I see Zero is in Whattomine.com!!!

Although Whattomine still needs to fix the calculator

This is really major. Congratulations Tearo and everyone that helped to succeed this

The moment they fix the calc. Zero will appear as first in the list of most profitable cypto's
Even with today's price.

We all know what that means Smiley

It means many greedy miners who will destroy like this profit. Are you crazy or something like that?

From someone like you I would expect better language

Which are the main differences between ZERO and ZEN? How many coins would you mine daily with, let's say, a 1060 Zotac card?

The main difference between ZERO and other coins like ZEN, ZCASH etc. is on algorithm parameters.
All this coins, included zero, are based on a fork of Zcash (Zcash is fork of Bitcoin), indeed they have security of Bitcoin and privacy of Zcash.

While ZEN is based on ZCASH equihash parameters (N200 K9) that create a block header with 140 (nVersion,hashPrevBlock,hashMerkleRoot,hashReserved,ntime,nBits,nNonce)+3 (solutionSize) +1344 (solutions) bytes, ZERO is based on new equihash parameters (N192 K7) that create a block header with 140 (nVersion,hashPrevBlock,hashMerkleRoot,hashReserved,ntime,nBits,nNonce)+3 (solutionSize) +400 (solutions) bytes

As you can see, ZERO header block and solution is smaller than ZEN and other equihash coin in cryptocurrencies panorama, and this changes on parameters improved:
- higher time complexity about 16 times
- higher memory requirements about 16 times
- faster block verifications 4x 4MB max block size
- faster blocks combined with increased block size and with shorter solution length enables much higher transaction capacity than Bitcoin and Zcash.
Another important difference is on coin reward because ZERO has
- no founders reward
- no premine
- no slow start
- no halvening
- 10 coins per block

ZERO is a "young" coin compared to ZEN, HUSH, ZCASH etc indeed they have a large community of developers, supporters and miners, but ZERO potential much larger than many new coins.

I discover this coin one day and i decide to support project with a dedicated pool..

So at the end, ZERO requires much development and a lot of support to grow, anyone who wants to contribute to the project is welcome!
Please contact Tearo, who is the dev of this project, if you want contribute to ZERO grow up

For 1060 Zotac card ? try to mine and please post hashrate with OptiminerZero so we can build a database for ZERO GPUs hashrate  Wink

One page back is a tutorial by komodomining, please take a look on it.
And mining goes with GPU, 8gb AMD gpus are the best solution so far. You need to download optiminer and register on pool. That is all.

I wish this one would do a little Zen.

I have a lot in this but it's still sleeping while Zen is a rocket nothing can stop

To do this, we need to start mine this coin!  Wink
Global power has increased these days

So what are we waiting ? Grin

We have to make it happen before the hype of anonymous coins dies

The Zero hype will be soon, when btc price will stabilize. Many new people interested in this project and i see more miners here. It looks really good and be more better soon.

I am one of them but I can't create the wallet with the command lines. How to do? I have downloaded zerowallet and the other necessary files, put them in the folders. What to do now to obtain a wallet file + address + key?

Thanks.

This is a rapid guide to install daemon on linux Ubuntu and create ZERO address ( soon i will publish a video guide of ZERO and How to mine it )

PART 1 - INSTALL ZERO
1) Install packages (needs to be done once only at start)
sudo apt-get install \
      build-essential pkg-config libc6-dev m4 g++-multilib \
autoconf libtool ncurses-dev unzip git python python-zmq \
      zlib1g-dev wget bsdmainutils automake cmake

2) Obtain the ZERO software from GitHub
cd
git clone https://github.com/zerocurrency/zero.git
cd zero
git checkout master

3) Download cryptographic keys (needs to be done once only)
./zcutil/fetch-params.sh ( wait some minutes ... )

4) Build the source code to produce binary executables:
./zcutil/build.sh --disable-rust -j$(nproc)

5) Create a ZERO configuration file
mkdir -p ~/.zero
echo "rpcuser=zerouser" > ~/.zero/zero.conf
echo "rpcpassword=`head -c 32 /dev/urandom | base64`" >> ~/.zero/zero.conf
echo "rpcport=23800" >> ~/.zero/zero.conf

6) Seeder Nodes
Add seeder nodes to the config file:
echo "addnode=zeropool.cloud" >> ~/.zero/zero.conf
echo "addnode= 54.144.219.55" >> ~/.zero/zero.conf

PART 2 - START ZERO AND CREATE ZERO ADDRESS
suppose to install zero on /root dir
cd zero/src
./zcashd -daemon ( start zero )

to see if all works well check log
tailf ~/.zero/debug.log

if you see that blockchain goes all works well now is time to create address
Your wallet will be created (on first zcashd start) here: ~/.zero/wallet.zero
Please backup your wallet periodically and keep it safe.

./zcash-cli getnewaddress ( THIS IS YOUR YOUR ZERO ADDRESS !)
t1XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

save private keys
./zcash-cli dumpprivkey t1XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
!! SAVE THIS INFORMATION !!

Would you like to import this address into another ZERO wallet?
Simple, ./zcash-cli importprivkey PRIVKEY BELOW

PART 3 - MINING ON ZEROPOOL.CLOUD
HELP GUIDE HERE http://miningpools.cloud/?pool=zero#/help

PART 4 - CHECK BALANCE USING CLI
./zcash-cli getinfo ( balance voice )
or
./zcash-cli listreceivedbyaddress 0 true

Enjoy ZERO

In the post before I said Windows. Could you please repeat same procedure for Windows users?

sorry but Windows procedure is not ready yet but it's in roadmap

It seems that no one on Windows can create a wallet or mine Zero. This coin isn't going anywhere until that happens. If it drops below 13 cents, I'll buy some, but it doesn't make any sense above that price until Windows becomes functional.

The post above says that Windows wallet isn't ready, but it's on the roadmap and your comment is totally contradictory to that post. How about making wallets that can be easily downloaded like most other coins. With Zero, you have to build your own wallet and it seems to only be working for Linux. It clearly says Windows isn't yet ready. It's like if you're running on Windows, your shit out of luck. Where's the love for the Windows users?

I'll say it again, the sheer difficulty of setting up a wallet for Zero will keep it from going mainstream. It's going to remain a niche coin for just a handful of users. Most people in the crypto space aren't technical enough to build their own wallet and most will simply move on to another coin like ZenCash, which is going absolutely crazy right now. When the price goes back up, I'm selling my Zero coins and will use the BTC to buy other crypto that are further along in development. Once the Zero wallet issue for Windows has been resolved so that it can easily be downloaded and installed on Windows, I'll reconsider getting back into Zero.

Simple because people are not willing to do something more to have than just download and run 1 simple file. I have sent this way my coins from linux wallet into exchange and it was no problem for me.

AMD Vega 56 is not working.

Error: AMD HSA Code Object loading failed.
Does your AMD drive match your mining tool?If not, there will be an error, or you will need to make a microsoft visual C++ .

Zero can be mined only with OptiminerZero, sure that no rent website has this modified equihash algo yet.
