Hi all, okay as the title states i have $25,000 to invest in cryptocurrency, and i have chosen anon tech combined with a long term investment strategy.

I have currently selected the following 3 options - possibly thinking of diversifying my stock balance between all, need your thoughts. I have included risk and also safe investments.

ZETH (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1802128.0)
a new project combining zcash zk-snkark tech with the ethereum smart platform.

Pro:

Best of both worlds (eth+zcash)
Small market cap on release
Bittrex addition on release
Highest potential gainer due to low market cap

Cons:
Incomplete project
Only one developer
Unknown skills of developer

---------

ZClassic (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1671982.0)
Zclassic is a fork of Zcash 1.0.1 with minimal changes except for 2 major things.

1. 20% Founders Reward is removed.
2. Slow start is removed (blocks start at 12.5 ZCL rewards per block).

Pro:

Superior tech same as zcash
No founders fund
Low market cap in comparison to Zcash
Holders receive zencash distribution on april 29th (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1819977.0)

Cons:
Unknown how much devs hold
Unknown if devs are in it for the money or not
Unknown how much coding experience devs have

---------

ZCASH (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1626185.0)
Zcash uses a zero-knowledge proof construction called a zk-SNARK

Pro:

Milionaire investors
Superior tech
Gaurenteed to run for many years

Cons:
Developers gain a huge percentage ~20%
Market cap already extremely high due to distribution model

With these three i plan to hold for over 5 years, i believe i have selected a balance of risky & also secure investments.

none of the above because they're all centralized, I'd go with bitcoin because it is truly decentralized.

You need to understand one thing; projects that aim to become currency/payment systems can't succeed. Bitcoin is the obvious example, hasn't reached mainstream adoption after 8 years. So, these projects aiming to become money can only have moderate success. Bitcoin has giant mcap because it was first and a cult came with it. But no other project will be that lucky. So they have to innovate to differentiate themselves from the crowd.

That being said, i think the most obvious choice is ethereum. If you're  a short term trader, it might be a good ideea to buy and cash out after raiden is released, in 1-2 weeks. Or after metropolis is released ( it will implement zk-snarks, tech that makes zcash anonymous). The long term bet would be next year after POS/casper which brings mass scaling on chain.

Or, you can invest in these low cap projects but they're a risky bet. Their value can aswell stagnate for 2 years..

PivX  but do your own research.

Bitbay is considering adding anon tech but that is not before the pegging so will be a while.

I have been interested in cloak coin although i have only got a tiny amount. I was asking for any tech appraisal of their method of anon but it was closed source. I believe they are open sourcing it now so if it offer something it could also be worth looking at.

Research them all and make up your own minds. I am suggesting you look at them only.

Of course if ethereum is going pos anon that will be very interesting.

look at combained alcoin cryptocurrency cap :

http://coinmarketcap.com/charts/#btc-percentage

and on charts you will see that you are on best way today to get REALLY RECT IMO if you plan to join any alt currency.
Sorry mate i think that you have missed most boats now and you will have to wait for correction or lose money.
but if you really insist on losing money look:
http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/monero/#charts
for me best chart in those curencies go for monero at 0.014 and pray Smiley to not dump.

you are really badass trying joining party now.
BTC in 2013 had pump at 15 dec
http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/peercoin/#charts
http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/
So it took about 3 weeks to pump alts and bum bear alt market.
be carefull man.

Yeah I would wait for XMR to bottom, then buy that. Buy low, sell high. And don't buy xerox copies of shit, because there is no limit to the supply xerox copies.

I'd be very careful betting on those copycat anon coins. You've throwing dice.

For now, I'd park $ in ETH which is what I did. Waiting to see if BTC will resume its bull market or not.

Any cryptocurrency is risky you are really pushing the risk envelope with your altcoin choices. How did your research miss Monero?

ZCash having millionaire investors combined with the fact ZCash is made by a company of closed group developers who are too important to even make their own ANN thread here should scream special interest coin at you

We do not know how much ZCL devs are holding but that can be the case with any coin. The ZCL devs were both put off by the 20% ounders feee pseudo instamine plus the tipping point to make ZCL was seeing a terrible centralization in mining pools for ZEC. ZCL was born as a result of ZEC being too centralized. The ZCL devs were good enough at coding to make a windows wallet aster than the well paid ZEC devs of esteemed cryptographers and computer science academics. They are holding the fort down don't worry

He hates it for different reasons, as i've understood from his posts:

1. He doesn't believe the endgame update of ethereum will work, aka casper which will be implemented next year
2. Second reason, i think it's because it may rival his ongoing project.

But one would be a fool to not see eth's development potential, and most importantly and the reason we are all here, the profit potential. He seems to be pragmatic.

None of the three you chose.

If you want Anon I am reasonably confident your best bet at the moment is Monero (XMR)

PIVX's zerocoin anon is not yet implemented

Decred is planning privacy features, but again, not yet implemented but I do like Decred overall. According to the roadmap they will be looking at privacy from mid year this year however cryptocurrency road maps and timelines tend to be somewhat "flexible" if you know what I mean.

Monero is a better coin than BTC in my opinion but I wouldn't be surprised if Bitcoin forked and the price shot up again. Actually I think that's what will end up happening. Keep holding Bitcoin and Ether!

Also, people have way too much invested into Bitcoin, I don't think they'd let some other altcoin replace it because of scaling issues.

very interesting, it will probably continue well, the merger between zcash + ethereum. maybe I will follow it, if you tell about yourself, the more information a reasonable and clear may be a lot to follow. some people have been giving good advice, and this is a good start for your coin, just as surely as you also develop ethereum.

What cryptocurrencies would you invest $25,000 on and why?[/b][/size]

i am afraid i choose none of your choices here. they are all bad in my opinion. and for a big investment like $25000 i would only invest in bitcoin and if anonymity is what you want then use a mixer to reach that. the safest investment specially if it is for long term is going to be bitcoin for the foreseeable future.

and among the altcoins specially with "anon feature" the best thing is Monero. it has been around for long enough, it has real anonymity and not just playing around. and the price is pretty solid although it is a little over the usual price.

Go with Komodo, based on zCash but with a lot more features, too many to outline here, do your own research.

All the big anons have had a pump or two, but KMD is sitting way down with MK at 11-13M USD, so much room for growth, and best in class anon tech.

If I was you I'd go 50% with XMR for safety, and 50% KMD for growth potential.

Don't...

Don't ask for investment-advice on these forums.... Everybody will just promote their own bagz of shitcoins...

Do your research, do it long and hard, visit reddit pages, visit forums, check the history of coins, but first of all, make up your mind of what a cryptocurrency is supposed to be, make up your mind about what money is supposed to be, then, and only then you can decide which crypto's you want to buy...

Best of luck,

StealthCoin
It's not complete anon yet but will soon. Best option of 10x at this point but then I'm bias because I have some XST.

, Its hilarious that anyone takes this kind of thread seriously, particularly from a newbie account. Its clearly meant to promote a certain coin. So we are to believe they are going to invest 25K and is unsure what to go for.

Then posts IN THE SAME day that he is holding one of the coins and shouting its praises....Sorry i'm too old and cynical for this shit.
