I just got a random small payout.. not sure if it's from MU or a delayed faucet or something but:

tx: 4e588f06196442cf7f2268c72740eaa3db259182a0b223e32b80bb0266bf0cf1

A SHIIIIIIIIIIT load of people received small amounts!

IF it was MU they still owe more than I received and if not it was a faucet and I'm being a bum hole. Tongue

I don't recognize any of the input addresses as being theirs, my guess is that is something else.

I think it's probally safe to say that their will be no "Payout." 85 BTC is far from the total that is outstanding as far as I can see. They had marked mine as paid, even with the "Click Here" confirmation and yet I didn't receive anything. I hope I'm wrong, but I think everyone will have an "incompatible" wallet!  Wink Like I have said earlier, if they want to prove me wrong, I'll be more than happy to tell the Forum that I received my refund.

I actually have some information regarding the domain issue.  A good week or so before any "problems" started (aka payouts were still being received daily) in a convo regarding btccheap (which I brought up, but I'm sure MU was aware of).  It was stated that the miningunited.com was bought via another party (I'm not sure if any of the site's coding was included with the domain or just the domain itself).  I was explaining that btccheap seemed to be using Namecheap as both a domain and hosting provider (although they seemed to have moved to Bluehost since), and basically explained "Protected Whois" (which is used legitimately by many people who don't have an office address or rather not have random people showing up, plus with Namecheap it's included on new or hosted domains, so why not use it, unless you want to show your legitimacy as a business/service) and how to disable on their domain (as it was being used as part of GoDaddy's domain service).

Still having updates makes it interesting.  85BTC does seem a bit low, but who knows.  Would love to put my in-limbo 3BTC into more FPGA prototyping.  I find it interesting that there was plenty of notice that FinCEN would become involved with institutions that dealt as exchanges between alt-coins and fiat currencies (which I didn't think would affect me, as I automatically submit AML documentation with any site I even think about using for such purposes, although have yet to do so).  I don't know if some of these services are protecting themselves by blocking US-based IPs or if there is more going on then that's really being reported about (outside of the Dwolla/Mt. Gox issue, anything I've seen posted in the press is just information from months ago being regurgitated).

Multiple people got a payment, so with your logic this isn't a scam.

I tried their service, first with 0.25 and 0.01 and 0.25 (on 05/01; 05/01 and 05/05) and received payments a few days later (0.2911 on 05/07; 0.0112 on 05/08 and 0.2765 on 05/11); so I thought it would work and invested my only three BTC in some tranches (05/07, 05/09, 05/11 and a "weekend-promo" with 2x0.5 BTC on 05/12).
After asking per Mail on 05/17, I received the well-known automated answer - so I do fear, that my blockchain-wallet is not compatible with their service, although I have received payments to that adress yet.
No payment, no further notice until now.

I think, it's issues like that, that hold "normal" people away from using BTC at all; - "it's all a big scam, I know a colleague who was ripped off..."; "they are all dealing with drugs there..."; "why is there no government control?.." and so on...
For my own, I'm happy to have followed one of the most important statements on BTC: "Never invest more, than you are willing and able to lose." I was aware of the danger, but I thought I would lose it because of my own incompetence - being scammed is not a good feeling.  Sad

This is not an issue of wallet compatibility, they just don't send anything - that's all.

If you meet a stranger that wants $300 from you and tells you he will be back tomorrow at the same place and give you $350 then, would you do that?
Would you do that, if he has done that was $10->$12 the day before?
Because that's exactly what you did here.

Sorry, I thought, my sarcasm was obvious... I do not really expect to get anything back...

Have done so in real life, got back the $350 and was once more convinced, that not all the people are bad... Have to overthink my pic of mankind... Wink
I more thought, that I walked into a casino, with the possibilities to lose something or to win something, but not to be robbed.
And yes, I was (and am) aware, that dealing with BTC is something like playing (I even might have thought a very little bit, that I could be one of the lucky ones in a beginning pyramid scheme and get out soon enough...).

I think the problem is that Bitcoin is a new easy opportunity for scumbagsscambugs, so they come in hordes to scam.

Gambling at a casino and pyramid schemes are still quite different.
In pyramid schemes you profit from the greater fools after you, in legit gambling you profit from luck or lose.
E.g. SatoshiDice is legit.

Please take it for fun:

I also see it as an investment, but I wouldn't rely my life savings on it - if it's away, it's away.
I think, I will buy another 2 or 3 BTC the next time I have some bucks (that I do not really need to feed my cat or pay the insurance) and have an interesting time on the Internet in playing around with them...
And I will be happy in ten or fifteen years, when my then five BTC are worth $500 each...  Grin

You should save at least one BTC on a paper wallet (with at least one extra save copy and no traces of your private key left on a PC), instead of playing around with it, then chances are you will still have it when a BTC is worth $500+. ^^
