin's price than people want to believe.  I even think there's a case to be made that the Clarity Act is bad for Bitcoin, but what do I know...  I think it is a lose-lose situation.  If it passes, it is a sell the news event and if it fails it is a catastrophic slap to the face of crypto and likely will cause widespread selling.  So $50K or $70K is probably better targets for if it passes or not.

One thing that actually does matter to Bitcoin and has potential to send the price skyrocketing upward is the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve, which may be taking another step forward this week as it gets a committee markup from the Financial Services Committee on Wednesday morning.  Bitcoiners are watching the wrong regulatory development right now for some reason...  Ethereum and Solana are the big winners in the Clarity Act...

It is evident that investors always latch onto whatever is most hyped in the media; aside from Clarity Act, there is practically nothing else that could fuel a bull run - even if it has little to do with Bitcoin. As far as SBR is concerned, that also seems to me to be a hollow story considering that the US adds new BTC to its reserve exclusively through confiscations, so why buy if you can get it for free?

Confiscation only works until the easily seized coins run out. If governments actually want a strategic reserve that matters, eventually they’ll have to compete in the open market just like everyone else.
