Which are the main differences between ZERO and ZEN? How many coins would you mine daily with, let's say, a 1060 Zotac card?
The main difference between ZERO and other coins like ZEN, ZCASH etc. is on algorithm parameters.
All this coins, included zero, are based on a fork of Zcash (Zcash is fork of Bitcoin), indeed they have security of Bitcoin and privacy of Zcash.
While ZEN is based on ZCASH equihash parameters (N200 K9) that create a block header with 140 (nVersion,hashPrevBlock,hashMerkleRoot,hashReserved,ntime,nBits,nNonce)+3 (solutionSize) +1344 (solutions) bytes, ZERO is based on new equihash parameters (N192 K7) that create a block header with 140 (nVersion,hashPrevBlock,hashMerkleRoot,hashReserved,ntime,nBits,nNonce)+3 (solutionSize) +400 (solutions) bytes
As you can see, ZERO header block and solution is smaller than ZEN and other equihash coin in cryptocurrencies panorama, and this changes on parameters improved:
- higher time complexity about 16 times
- higher memory requirements about 16 times
- faster block verifications 4x 4MB max block size
- faster blocks combined with increased block size and with shorter solution length enables much higher transaction capacity than Bitcoin and Zcash.
Another important difference is on coin reward because ZERO has
- no founders reward
- no premine
- no slow start
- no halvening
- 10 coins per block
ZERO is a "young" coin compared to ZEN, HUSH, ZCASH etc indeed they have a large community of developers, supporters and miners, but ZERO potential much larger than many new coins.
I discover this coin one day and i decide to support project with a dedicated pool..
So at the end, ZERO requires much development and a lot of support to grow, anyone who wants to contribute to the project is welcome!
Please contact Tearo, who is the dev of this project, if you want contribute to ZERO grow up
For 1060 Zotac card ? try to mine and please post hashrate with OptiminerZero so we can build a database for ZERO GPUs hashrate
