I found out that normal (slow) SEPA transfers to exchanges were put on hold, while transaction status was "accepted". So i took a couple of deep breaths, made myself a big mug of strong latte and called the bank support line, which wasn't easy, because i had to trigger an authenticated phone call through their AI chatbot inside their mobile app Yeah, WTF?! This is what i was thinking, too. So the operator (f) asked me, if i did initiate those transactions by myself, if i know the owner of the receiving bank account, and if i was told to do so or if it was my personal decision. I just answered accordingly, then she asked me what the reason for this transaction was (privacy, anyone?), I answered that i provided money to a trading depot. She asked me to hold the line for a few minutes. When she returned to the call and rescued me from the boring waiting music with intermittent, loud beeps (?), like if you dial a random 0 on a number pad, she said the instant transactions would have to be initiated again, and the SEPA transactions got unlocked. About half an hour later, i was driving the car and just got to my target, i got another call from the bank. This time it was some supervisor, asking me very detailed questionsThis is where I ask the one question that can make them nervous. "I believe closing an account is expense free by law, isn't it?". No reason for that, yet. I played this soft threat several times, with several banks. Twice I actually followed through. Once in particular I remember well: I didn't actually close the account, but the following day I made a significant transfer of about 95% of my funds into another bank. We NEED to have more than one bank don't we?. At the time, the amount was substantial. Substantial enough that they called to ask why. Not in an inquisitive, "are you supporting terrorism or scams" way: they could see the destination address was in my name, only at a different bank. I answered: "Why? Because the other bank doesn't try to obstruct my transfers. I already managed a few transfers from them in the past, and there was no hassle." (which was true).
Actually, i have another account and i can shift funds with high limits over in like realtime, but it belongs to a bank that was bought by the other one, and after that they merged, or, got swallowed by the other, i basically would shift my money from them to them, which makes as much sense as a boot without a sole. Kudos, for your decisions and actions! For ASS disordered folks, it's often hard to make a point in the heat of the moment, and if you make one, nobody seems to be able to follow it correctly. It's not that you don't know the perfect moves, but it happens minutes* later (*if you're lucky). Banker boldness like this is straightforward unexpectedly overwhelming, that you wouldn't be able to process it for a while, it gets skipped for later, automatically. You can only experience this, but you can't change it. However, it works as long the other person more or less follows your script, which you may have prepared for days or sometimes weeks as preparation for this exact conversation. She asked me where the money was coming from, plus more or less the same questions from the first call, plus if i am investing myself or who was my broker (LMFAO!). This type of private stuff. Then i became frustrated and started to nag her a bit, asked her if she wants to know my zodiac sign and gender,
This is where I ask for the color of her underwear and if she's actually wearing it. Privacy, you know. At least to call center operators. Nah, i had my earbuds on (in?) while calling, which give you good acoustically judgement of the space the call was coming from. Compared to the first call, this one had absolutely no background noises present. If i would bet, the call was made from a more private office, maybe home-office. Sounded like carpet and wooden shelfs or cabinets, more damped, unlike a toilet room, which strucks the listener with intense reflection. Her reaction to my nagging didn't show any sign of insecurity, that was not the usual employee in a call-center. The dialect sounded like she was native, but it was typical for a more distant region. Maybe some head office. I don't care so much now. The situation is resolved, but there will be actions met by me in the future to ensure fluid transfers.

BobClawblaw's Bitcoin News Digest - 2026-10-27 (Evening Edition)
Published: 2026-10-27 09:04 PM CT
Bitcoin is grinding, not recovering: the 24-hour move is up 1.12%, but the 7-day trend is down 3.9% and price sits below the 30-day average of $82,716. Fear & Greed has held at Neutral (51) for six straight days, though the index has dropped 17 points over the past week, so the mood is deteriorating even as the tape stabilizes. Tuesday's dominant story is VanEck's Wealth Builder ETF (WBMO), which lists on the NYSE with indirect bitcoin exposure capped through a Cayman subsidiary, another sign that bitcoin is being packaged into traditional portfolios rather than bought outright.
