Well for a start bitcoin has risen in price so much now that everyone who has ever bought and held is in the profit.  Also it is actually the hoarders of bitcoin that give it it's value,  if everyone wanted get rid of their bitcoin for other things, it would have no value.  If you decide to store your bitcoin long term makes sure you do it securely in a hardware wallet or a paperwallet backed up in many places.

Have you seen the current exchange rate? Yes? That's it. Had you just bought bitcoins several years ago and kept it, the value would have already increased multiple folds. People believe it have value and so they store it, meaning less of it in circulation and so it further increase the price, benefiting everyone that already have coins. It's mostly safe to just leave your coins in storage now because of the current ceiling price. Of course there's still the possibility of it dropping down to like 600-800 USD but that wouldn't really be a problem if you just bought bitcoins using money you can afford to lose in the first place. IMHO such drop in value could even be seen as an opportunity.

Well if you have the capacity to buy a lot of bitcoins then that would be better, that would only show that you trust bitcoin as you are willing to risk a bigger amount. However, most of us has no capacity to do that, we are just ordinary people earning a minimum amount of money for our daily expenses and that is why I see bitcoin as investment that has a good potential to change our life in the future due to our ambition to live a comfortable life. This will benefit our future if we believe, so as early as now it's good to start saving already even a certain portion of our income only.

If we think like that then it will be harder to make a profit.
Changing the way we view bitcoin could help. Think of it as a growing tree and will still bear fruits every year. Even if it is really expensive right now. What if it doubles its price again. We do that so we wont regrer in the future.
