I have a friend who is holding a lot of litecoin and he believes that when the SEGwit fully activates, Litecoin prices will increase significantly. Last week, the percentage was only 3%, but today, it has increased more than 10%. Will you buy Litecoin if it's the segwit percentage reach 50%?

held and bought a few more.

good decision .....who knows

I think LTC will give good returns this year if segwit is activated. I hear there are some other developments taking place also on top of this.

If segwit is not activated I will sell a large percentage of LTC since the biggest moan about it is there was no innovation or upgrades taking place. They get given upgrades by BTC and still they will not activate them would be a bad sign.

I know the case for segwit is not clear cut so perhaps there are some valid arguments for it not being activated.

I will not sell all of my LTC though since it still functions and does what it was initially designed to do except prevent asics. It is an alternative to btc that has created and forced quite a large investment from many in terms of time, energy and development of scrypt asics.

It will be one of the last to turn the lights out if that is the way it goes.

I do agree with you sir. Therefore, I will buy some litecoin from some trading platform and hold them until the price reach more than $10. Segwit is the big chance for Litecoin to keep surviving and becoming stronger and stronger in the altcoin world. And who know, Bitcoin miners may follow the Litecoin path if litecoin succeed in this field

i want to ask something about the activation if someone know, why litecoin only need 75% for activating segwit and instead bitcoin need 95%?

I did the same thing like 10 days ago and still hoping about that , actually I believe that LTC price should be at least 5$
if Segwit got approved then the price will most likely move up a lot , but even if it doesn't get approved I think that buying Litecoin at this price is good since I think that it can't keep going down so much

That's a nice bump. Since Litecoin is a tiny coin compared to bitcoin, the hashrate is smaller so that means changes are reflected way faster. Maybe the tides shifts if we get close to 50% and the rest of the miners wake the fuck up and activate segwit. I may buy some LTC.

If segwit support keeps increasing, so will the daily money flowing into LTC. As its success starts to manifest itself then there'll be huge money coming in and LTC will soar. Then, once the LTC/BTC price is sky high people will want to sell back for bigger satchels of bitcoins and that is when the next BTC price boost likely will come from. Whether the BTC devs take up segwit after a successful launch remains to be seen. LTC is a fantastic buy at this monumental stage and will score you many more bitcoin on the other side.

Litecoin is shit. Anyone holding or longing this coin will get burned soon (2 weeks xD).

Made a ton of money on recent crashes. I expect another major crash soon.

Segwit isn't going to change anything, LTC isn't ever going to "recover", let alone pump.

(When I was positive, I was long because I expected a fake-out before the major crash. I was right. That was the last fake-out. Only minor dead cat bounces and major dumps from now on).

Don't be surprised if LTC is worth $2.50 or lower next month.

Nothing uprising. As far I am aware SegWit support for bitcoin is pretty much constant since the day signalling started.
IIRC Bitcoin Segwit after 2 days reached ~20% hash power support and is pretty much is keeping this status unchanged from December.
Consensus is the only thing that matters, partial support is not important.

Hmm,

You know you guys are misreading the screen,
Intentionally lying would be my guess, to trick the stupid into activating

BTC only had ~30% of their miners being stupid
LTC is still at less than 10% of their miners being stupid

It will be interesting to see which community is the dumber of the two.  Cheesy

This is the one that matters.
Segwit miner support (percentage of segwit blocks signaling within the current activation period)   604 (8.38%)

Who the issue with all this Altcoins is, who is actually using them, I've not seen any any store accepting Litecoin, since it doesn't have delayed transaction issue I don't think SegWit activation is going to affect the price significantly

i seriously hope that SegWit activates on litecoin eventually.
and price is only one of the reasons i am hoping for it, obviously that is a big push for litecoin to go to the moon because of the new development being segwit. and the fact that i am holding lots of litecoin

but mostly i hope this happens because we can all see SegWit in real life action, and i do believe that the bitcoin miners will be more willing to adopt SegWit if it activates on litecoin and is successful (living up to the promises).

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

Litecoin miners are clever than bitcoin miners, they know if litecoin accepts segwit, they will win a lot of money because of price pump. Some stubborn bitcoin miners don't like segwit but eventually they will accept segwit. Let us see my prophet is correct or not.

BTC miners have already blocked segwit , it has no chance at all of being activated on BTC,
if LTC miners accept segwit , they can kiss the profits from transaction fees Good bye.
LN will steal all of the transactions fees, and bankrupt the LTC miners.

Ask your self this, on LN offchain network BTC & LTC would run exactly at the same speed, why the hell would I bother with LN's LTC, when I can use LN's BTC.
Segwit for litecoin is a death blow to litecoin.  Moving to LN removes any speed advantages you had over BTC onchain performance.
Charlie has accepted a payoff to kill litecoin, by including segwit.   Tongue

Why would there need to be a pay off to kill off LTC ?
That implies it is a threat does it not ?

Not sure about Segwit though like most people i bet.

 Cool

That is weird. I thought the fee is not an important issue in this case. But it turns out to affect miners a lot and other things which related to Litecoin. Why do people keep saying SegWit is good? My friend, who I mentioned in my thread, is one of the professional people in the cryptos field and I doubt that his decision is wrong. He joined the Bitcoin world in 2009 and he know everything about what he should do next to obtain more and more bitcoin and money
Well, as you say, time will tell us which is more benefit and who are right in this warzone
