but can you tell us what the problem exactly is? i have a company and and i know exactly whats going on. why dont u?

i mean its not important that you sell, its important that we know when we can buy. i think we dont need a company that helds its customers in the dark.

@ all: does the anyone know, if the baikal miners have encrypted code on them? which company can we give orders for cloning the baikal miner? i mean in china its abolutly ok to clone and its a part of market philosophy Smiley

This has already crossed my mind as well... I mean...I remember back in the late 90's early 2000's it was big business up here in Canada regarding hacked satellite cards. I recall a certain someone sending a few of the card programmers to china for reverse engineering, which is actually not the hard part. Its what you program on the chips, so back in those days the program was readily available to load on the atmel chips making it much less difficult.

I bought a few of these when they first came out.  Played with them briefly then sold them.  This goes back to when there was not an altcoin trading for more than $3 (except Litecoin).
Tried to order a quad.
They said sorry, they out of quads.  "Is there anything else you would like?"
I asked when they would get them in.
They said they had no idea and could not even estimate.
I said, "OK, well give me 4 singles."
"Sorry sir we are out of those too?"
What the ETA on those?
"We don't know and can not estimate?"
I asked, "What else do you sell?
"nothing sir"
So I assume we are only speaking with the hired help.  Someone else is pulling the strings.
My guess is either legal trouble or they are actually selling everything they get to big customers.
EDIT - of course what do I know.

My guess is ... they are actually selling everything they get to big customers.

I do not believe they are selling any to big customers (or at least those big customers are not mining with them yet).

Why do I believe that?  Network-wide, the DASH X11 hashrate has not been climbing, it's actually down a bit this week from peak.  If they were shipping miners and big customers were mining with them, one would expect to see that in the hashrate.

BTW:  This same argument holds true to debunk the suggestion that Baikal themselves were keeping the hardware and mining with it.

I wouldn't use the 1080's but rather the 1070's... You can pull about 420 S/s per card for zcash and for a 6 card rig you could get the wattage down to about 1000 in total if you configure it properly. ROI on one of these rigs would be 6-8 months dependent upon price but at least you can purchase all of the parts anytime you wish unlike with Baikal right now.

I concur - 1070's are the sweet spot for power/hash/cost efficiency today; with only one except.   AMD RX470/480 beat the 1070 for ETH/ETC ... 1070's win for pretty much every other GPU algo.

Mining4Bacon

The recent major price drop on the 1080 has thrown that into question on a few coins.

But neither is going to be worth pointing at DASH given the much higher profitability they both achieve on other stuff.

Dash mining power was upto 5 TH/s today.  Never seen it so high.  Difficulty has rose a lot because of this causing drop in profits.

I wonder where this extra 2 TH/s has come from?

Just my attempt at rhetoric to imply we've all been lied to.
Unless I've overlooked a big drop off on another x11 / quark coin...

It was on the what to mine webiste.

I have just gone back on the site and it's reporting to the opposite now.  Under 2 TH/s with a difficulty of 70k.
Weird how it hasn't been picked up on other sites though.
Keep an eye on it tomorrow.  Not that we can really do anything about it

Short term spikes happen all the time on pretty much ALL cryptocoins - most sites that estimate hashrate do it based on time between blocks being solved, which has a significant random factor.

IMO never pay attention to anything on a hashrate estimate that uses much less than a full DAY to go by.

Hi, there is a problem with sgminer/5.5.1-b, pool switching is not working, after auto or manual switch miner doesnt produce accepted shares, need to restart, all the newer version miners affected! Is there a link to burn  sgminer/4.9.3 on the sd card, as it seems fine.
