I'm not sure specifically but when BTC goes up, alts go down. But when BTC goes way up, it tends to bring the alts with it.

I made a topic in here before asking how the fuel coins were used with ETH projects and i got 0 replies.

None of you use it as it's intended or even know what it is or how it works.
The majority of ETH users simply jumped on it in the start of 2016 during a grand hype and pump campaign.

Notice a difference between then and now ?
This forum section is not flooded with puppet-accounts screaming Dash is going to beat BTC etc.
The price went up with no word.. if it wasn't for me posting about it here i doubt half the scene would have even noticed the price increase going on now.

..unlike Ethereum which was spammed to fuck and back across the world hard.
Users reported being hit by it across the globe.. not just here.
One girl claimed she had PM's during the ETH hype and on Twitter etc.
It was coordinated and pure BLATANT manipulation.

What is going on ?

Probably WHALE WARS  Cheesy

By the way i have about $25 worth of LTC on Bittrex.. THAT IS IT !
I have no dog in the race LOL

This isn't the first time I've heard Whales mentioned. Is this an inside joke to make fun of newbies or is this something real?

whales are big fish.... holders of huge amounts of the coins...

Thank you for sharing that.

As well for @qwizzie sharing the Roger Ver promotion of Dash.

So now we have rational reasons for both pumps.

MS is clinging to their last successful products.. Xbox, Office and Azure.
They are a joke hanging by a thread desperate for popularity from little idiots don't have any idea what they want.

AKA: Pandering.

MS is good for buying out companies and starting shit and dropping it later.

Window 7 was the last good product they made.. everything after is dog shit.
I couldn't care less what they do now.. fuck 'em.

1. bitcoin price went up
2. ETH was dumped real hard. ETH price was dropping fast
3. many gigantic buy walls were placed there to prevent the crash
4. ETH/BTC price stayed at the same lever
5. BTC price kept going up.
6. steps 2-4 were repeated.
7. with BTC price higher ETH/USD price went up.
8. now whales have even more ETH at their disposal. they pumped the price to make profit from the cheap coins that were thrown at their walls.

p.s. I also like the Dash rising and ETH whales being afraid theory... ETH foundation lies on top of it being manipulated and being the second coin in market cap with manipulating the total supply. they don't want to lose that position.

If we can forget for a moment the conspiracy theories behind who controls ETH and whether it's a scam alt or not, we can observe the basic market mechanics of the coin with the second largest market cap. The dip we experienced last year was begging for a correction, and with that momentum, a surge in fiat price.

Perhaps it is true that this all hinges on the whales' holding power, but it would take a LOT for a coin like ETH to fall from its current position of strength.

Maybe it is just something that can't be explained. The thing which happened and is still happening to bitcoin, for instance. Just that the demand is high and thus the price grows. But maybe it is indeed connected with some 'upgrades' of the eth. A new version was released in November. Perhaps this made it more popular. Since eth doesn't have any halvings as far as I know, I can't think of any other explanations.

You all put to much into random web site news stories.
I never heard of Zerohedge.com before LOL

Admit it.. it's all manipulation by the whales in our scene guys.
It always has been and always will be.

That little shit Butters went from being a broke kid in his basement to..
having 4 (or more) MILLION DOLLARS worth of coins over night..
to admitting he dumped 1 million dollars worth.. because.. uhhhhh "he felt like it"

He said he dumped a quarter of his holdings.
What would you do if the other 75% of it in the MILLIONS was dropping in value ?

Call up your buddies who helped pump it back in the old days.. that's what !

Don't forget there was 2 actions that happened guys.
And you call can STFU up with conspiracy bullshit too.. it's called FACTS !

Someone or a group was buying ETH on ICO launch day in 2014 in massive 100 BTC blocks over & over.
Then they kept fishing here with topic after topic asking "What do you think of ETH ?"
No one wanted ANYTHING to do with it !

until..

Early 2016 when a grandiose HYPE / SPAM and media blitz and FORUM advertising + PUMP campaign was launched.

Those 2 things i just mentioned go hand in hand guys.. quit playing dumb.
Coindesk's involvement was obvious too.. and.. they had a history of pulling shit before with DOGE COIN !
They admitted to quietly mining Doge with ASICS before the ASICS went public basically.
Coindesk then came out and asked.. what should we do with our coins ? (admitting they already mined + dumped a fortune)
So fucking hell yeah it was fishy beyond belief that back in early 2014 Coindesk would not stop spamming the living shit out of the NEWS site with Ethereum is going to take over the world news.. when NO ONE had even heard the fucking thing !
