Get comfortable everyone, I have a feeling we're going to be stuck in this $666 range for a long time. There's some kind of weird market psychology at play, just like in March.

when you guys cash out big bucks.. do ye pay the capital gains or what? im wonderin how to get around that lol
in the u.s., hold everything in a roth vehicle. requires foresight. Can you currently put btc in a roth? only via a self-directed roth investing in an llc. you direct the custodian to place the funds with the llc and buy the crypto with llc funds. keep it tracable, provable, do no self-dealing, and you can avoid all tax liability. it is well-established tax law at this point. google for 'checkbook ira' or 'self-directed 401k'

$666 seems to still be a true resistance level. We keep making it just to about $666 and then falling back down. Often times, we cross it slightly before correcting back downward.

c'mon, ebay mentioned bitcoin in the news, where is my CCMF! Any guesses for why this guy/gal has that wall up? Are they interested in keeping the price down to buy more? Why else would someone with BTC supress the price?

It went up since yesterday night. Let's hope a whale won't put it 20$ down again.

Yup. But you have to wonder, when fake walls are used to suppress the price, might it be a good sign? Tiny wall @ 655 eaten. Thats BTC100 out of the BTC2500

Thats BTC100 out of the BTC2500 I consider it a good sign, as I think it is someone keeping the price from MOON! so they can buy more. When they are done or overpowered we should move up. Nobody puts up sell walls, real or fake, other than to stall. If they wanted to cause panic then they would dump, if they wanted to sell then they would spread it out.

There are strong powers working in the shadows to suppress the price, for whatever reason. When their efforts eventually fail (which they will), the kinetic energy stored up will spring forth faster than anyone here can even imagine.

That is really good news. I like the fact that he speaks pretty intelligently about BTC and it's potential to better Ebay and Paypal

I really am not seeing the hype that happened around the last bubble. I really don't hear word of bitcoin these days outside of the community.

I am not certain, but I thought US citizenship meant you were expected to pay tax on all your worldwide income, whereas many other countries just tax you for what you earn in their own country if you are a citizen.
I lived in the US but didn't get a green card (g/f offered to help) because of likely tax implications - but this was a fair while back.
This might account for the renunciations (just the very rich!)
Note that the green card is not the same as citizenship. And you would likely still have been liable to the same laws as a non-permanent resident as a permanent one. I did look into it - I was being paid at my British bank, but I was living in NYC. I was not involved with the US tax system at all - as I was merely working for a UK company representing them in the USA, but paid back 'home' - which is why I looked into it. I was having to go back to the UK to not look like I was resident. However the tax system got much more expensive if I went full on and got US residential status, as 'all' your income was taxable from wherever you earned it and in some cases, even if you had already been taxed upon it, IIRC.
