It could both happen or it could both not happen. It's just will depend on how things go from here. If Litecoins get more innovations over bitcoins then it could possibly reach that $150 price ranges. However, what is scary is that if bitcoin causes a lot of trouble for users and they get fed up with it and move to another coin, bitcoins could see an all time low for it and possibly die. Though the chances of that happening may look slim.

You're right! ETH is always next to bitcoin. Hopefully , after 2 years the BTC price is booming, having a greater value than now and had already reached many ATH. There is no imposibble with bitcoin, its trend is always increasing as year pass by and will run for a long time.

ETH is a shitrag i wouldnt wipe my arse with!

The ONLY reason it (and Dark/Dash) is pumped up is rich BTC haters trying with all their might to destabilize BTC.

Anyone who fails to see LTC as a contender is either dim or dishonest.

or why not both...

I will ask a very straight forward and simple question.
By 2019 (exactly 2 years from today). What is more likely ?
Bitcoin @ $7,500 per coin
Or

Litecoin @ $150 per coin

P.S. Offer an explanation for your choices too.
P.S.S. One of these 2 predictions WILL come to fruition.

bitcoin and litecoin has moved together in the past so it is safe to assume they may continue to do so in the future also. this means your question is not OR it is an AND meaning bitcoin to $7500 and litecoin to $150

although i don't like those numbers i think they are too big for only 2 years. $150 for litecoin means a 3650% rise which is unlikely unless something big happens with this coin like activation of SegWit.

p.s. it is worth mentioning that despite bitcoin rising from $900 to $1014 in two days and all the altcoins getting dumped, liteoin has been keeping the price up and even went up a bit.

Not sure how in the world you came up with $150 for LTC.

LTC has been stable, so in a sense it's actually been a real store of value for a little while. But it's also really under performed the altcoin index recently. With this coin, patience is really going to be key, and that's going to be tough to have. Especially when you look and see what DASH, ETH, and XMR have done recently. But those coins are all high now, and I'd feel much less stressed about buying LTC, then say buying at DASH at $100.

Realistically, with some good development, I think LTC could reach a $1 billion cap again (it was briefly there in the 2013 bubble). SegWit and Confidential Transaction are some pretty big features. That would put LTC at $20/coin, and that's my target, but only if both of these features get implemented BEFORE BTC (if it does). Now if LTC does this, then the question of $150 LTC versus $7500 BTC actually becomes a topic worth discussing, imo. Wink

This is all just guessing; here is mine: I don't expect either of those targets to be hit. Comparing the two cryptocoins, my guess is LTC will outperform BTC over the next two years.

The fact that coinbase applied and received the first license for Litecoin of any exchange in New York indicates they definitely are interested in supporting LTC. Litecoin can now be traded on GDAX in NY as a result. If this translates into improved volume LTC being available on Coinbase is just a matter of time.

Now if we have to answer one or the either I would say neither. If we are going to talk which one would be closer to your estimates I  think bitcoin would be. Litecoin was the big deal once upon a time.

Gold of bitcoin to silver of litecoin, but now we can see litecoin has been passed by couple of coins mainly by eth, so that means Litecoin is not peoples choice of silver. It won’t go as big as you think it will. However bitcoin is another subject, 7.500 is a lot of rise in the price, I think it will definitely rise from what is today but not that much.

I think the priority will be more for the litecoin that is $150 per litecoin.  I am saying this because in the bitcoin we are seeing that the current condition is directly saying that the bitcoin is no more limited to 21 millions , so here no more chances for the bitcoin to increase the price but here the litecoin has limit to generate for particular .
Do I think probability for the lite coin is more than for the bitcoin , that is regardless that bitcoin is king of the all other coins and altcoins .

LTC will correct back to $4.5 to $5 before April (within 48hrs).
Then IF and only IF segwit activates. I am guessing we will see the MOON (i.e : $70 to $110)
IF segwit is not adopted, then we will hover under $7 until CHARLIE LEE thinks of something to "add" to the LTC protocol.

Here's my prediction:

Within 2 years, ATH for bitcoin will exceed $7,500.

Within 2 years, Litecoin will trade below $10.

Why?  Litecoin is an also ran.  It offers nothing of value over bitcoin.  Sure litecoin is a well run coin, gotta give them props for that, but it's not innovating... and the bitcoin space is already covered by bitcoin.

Ethereum, with all its problems, is at least trying to offer something different.

All lite coin offered was non-asic mining, and that has gone away.

It's looking like LTC will activate SegWit, which means they'll have Lightning!

BTC likely won't because there are two opposing camps that will never come to an agreement on how to scale.

Once LTC has something of unique value it will provide a huge boost in price, which is something miners, whales and blockstream ALL want. It will provide fast, cheap transactions on a coin with good reputation and liquidity in the top 10.

I really think that neither will happen. I believe that BTC will continue to gain more media attention, will become even more popular, but I don't think that will break trough the $5000 level.
LTC, if don't show more than is doing right now (functionality wise), won't have much more room to have more value than today. I think that is more a question if LTC will bring more to the game than everything else.

imo i do not see any of them coming true because $7500 per bitcoin would not last a day and would spark many hodlers to dump all their coins and buy cheap btc when prices are dragged back down

and as for litecoin which has been around for quite a long time, has failed to convince investors to support the alt but as seen a few pumps of late.
