I have a buddy that got busted for weed a few years ago. the NJ state government grabbed 3 coins from him. maybe 3x1k at the time or 51k.  They spent far more than 51k to catch him. Plus they raided his house when it had 1.1 oz of pot the least amount he had in the least year.

He lost the weed the coins and his drivers license . They state sold the coins for 47k.

A lot of USA coins grabbed by feds are the result of large expense operations.

Oh pot is fully legal in the State of NJ. and if my friend was to get a lawyer and pay about 20k he would be able to drive again and he would be able to open a pot store to help make up for the dumb ass shit the government did to him.

What I don't get: was pot legal back when they did him? If it was, what did they have (or thought they had) him for?

Not clear on my  part.

It was not legal when he got busted.

Which was my point many government laws are just a way to rob us. They rather do it via tax then crime when it comes to pot. They

decided it was cheaper to make it legal and tax.

This is what they want to do with btc keep it legal and tax.

Robbing btc via confiscation is very costly. Taking some via taxes is easy.

I have a wee bit of trouble figuring out how you would be able to meaningfully recover some of the historical pictures, since it seems that so many of them are either gone or out of context (laborious to place as compared with just being able to browse through thread posts - and yeah, currently few pictures and difficulties to easily get the sentiments, when the pictures are mostly not there).

This few-years-old thread got bumped in Meta recently, I've been meaning to try it out, but haven't had time. Idk if works or not, but filippone could be using it to help him recover old images that are proxy errored. Idk if he is using something like this, or this exact thing, or not.

Interestingly, Musk said that this was going to be for manual driving. I don't see how it would work without a lot of computer input.

0-60 is ~2.7 Gs. yeah. just the thing to nip off to the packie for some smokes with.

space shuttle was ~3 Gs

so stomp on the gas and wham! the G forces knock me unconscious. whats not to like?

Manual driving at 2.7 Gs sounds like a very short hobby.

I don't think they care too much about taxes anymore. They just print what they want. Taxes is just to keep us all onboard with the green paper.

Not to mention, any humans or lifeforms that happen to be under those thrusters when activated, is gonna die a terrible death.

I don't think it will ever get the OK for human transportation on ordinary roads. I don't even want to think about energetic efficiency. Lift 2+ tons for a 5% payload? It looks like a gimmick.

It's Elon Musk. Of course it's a gimmick.

As an OT, I would say this: this is such a one-sided position based just on the historical record: is selling more than one and half mil of electrical cars a year a gimmick OR is the Spaceship a gimmick?

If it is to you, then I suggest to get a grip on reality, pronto.

I got busted for growing weed in 2015. My home got raided and they confiscated all my electronic devices, including my PC, with a bitcoin core wallet containing a decent amount of btc.

I fought it in court and actually got it back, since it had nothing to do with my "crime". I did however had to spend more than a year behind bars. Crazy times.

He bought the car company, duh and is running it into the ground.

Without taxpayer money SpaceX wouldn't exist.

The list of shit he's promised is so long its not worth reiterating, the guys a fucking car salesman that got lucky being a nepo and getting a massive influx of cash when those he worked with got rid of Him and renamed and saved paypal.

Do you even have a clue to his actual history?

Not the rewrite he keeps trying like writing himself in as a founder of tesla.

the boy is the definition of failing upward, couldn't even not lose money on twatter.

Only thing he excels at is finding tards to buy his manipulated stocks and meme coins.

A one-sided narration, but I'll give it a shot:

"he bought the car company"...yeah, when it was close to nothing...you don't think there was some value add since?
"without taxpayer money SpaceX would not exist"...well, I'll turn it around and say that without Elon, Space X would have been a size of the Rocketlab, or may have bitten the dust a long time ago.
"nepo"? this is f-g hilarious. The guy was/is among the few things the only thing that stands against a complete industrial domination of US by China. Others had sell us off by the parcel.

Oh, well, let's just agree to disagree. I am buying Space X slowly (using available cash, not btc)...we shall see if I would make money in the end.

Imagine what it’s like to see the richest, most successful, and arguably most powerful man in the world, who saved free speech, builds awesome products, and is working to advance humanity while sleeping on factory floors and living in a trailer… and your response is to talk down his accomplishments. What kind of person does that?

One thing I just thought of wrt Musk's stunt...

Junctions are the big tricky part of driving and road design. The ideal layout for many situations would be north-south roads at one level and east-west roads at another (and ideally pedestrians at yet another). The problem is that real life intrudes and cars need to change direction which leaves you a problem of where to install the junctions. With cars like these (and AI traffic control), that is not an issue. The car simply leaves the roadway, accelerates to the new direction and then rejoins the appropriate roadway.

Now admittedly, that's likely a completely insane idea but something I pondered once long ago.

Manual driving at 2.7 Gs sounds like a very short hobby.

Reaction time would be your worst enemy and then trying to move your arms, legs and feet as you thought you could under normal driving might be your second worst enemy.  Otherwise, your body can take a lot more horizontal g-force than it can vertical.  You lose consciousness when the blood leaves your brain so as long as you aren't doing loop-de-loops, you'll be fine.

I remember riding the Rotor at Kennywood when I was younger.  You stood against the wall in a cylinder as it rotated you got stuck to it as it rotated faster and faster and then the floor dropped away - it was very difficult just to lift your arm off the wall.  That day, I fell in love with physics.
