Your rom allowed 4x Sapphire Nitro 480 8GB reach 29.3MH/s (Micron).

I tweaked the settings a bit, but I mostly needed the straps as PBE wouldn't work.

1100 GPU/1000 mV
2050 Memory/1000 mV

Fan minimum 50% makes them run smooth.

I can't confirm his rom is best, but at least the straps are changed. What strap mod did you perform?

I think Micron might be hit or miss maybe?
If it is of any use, the ASIC qualities in GPU-Z are 70.4%, 68.7%, 68.3%, 79.5%.

Has been running stable 29.3MH/s for 3 days now. Lets see if it crashes eventually.

For all of you guys i made a custom bios from the one in the main post.
You won't need any wattool,wattman,afterbuner,trixx or any other software of that type, i set everything in the bios like Insider00 did with wattool, so :

Def gpu clock : 1144 Mhz
Def mem clock: 2150 Mhz

Mem straps 1625
VDDC (gpu voltage) set at 925mV
TDP 120w
Set fans to hold cards at about 70c, so you don't need fan regulation either

Before flashing remove ALL software that you used before for manipulating (wattool,wattman,afterbuner,trixx...).
Then clean all video drivers with DDU.
Flash bios. Reboot, reinstall video drivers.

First of all, thanks for the BIOS Doktor83.

I have a strange issue:

Doktor83's bios has the temp settings:

med temp - 45
high temp - 56
max temp - 73

And in MSI Afterburner i can see the max temp limit is 65. Of course after my cards reach 65c - reboot.

But the original bios:

med temp - 65,
high temp - 85
max temp - 109

AS for me, that is some kind of bug. Any suggestions ? Should i change the temp settings via POlaris and than flash the cards again?

i have this night moded the bios and set Mem: 1160 Powerstage: 3 Memory: 2150 and get  29,4 mhs :-)

worked great but my 480 nitro still keeps the fan at 0% any insight in what might be happening? also the newest driver didn't recognize it, can the ATI pixel clock patcher solve this or not??

Hello guys!

A little help needed here
My card is an ASUS RX470 STRIX GAMING 8GB OC with micron memory, and I'm doing dual mining ETH+DCR with claymore. And using afterburner for tuning.
I tried a lot of variations but my best was 25MH/s ETH + 780 DCR. (or 26MH/s single)
drivers: 16.9.1, 16.9.2, 17.5.2
gpu: 1000, 1025, 1040, 1050, 1100, 1150, 1200, 1250
mem: 1750+
straps: 1500, 1625, 1750

At the moment I'm mining with 16.9.2, 1100gpu, 1900mem, 1750 straps (this seems stabile and the best so far)
Highest was 28.5MH/s with 17.5.2, 1200gpu, 2100mem, 1750straps, but GPU failed over and over again.

Also tried WattTool, and copied the settings Insider posted, but could not get better result at all, and most times my pc crashed.

All the modded ROMs I've ever tried make the Claymore's miner work for about a minute or two at 30+Mh/s before crashing the Windows 10. The recent one from this thread (thank you, doktor83!) worked for about 15 minutes at 29-30Mh/s before crashing the drivers and rebooting. So, can't make it work in stable mode.

I also have a strange problem - the Watttool 0.92 doesn't show anything for my card, everything is zero. Also, neither Trixx nor the GPU-Z show the GPU temp. The latest version of Windows 10 with Crimson 16.9.1 drivers (newer drivers do not recognize the card with the custom bios for some reason).

Also, what is the reason that some of the modded ROMs are 256KB when the original ROM dump is 512KB?
I need to know if it is the problem with the card or I'm doing something wrong. The card is hashing at 25Mhs on default ROM (see the link below for the original ROM).

Bad drivers or you too much overclocked cards, probably memory errors.
You better not use modded bios you can do your own, much safer. Link to guide in my signature.
