I think I found two great videos on youtube on the dos and don'ts of password creation.  A real must watch. I encourage everyone to watch these and then consider if your passwords are really safe.

  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7U-RbOKanYs  Also  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3NjQ9b3pgIg

If you don't trust my link the video is called: "Password Cracking - Computerphile" also "Password Choice - Computerphile "

If you know of a better video on password creation plz post it.

I just watched the video that you provided. It is very educational and provided me good knowledge about password cracking. I know that we should be very careful in creating passwords and making it very hard to crack is a top priority but I didn't know that with just the use of 4 hi-end Nvidia graphics cards, passwords of million of people can be cracked in just a few seconds. It is an eye-opener for me. I will re-evaluate the status of my passwords because of this video. Thanks man for posting this up.  Cheesy

On the internet there are tans if advices how to keep your password safe, like to not use public wi-fi or to not use such passwords as 12345. I think it's all crap, cause hackers have all necessary equipment to open your password during couple of minutes.

The way I see it, with all these Vault 7 exploits and backdoors in Cloudflare... no PASSWORD will be safe. You can have the strongest password,

and people will still spoof the site or use key loggers or swap sims to hijack the 2FA. The site should be the strongest point, but it turns out these

sites are the weakest link. Bitcoin used without 3rd parties are still the recommended way to use Bitcoin.  Wink
I also think with the number of backdoors and exploits in online services your password being cracked shouldn't be your greatest concern. I have been using multiple services throughout the years (also non bitcoin related) and I've never had problems with password cracking. Every time someone gained access to my accounts it was through some backdoors and database hacks.
For instance I've lost access to my steam account for a couple days because some Russian hackers found a way to trigger password reset without the need for email confirmation. Of course it was before they added 2fa, but I think it also might have some flaws.

If there's a person want to know your password he can because the desirity of the person will find a way even its hard so that's reason  why it is happen. If you using password, you used a also a network which is online. And the first person could open or know your password is a developers then the hackers. The developers preventing theyre project to get negative feedbacks. So the only hack your account is that person who is interested.

To overcome this problem the best way is to just set s two factor authentication in case you are using wallet like blockchain.info while if you are storing bitcoins in a windows wallet then it can't be hacked.

By the way anyone believing that passwords can be generated please try bruteforce once and you will see how easy it is to create list with all possible combinations.

better to store them in your off line storage than having any password imho, i don't use a password i just disconnect my bitcoin from the net, and they are not hackable anymore, and leaving your coins on any website is very dangerous no matter the password you use, 2fa is not also 100% secure, search for reddit for bad story

This is real i have face this kind of issue when i am new to bitcoin past years, and there is no way to recover it. I am sure that so many people have fall into this victim. I think it is better for us to keep good record of our password. Yes we will keep good record of our data.

I agree with you! If you want to keep your bitcoin safe the keep your password safe. Your password is the only thing you can control as far online wallet is concerned. Some people even go to the extent of send their bitcoin wallet password to online scammers.

Totally agree. Most of The site owners are not aware of giving Total security to the user's passwords. So many hackings are done and we get to know that owners save users passwords in a text file without any encryption.
Regardless of how strong you make your passwords it will be cracked by hackers.

If the hacker has set a goal to crack your wallet, then he will do it. Unfortunately, there is still no such security system that provides a full guarantee that your wallet will not be hacked. But you do not need to use a very light password

That is why they invented to have an authenticator like sms 2fa that you receive the confirmation first before you can login .
This is what i am using right now because i think our bitcoin is not safe even we are using antivirus.. so for safety we need to use sms 2fa.

Bug in cloudflare is reall annoying and it can cause a big problem if you are not careful. You should always turn on the 2fa in order to well secure your account. No one wants to see the account's balance empty and money be stolen by the hackers. Remember, turn on both 2fa and phone verification, too. it is very important to save your wallet

A way to store Vault7-prooft bitcoin is I guess, creating the seed offline, then storing it somewhere physically. But I think there is increased risk in only having physical backups, you can lose them, so beware with that.

I've watch the video and it is very helpful. Some people nowadays don't consider password a big deal that is why many account are being hacked. Even a well-think password can be cracked so how about a not seriously think one. It is our responsibility to secure our online wallets and account, just like how we keep safe paper money in our wallet. Don't just give passwords to somebody, be careful who to trust these days and be extra careful in where to type your password in public.

I wanted to secure my main account as much as I could.... And one day I secured it so much that I actually lost my access to it. Half a BTC is still sitting there and will probably continue to forever. Cheesy

Always write your password on at least 3 different places. For example, the same password on 3 papers stored in 3 different places. If you lost one, you'll recover your funds with the second. If you lose your second one too, you'll get your third one back. The third one should also be stored in a different location rather than your home! If your home ever gets burnt, you'll still have access to your money! These are extremely rare situations but... Who knows which one of us can be the victim of such a scenario!

For online wallets I think it is a bit more dangerous as they are mostly protected by a password and sometimes by 2FA.

But in other cases our bitcoins are protected by a private key which in most cases is very hard (near to impossible) to predict, and it's really hard to bruteforce it, we know how many combination are there.

How about your private keys? We know if you have the private key alone, you can access the balance of that address.

Private keys are just 52-letter passwords. They say its impossible to crack passwords this long but i still can't be sure.

I mean what if some lucky shit bruteforces my private key and access my wallet?
