The Roadmap on their site doesn't go past the beta marketplace and I am curious what other ways they're thinking of using this network.
The focus is on the Marketplace app, but any number of apps, privacy focused or not can be put on the privacy framework. I know some of the community have floated other ideas like games and auctions or decentralized exchange. I think gathering ideas here could lead to some being developed, either by the team or other project teams.
Here's a good plug for governance on Particl. With decentralized voting cooked in, I think the community could lead the charge on planning what lies ahead for the Particl ecosystem after Q1 of 2018.
Proposals to vote on, maybe new community development teams being created. Possibly even a Particl Foundation Privacy Grant to help kickstart worthy startup teams as they begin building apps on top of Particl's Privacy Framework.
So Litebit has opened the door for community discussion of what happens post-marketplace and thought I'd port this discussion here as well as Reddit/Slack/etc. It is due for release during Q1 2018, which isn't too far away, so in my opinion, it would be better to start discussing the way forward post-mp right now so that once it is released we can move on without wasting time debating such topics. It's all about efficiency. So far, two posts were posted on Reddit, here they are:

I think a Kickstarter-type dApp would complement the marketplace well. I think many of Particl's initial users will be in niche markets that rely on seed funding for the initial product and that are not adequately served by sites like Amazon and eBay. Allowing users to anonymously fund the development of products they want to buy will also result in better synchrony between the buyers and sellers, especially early on. Investors can also set their stake rewards to automatically be sent to projects they want to support long-term.
A friend told me that Kickstarter charges 10% fees for sellers, so simply on fees alone, Particl would be a strong competitor.

I agree this fits nicely with Particl and its marketplace. I also don't think it should be too hard to make as it is not so exotic in terms of feature.
One feature that could be interesting and similar to Kickstarter is goals/milestones. If the project doesn't reach a set miletstone, investors are refunded at no charge. Then we can get more crazy and maybe even put the option to give funders a share of your sales revenues made on Particl, though that would be more easy to game (you can just sell from another address and since Particl is anonymous people wouldn't know or couldn't enforce their share to be paid, but this assumes a dishonest seller).
One thing that Kickstarter does good is that it enforces goals. So if you reach your milestone, you have no choice to send your promised goods to customers. On Particl, this would be harder (maybe impossible) to enforce, so funders would need to do their own due diligence to decide whether a project is honest or not.
Also, I really hope we can get a tool to manage staking rewards soon because that will allow people to do all sorts of things with their stakes, be it fund a kickstarter-like project on Particl, passively donate to crypto Youtubers until we get coverage, donate to privacy and security-related organisations such as Tor, TAILS, EFF, Qubes, Purism, etc...and hopefully get on their official repos and such. I really think this would be a killer feature.

I'd personally be very interested in a decentralized Twitter-style platform. I've always dreamt of having such a feature on Particl and it seems like we already have the infrastructure for it with the new paid messages feature
Twitter is used a lot in political discussions and it has gotten a bad reputation for heavily censoring various accounts, topics and political positions. I'm sure a lot of people know what I'm talking about. Same goes for Youtube/Facebook, but Twitter seems easier to emulate in a decentralized fashion + it would be another great reason to SPEND TIME ON THE WALLET. Once we get a web portal that'd be even better, you could post just like posting on
www.twitter.combut instead you go on
www.partweet.comor something like that
The other "dream Dapp" for my personal taste would be a Blackjack game where users can either play the game or "fund" the House and be the casino. That'd give another passive income to people and you wouldn't need to leave the wallet open. I remember back in SDC oldies there was a community member who started working on a Shadow dice game within the wallet (but that was dropped), so it's not so far fetched in terms of an idea that could be built on Particl.
Note that both these examples generate additional passive income. One through paid messages and the other by taking a risk a be the House.
Curious to see what others would like to see!
Overall I think BCT is a good platform to discuss this, so if anyone got some idea, argument or point to make on the subject, please do. Let's start planning this platform's future the way we want it to be!
