Will Dogecoin have a future?

Dogecoin is an inflationary coin. While it may have a stable price and be very useful in micro-transaction, it is unlikely to attract speculative investors. So the price is not likely to take off.

Yes. Its current supply would render it difficult to increase in value, at any point in time. Despite the facts, Dogecoin will continue to be used to introduce people into cryptocurrency. Being an extremely inexpensive coin, anyone can get into it, and start sending/receiving micropayments.

Because of its nature, it can be easily implemented into games for kids of all ages to play and earn Dogecoin. That is why, in my eyes, Dogecoin will be one of the best altcoins worth using for almost anything you like.

Nevertheless, I hope that Dogecoin would remain alive for years to come, even if no development is made into it. Just sharing my thoughts.

I think yes it has a good future, dodgecoin is a good alternative among cryptocurrencies. You can convert to dodge and sent to other exchanges since it has cheaper price. Aside from bitcoin and litecoin, it was dodge that opens me to trading before.

Dogecoin seemed promising till the dev had decided not to have limited cap. (still surprising doge managed to have stable prices comparatively). Doge is trying to replica our fiats with the features like inflationary and huge volume, only in time we could make a conclusion whether these characteristics will support a cryptocurrency to survive or not.

PEPECASH isn't just a copy of bitcoin with a joke name like TrumpCoin or PutinCoin. It's actually Rare Pepe cards backed by the blockchain. There is a great amount of development behind it already. Unlike the fake P&D coins you're comparing it to. Here is a screen shot of an iPhone iOS app called Book of Orbs that allows you to collect, buy and sell your Rare Pepe cards using PEPECASH. There are over 700 cards created already and there will be a cap at 1000 cards. A game is currently being developed using the cards as well. This is a coin that actually has a purpose and a community behind it using it daily. That can't be said by 90% of alts.

Dogecoin has been my favorite alt coin for quite a long time. It serves as a good cryptocurrency for tipping others, as well as being a fun and inexpensive medium of exchange.

However, I'm worried what might happen to Dogecoin in the future, since it has been quite some time that no new version of the QT wallet has been mentioned, neither some innovation to keep it going for the long term.

It would become ideal for Dogecoin to add SegWit to its code, and gain traction if it gains acceptance from the miners. Then, if it manages to become the first cryptocurrency to accept the scalable solution, it could rise in popularity once more (not to mention that transaction will be near instantaneous).

Nevertheless, Dogecoin is a great cryptocurrency being inexpensive and relatively stable, making it a great way to tip others or send micropayments faster than BTC at a fraction of the cost.

I think the launch date of the dogecoin was 2010 and  it became famous in the year 2012 . It was also the best altcoin for me because after athe start of 2012 its value and popularity increases that made me profitable . I usually bought doge coin from my refferal income of exchange sites but now I have stopped to buy doge coin Because the owner leaved his job with doge now I don't think that the new owner can do more better .
Since it is open source and no charge for the transaction , so I have hold about 50 lakh doge coin in my yobit wallet   with the hope that it will goes famouse once again and I will get much profit with this .

This looks like a nice project, but it's an issued asset that resides on the XCP blockchain and so it shouldn't be compared to a currency like Dogecoin. Dogecoin has been mined fairly over time by anyone who wanted to participate, and there has been a lot of trading and diversity in the distribution.

An ICO doesn't have the same status as a widely distributed currency that has been generated gradually over time, like Bitcoin. I think that in order for PEPE to succeed, the cards should be backed by an amount of Dogecoin, so that they would always have some base value, similarly to how collector's edition specially minted coins have a dollar or other currency value to them.

I guess you're right. If Dogecoin remains usable, and its value becomes more than 1 satoshi, there should be nothing to worry about. The best thing that DOGE has right now, is that its network is not clogged with users, leaving it free to process any transaction at blazing fast speeds. I think that it may never need to implement a scalable solution such as SegWit or increasing the block size, in contrast to Bitcoin.

Nevertheless, I hope that even if there would be no development or innovation for Dogecoin, it would become supported by the community for years to come. If there is at least 1 node on the network, the cryptocurrency would remain alive and usable. Just my opinion.

Yes me too. dogecoin is the first altcoin I used to play with I started trading. But notice lately that the price and volume has not pick up. I wonder why had happened. But I guess, the coin is still alive and still have use today for some people. I hope the dev will be active soon and implement some good innovation so that this coined will not die. I don't have dogecoin with me, but I'm still thinking of buying and hold it for a while to see if I will profit in the long term.

Yeah me too. It helps you as a starting ground to understand cryptocurrencies better, and learn more about their underlying technology. I use Dogecoin most of the times to test my trading skills, as well as to teach others who are new into cryptocurrencies.

I believe that the more it becomes used to introduce others into cryptocurrencies, the more popular and widely used it will become. Considering its supply and fast transaction speeds, it makes it the perfect coin for social micropayments.

Nevertheless, regardless of whenever Dogecoin gets innovation or not, it will aim to survive in the future by its supporting community. Just my opinion.

Yeah. Sometimes Dogecoin has this sorts of pumps, and while being little, it is a great way to make some profit if you take advantage of the price movements. Still, the Dogecoin has remained between the $0.000230 mark and I think that it will be that way for a long time (due to this high inflation). Perhaps, if someday Dogecoin could experience a reduction in total supply, it would make it a much more valuable altcoin.

In the meantime, it would be just to make use out of Dogecoin, as well as keep it alive by supporting it with full nodes, and other means. I have hope in this exciting altcoin, saving a little DOGE each day on a paper wallet for future use.

Nevertheless, in my eyes, Dogecoin will always be one of the best altcoins for daily use. Just my thoughts.

Yeah it seems so. Looks like there are still people who're interested in the good old Dogecoin. These pumps are great for those who had Dogecoin earlier, making a nice profit out of it. I believe that the more Bitcoin users migrate into altcoins (due to BTC's slow transactions), the better it will be for their price.

As Dogecoin is an extremely fast cryptocurrency, it serves as a great tool for mainstream payments, while Bitcoin would serve only as a store of value just like Gold. Maybe someday the dev would return, or there would be a community takeover to help improve Dogecoin and modernize its code. Getting SegWit acceptance on DOGE by the way, would be cool although not needed now. Just sharing my thoughts.

You are not the only one with the same sentiment,I have a huge amount of Dogecoin and sitting in various exchange,and I'm sure all the other dogecoin holders,but only the developers can answer this which I'm sure they will do something about this issue.