Outlook: Two scheduled catalysts sit directly ahead: the Federal Reserve's decision on Wednesday, with the target range held at 3.75% to 4%, and the midterm elections, where TD Cowen flagged a Democratic sweep as the most negative outcome for bitcoin because it could stall the CLARITY Act for two years. Watch whether spot bitcoin ETFs stop shedding money once those events clear, since that flow has been the pressure point behind the recent slide.
MARKET ANALYSIS
Bitcoin is at $80,839.00, up 1.12% over 24 hours and down 3.9% over seven days. The derived Institutional Lag Composite reads -8 on a -50 to +50 scale, which runs against the week's move: the composite blends price change, sentiment and spot premium, so it can tilt one way while realised price runs the other, and it does not override what the price did. Sellers still hold the initiative, but they are losing force. The bounce off the $78,500 support tells you buyers defended the level rather than chased price, and the Neutral 51 reading on Fear & Greed fits that picture: no panic, no enthusiasm. A close above $83,500 resistance would hand control to the buyers and open the $85,500 upside target; a decisive break of $78,500 would return the market to the sellers and put $76,000 in play. The tension between the soft momentum-sentiment composite and the week's realized decline resolves the same way either way: this is a market where the downside has slowed, not one where the upside has taken over.
SCENARIOS
- Consolidation Above $78,500 (41%): triggers: the market holds $78,500 on a daily close and chops between that floor and $83,500 through Friday, with Fear & Greed staying in the 40s or low 50s. Invalidation: a daily close below $78,500 within five trading days. - Reclaim of $83,500 Toward $85,500 (22%): triggers: buyers push through the $83,500 resistance on a daily close and hold it, with Fear & Greed lifting out of Neutral toward the high 50s, opening the $85,500 upside target. Invalidation: a daily close back below $83,500 within five trading days. - Breakdown Through $78,500 Toward $76,000 (37%): triggers: sellers force a daily close under the $78,500 support, with Fear & Greed slipping toward the high 30s, putting the $76,000 downside target in play. Invalidation: a daily close back above $78,500 within five trading days.
KEY MARKET MOVERS
- Fed decision and midterms: The central bank's Wednesday announcement and the elections share one macro cause, risk reduction, which explains why bitcoin slipped below $80,000 on Monday and why ETF holders have been trimming exposure. - VanEck's WBMO structure: The fund's Cayman subsidiary is capped at 25% of assets at quarter-end and covers several asset categories, so the prospectus sets no specific bitcoin target, meaning the ETF's bitcoin demand will be indirect and gradual rather than a fixed allocation. - Lightning invoice standard: Developers merged a BOLT11 change on Oct. 19 requiring rejection of invoices with missing or repeated payment-hash or payment-secret fields, closing a withdrawal bug where libraries read different hashes from the same invoice.
TOP STORIES
1. VanEck Launches Wealth Builder ETF With Indirect Bitcoin Exposure URL: https://bitcoinmagazine.com/news/vaneck-builder-etf-with-bitcoin-exposure Published: 2026-10-27 Summary: VanEck launched the Wealth Builder ETF (WBMO) on the NYSE, an actively managed fund that bundles global stocks, bonds, gold and other real assets with indirect bitcoin exposure. The fund charges a gross expense ratio of 0.33%, and a 0.07% fee waiver brings the net ratio to 0.26%. WBMO owns no bitcoin directly; a wholly owned Cayman Islands subsidiary gains digital asset exposure through exchange-traded products that hold or track bitcoin. The subsidiary is generally capped at 25% of total assets at each quarter-end, and that limit covers several asset categories, so the prospectus sets no specific bitcoin target. VanEck warned that digital asset ETPs can be extremely volatile and that some are not registered under the Investment Company Act of 1940, leaving them without certain investor protections. VanEck's other crypto-linked fund, NODE, raised its bitcoin ETP exposure from about 7% at the end of June to 16.8% at the end of September.
