Why do people believe in religion?

Religion is a big part of our community, there are plenty of reasons why religion is important to all of us. Religion from my perspective is created so that, all of us people are united and can understand and respect each other. Truthfully, im not a very religous person myself, but i am affiliated to one, because i know that religion keeps us unified to each other. I too, have questioned my religion multiple times, "does this really exist or does that really happen?" (I am not pertaining to any religion) In my own personal belief and opinion, religion is only made by people from the old days to stop the peoples war or violence to each other, religion is created so that equality of people will be possible, religion is the reason why people from all around the world are at peace. We believe in a specific set of rules or law that are made to give us a positive point of view to our actions. These rules or law are made so all people will know what they must or must not do in order to respect their religion. In almost all religion, God/Gods are made, there is one reason for creating God/Gods in my opinion, God/Gods are created in order for the community to be commited to joining only in one religion, another reason for creating God/Gods, is it will affect how people will see the outcome of their actions, they will mostly do what is right for them according to which religion they are from. That is all. For me, i have an openmind, i believe in my religion, but at the same time, i also think if what im believing is believable or not(you get what im saying, right?). So for me i will just keep on having an openmind and learn about the truth and facts from  religions all over the world. (I mostly believe in facts, rather than fiction).

Religion is a powerful tool to create allies, to build connections.

Religion or believing can be a really powerful thing to help people get over hart trials in life. I have seen a lot of people that have overcome bad vices and addictions in life, through the help of religion and teachings in it. And i do not mind blindly following this. No matter how impossible the thought of GOD's existence may be. And i gotta say, I am glad that these people found inspiration and meaning to change for the better and go on.

Exactly!!! People fear the unknown, and they have a need to fill that with something, anything, what ever just to cover  and lower that fear. Discussion are made, evidences are presented, there are few facts, but actually no one knows where are we coming from, no one can explain where do we go after we die (if anywhere), there are many questions that don't have an answer.
I don't believe in God and religions, that just separate people. I blame religions for many wars in history and now, I can't understand how can someone do evil things in the name of someone who doesn't even exist. Religious people live in delusions, and while they think about some imaginary Gods life is passing and in all this centuries religion didn't do nothing good for humanity!

If you approach the issue from the point of view of the Faith, then you can ask yourself one question, And what else can you believe in a person? It seems to me that it is always true to be present with a man. Perhaps someone believes, but someone else. But faith must always be in man.

We are only human that we didn't know what happen in the past million years. Were havem't some information what was gonna do when the first human made. People easily believe when they didn't know or idea in other situation. Me too i believe that there was a God watching us. Scientist said that there was a thing that might happen its all about science. Charles Darwin said that we are from MONKEY. were from monkey? So where monkey did form or how?

Basically, humans have limited knowledge in many things, both about the visible and the unseen, and also the limitations in predicting what will happen to him and others, and so on. Because of these limitations then man needs to need a religion to help and provide spiritual enlightenment to his self.

  Man needs religion not just for his own goodness before God alone, but also to help himself in the face of various problems that sometimes can not be understood.    Apart from that religion also gives a signal to man and nature that there is a superior Substance, the All-Mighty Substance, in which man needs to rely on Him through the medium of religion. Our submission to God is based on a doctrine that man can only try, God determines.

People wants to understand what is purpose of their life.
They understand that visible, external world, is not everything and that also invisible, spiritual reality exist.
If we wants to live happy and fulfilled life, we need to unite and harmonize this 2 worlds and find higher purpose in our life.

I've already made sure that people also come back when they get sick. I just mean in the soul people try to cope with some problems. Maybe it's like a push with which it's easier for them to live.

A human being is the basic form of religion.

When a man and a woman get married, they form a family that is a religion. Honoring your parents by accepting their religion is one of the best things a person can do. After all, if it were not for your parents, you would not exist.

If their religion is bad and wrong in some way, the honorable thing to do is to point out the wrong to them. But even if they will not change, it is honorable to respect them in their religion.

Certainly if you don't like their religion, start your own. But recognize that there is no reason for anyone else to take part of your religion without you doing a lot of convincing that your religion is good.

Which would you rather do? Follow the country/nation religion of a bunch of political strangers? Or follow the religion of your parents who you love and respect?
