Bought a large amount right near the bottom, keep wrestling whether I should take profit and hope for dump or just hold. BTC amount means more to me than fiat so can't convince myself to take the quick cash.

This is looking set to explode upwards

I can confirm the next 7 days are critical

Could even retest new highs this year!

I don't expecting new high but may be we will cross 500 again if we will get momentum again.

^Looks exactly like many other alt coins.

These buy walls look like someone wants to enter bitcoin in a big way. They see the narrow price channel and are trying to take advantage of it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ripple_%28payment_protocol%29
Quote
Ripple was first implemented in 2004 by Ryan Fugger,[12][13] a Web developer in Vancouver, B.C., Canada.[14] In 2005, Fugger began to build Ripplepay as a financial service to provide secure payment options to members of an online community via a global network.[14][15]

This led to the development of a new Ripple system in 2011 by Jed McCaleb.[14] It was designed to eliminate Bitcoin's reliance on centralized exchanges, use less electricity than Bitcoin, and perform transactions much more quickly than Bitcoin.[14]

cRipple  market cap is less than 3% compared to Bitcoin. cRipple has so "BIG" market cap.(2%) because they stole bitcoin idea and bankster pumped it recently

Bitcoin replaces central, not commercial, banks

Can you please explain why ripple instead of any other crypto?  Instead of just parroting the name every post?

I explained it a lot of time.

But mainly:
-this is scalable
-more dev and ressources
-bank friendly in regard of compliance (3banks on board already +bitstamp +lakebtc + cryptsy +other exchanges interested..(i asked this indian platform + another form honkkong)
-fast  (5sec instead of 10-60min)
-no mining risk (51% attack ...power concentration ...)
-this address directly the remittance problem and that's why bank are onboards

At the same time:
-bitcoin lacks of dev
-bitcoin is slow
-banks can't handle it properly because of the lack of regulation
-volitity is really a problem for customers

Bitcoin is already the past, this community can't admit it because they are blinded by some kind of libertarian ideology but the reality is Ripple is far more revolutionnary than bitcoin.

Hard to hear but it's true. Understand it now or admit it later when you can't deny it. Up to you.

Ripple is a crypto paypal.

It will never become money and therefore is not even in the same league as Bitcoin

I search for a chart which indicates an estimation of the BTC price related to the mining difficulty. I already saw someone post it in this subforum but I don't remember who. Is there, by any chance, someone who see what I mean?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=518111.msg8633552#msg8633552
... but take it with a grain of salt as diff increase rate is a lot less than initially estimated.
By his figures we are now in mid September and mining cost is less than 150USD/BTC (actually closer to 130USD).

I understand that it's possible they get a bunch of banks aboard, but that's more like a slim chance, a gamble. How many they got now two, three tiny ones?

yep, 3 tiny one are officialy onboard but this means a lot. Rabbobank is also testing and national city bank too  and they are not tiny.

But this is true Ripple will attract first small banks. But I'm telling you 100banks the next 12months is really possible.

XRP is profitable for Ripple Lab, banks and gateways but new adopters.
Why should I buy it if it's unprofitable Huh

The only way you can profit is by holding XRP, yet large amounts of it can be released onto the market, or created at any time. You can only profit if they let you, and they won't allow outsiders to reap huge profits for their hard work (assuming Ripple makes huge profits long term - which is very debatable).

How is he wrong?  Ripple decides the amount of XRP on the market. Ripple is only good for lubricant to facilitate trade between currencies instantly. It is not ment to be a storage of value.