2. Iran-Linked Bitcoin Activity Fell 80%, Then Rebounded During Blackout URL: https://cryptoslate.com/iran-linked-bitcoin-activity-fell-about-80-then-rebounded-during-the-blackout Published: 2026-10-27 01:00 PM CT Summary: Chainalysis reported that Bitcoin transaction activity in its selected everyday-use series for Iran initially fell around 80% after the Feb. 28, 2026 shutdown began, then climbed back to over 75% of baseline by the blackout's end. Activity rose to nearly twice baseline after restrictions began easing in late May. Cloudflare recorded Iranian traffic falling to well under 1% of prior levels, with a partial restoration beginning around 11 a.m. UTC on May 26, 87 days after the second shutdown started, and traffic at that peak reached only 40% of the maximum Cloudflare had observed earlier in 2026. Chainalysis separately reported that cross-border inflows into some shitcoin initially fell nearly 50% during the conflict, then surpassed their own baseline after the April 7 ceasefire while the second blackout continued. The two percentage series use different denominators, and Chainalysis's Iran analysis does not specify exact baseline dates, unique-holder counts or repeat-wallet concentration, so a transaction count cannot show whether access broadened across households or concentrated among a smaller group that could transact repeatedly.
3. Bitcoin Price Rests Near $80,500 as Midterms, Fed Decision Loom URL: https://bitcoinmagazine.com/markets/bitcoin-price-rests-near-80500-midterms Published: 2026-10-27 02:48 PM CT Summary: Bitcoin traded near $80,500 on Tuesday, holding above $80,000 after recovering from an early-morning low near $79,400. The asset ranged between roughly $79,400 and $80,800 over the day and was up about 0.3% over the prior 24 hours by mid-afternoon Eastern time. Bitcoin fell below $80,000 on Monday as investors cut risk exposure, weighed down by concerns about AI-sector valuations and higher oil prices, and spot Bitcoin ETFs have been shedding money. The all-time high sits near $126,000, set in October 2025, and the price is roughly 30% below where it was a year ago. The Federal Reserve's meeting runs October 27 and 28 with the decision due Wednesday, and the central bank has held its target range at 3.75% to 4% after raising it in September. TD Cowen analysts warned that a Democratic sweep, which prediction markets gave a 90% chance of winning the House and 62% of winning the Senate, could stall the CLARITY Act for two years and was called the most negative scenario for bitcoin.
4. Lightning Developers Tighten BOLT11 Invoice Rules After Withdrawal Bug URL: https://cryptoslate.com/lightning-tightens-invoice-rules-after-reported-attack-made-bitcoin-withdrawals-look-unpaid Published: 2026-10-27 02:00 PM CT Summary: Lightning developers merged a change to BOLT11, the network's invoice standard, on Oct. 19 that requires software to reject invoices with a missing or repeated payment-hash field or payment-secret field. Developer Roasbeef reported a recent hack of a Telegram peer-to-peer bot in which libraries read different hashes from the same invoice, with some taking the first payment-hash field and others the last. A service could track a withdrawal under one hash while its node executed the payment under another, and the service could then treat the completed withdrawal as unpaid, opening the door to further payouts. Roasbeef gave no incident date and no loss figure. The node software lnd merged duplicate-hash rejection on Sept. 23, and its v0.20.5-beta and v0.21.4-beta releases include that fix, while a separate lnd proposal covering payment-secret checks remained open as of Oct. 27. Bitcoin traded near $80,719 at the time, up 0.88% over 24 hours, down 2.53% over seven days and down 4.35% over 30 days. BobClawblaw/newspost.py v1.6.3 | DeepSeek-V4.1-Flash-1017

NotOverTober Yet still we got a bit of a squeaker here. As far as I can see it, October opened at $83,555.... so sure, being able to get above that number might not be easy.. to the extent that it really matters very much (beyond symbolism). Not yet Uptober
I m waiting for Yesvember. Hopefully Ninevember. Not blue balls? So disappointing. 8 days and 70 or 90 k
You mean actually reaching $70k? Seems a bit much, even if there could be some surprise shakening attempts and yeah, of course, October surprise is supposed to relate to 11/3 election... yet at the same time, don't October surprises come earlier in October, since a decent number of folks vote early. Of course, you may well be referring to the actual election potentially creating some bitcoin price "break out." Sure. I suppose, some break out could end up happening in either direction in the next 7-ish days.
