lol,
what it has to with that those 2 countries ?
None of these countries can control bitcoin and i know they want to take bitcoin down or access it's tx info but it's impossible.

I agree with you but in as much as they can't centralize and control Bitcoin we shouldn't be caught complacent of their actions but rather monitor them and resist everything that they try to set to have Bitcoin under their control.
They very much can centralise and control Bitcoin.  As the whitepaper says:
Quote
If a majority of CPU power is controlled by honest nodes, the honest chain will grow the
fastest and outpace any competing chains. To modify a past block, an attacker would have to
redo the proof-of-work of the block and all blocks after it and then catch up with and surpass the
work of the honest nodes.
So, a collection of dishonest nodes would be more than capable of messing with Bitcoin if they collaborated - with the growing monopolies of allied forces working on BU they could easily carry out a 51% attack and if only a few people owned as much Bitcoin as everyone else it would be even more centralised than fiat currency from the start, which unfortunately is part of the problem with a currency that deflates so quickly.
How can a few people owning as much as everyone else can make it more centralised than fiat? Bitcoins you own don't give you any power over the rest of them.
Fiat is centralised because the government of a country that issues it can decide to change its value whenever they like. They can print new bills, destroy old ones and even take your own bills from your bank account, like they did in Cyprus. You can't do it with Bitcoins.

HODL (both chains)

I agree that is double the profit for you.  Feelings should be killed not Bitcoin if we want to take advantage of every scenario.  I do agree that both party have good intention, it is that FUD is being spread everywhere to take our Bitcoin at the cheapest possible price.  In times like this, we should be happy because if chain split happen, nothing is lost but we get the coins on both the chain.  It may drop in price, but it will recover once everything settles.

Everyone know and that is the fact that in the future bitcoin will be international currency and every power is in support for it so we do not believe on any fud and we need to continue on our way to store and hold our bitcoins and in the future as you are saying we will be happy as everything will be settled and the price will go high.

Well said. It is possible that the two new coins will never be what BTC was.

I thought a peaceful split is a good thing, but this does not look peaceful anymore. BTC is inferior compared to most altcoins but it was THE ONE AND ONLY.

Technically there is no good reason to invest into BU or the "new PoW-BTC"... Cry

But hey, $200 ETH and $500 DSH could be the answer  Undecided

If you ask me, the winner of the war will be the coin that is called "BTC" or "Bitcoin" by the exchanges and the press in the future. That is what sheeple know. Sad

Yep, Im agree with you

Perhaps we can see BTC down to $100 by the end of this year?

As it looks like people are giving away BTC in exchange for ETH this month, the gap will get closer if this continues by BTC dropping its value and the increase of ETH.

When bitcoin split into 2, I don't think it's bad, as anyone who have bitcoin will have both new assets, with total value possibly no less than before.

oh it will be less when money flows to up and coming alts. I don't understand how I can have coins on both chains though so guess ill just sell everything Cheesy

It is a whole system migration of the BTC population over to the Free World of ETH it seems. Cheesy

If so then this could be the just the beginning of the end for bitcoin and it will be the fault of the big wigs trying to own it like they always want to do when they don't have control of a good thing for everybody.
So sad really. Embarrassed

Guys, stop the pessimism! Let's just make this hardfork a golden moment of Bitcoin's history and stop listening to those, which want to split Bitcoin just in purpose to reject something like a new 2 MB limit or make their points about nodes and miners or whatever ...

Just run Core with a 2 MB patch (or BitcoinEC or Bitcoin Unlimited), let miners increase size with BU, and celebrate the fucking hardfork.

Don't let Bitcoin be shattered into pieces.

This is an outdated article.

The pump we have now is different. It represents increased users' adoption to the currency and looks like BTC holders want to reserve their share of this hoping for higher returns. That's what I think.

You are welcomed to invest in whatever you like. I think anyone who invests 'for the long term' in etherum is a fool, but to each his own. Good luck.

No one can guess what will happen tomorrow. Now around bitcoin an unpleasant situation, but it's too early to say that bitcoin is dead. This is a temporary decline in prices. I am confident that the price is stabilizing

No one could guess truly but their are certain indicators on what will happen to the bitcoins price that can make us do some wild guess, Thats why we have speculators that spread their fearless prediction on its movements but anyways lets forget about them and lets just focus on ourselves and we should do our own research since we are the one who surely can help our ownselves and lets still keep our faith high to bitcoin so that the price of this coin will go up again like on those past months price.

Bitcoin have overcome several RIP Ceremonies from the day of existing. So no need to have better luck the next time, because right now only countable number of users are into bitcoin. Being a member of the community itself a luck of the user.

So Satoshi Bitcoin will split to Chinese Bitcoin and Blockstream Bitcoin.

If only core developers were capable/motivated/competent to find a solution to increase block size so that people can continue using bitcoin without paying ridiculous fees and insane confirmation time.
Anyways, if there is a split then BTC will not survive as BU needs 70% miner support and if there is 70% support, even less than 50% of those miners can do a 51% attack on BTC, so BTC will need to change their POW as they are planning now, at that point BTC will no longer be BTC but just another altcoin, and a technically inferior coin to many other altcoins.

So why wait for everything to fall apart when the only option is to choose an altcoin and start using it.

Even though a split is unavoidable but bitcoin will not be a goner with just the reason of a split. If that is how people view it and it is the truth then bitcoins price is already at 100$ right now. But as you can see bitcoin has survived the storm and can survived many stronger storms to come. The community is ready to face whatever the odds bitcoin will face. As long as the community trusts bitcoin it will never crash.

Yes that would probably climb up its price because people now were buying bitcoins and most of them have positive thoughts towards price progress in a long run. So we must have enough courage to face the challenges that presently encountered right now and all we need to do is believe and trust bitcoin capability for its pillars to stand strong no matter what.
