MSI 570 have a 8-pin PCIe connector. MSI 470 with Samsung memory (later stock) gets 24-24.5 WITHOUT bios mods and overclock.

They are not dropping price of rx 470 or rx 480 despite rx 570 and 580 coming out.
The only sale i see is with mail in rebate and it limits you to 1 or 2 per household which sucks.
The other thing i see is initially rx 570 was supposed to be priced at $149 for 4GB variant but because of the initial demand from miners and anytime they drop price they are sold out they raised the price of rx 570 to $169

I think that is the fault of the miners. They are too keen.

Well the most probable reason for the MIRs and no real price drop is that the 400 series cards are still in high demand for mining due to their mainly lower price so it's to be expected. Also like expected, 500 series isn't a huge boost, Vega still isn't out yet and that will be the big show coming up.

Production of all 470/480 cards stopped a few weeks ago, AMD not selling anymore parts, whatever is left in the channel will be sold but there are not anymore coming unless AMD changes course and releases more parts...

I am referring to how AMD controls production with their AIBs, not the actual physical parts and what they *could* be used for

I just got my MSI Armor RX580 8 GB cards in today and out of the box they do 25 Mhs with about 150 watt power draw from the wall. This is with the 17.4.3 ReLive drivers and Claymore 9.1 when mining Ethereum.
In Wattool they only show the memory clock as running 1000 MHz, but in the latest GPU-z they do show up correctly as 2000 Mhz. I am a bit hesitant to try to adjust things with Wattool if it isn't detecting the cards correctly, so I will probably just stick with experimenting with different settings using afterburner at first.

I know its not apples to apples (hynix vs micron, and 2050 vs 2040), but you'll see my hashrates are pretty constant between RX470 and RX570.
GPU #0 = MSI RX 470 4G HYNIX @ 1140/2050 GPU #1 = MSI RX 570 4G MICRON @ 1140/2040 GPU #2 = MSI RX 570 4G MICRON @ 1140/2040 GPU #3 = MSI RX 570 4G MICRON @ 1140/2040

That's the kind of comparison I'm interested in for power consumption. Using the same core speed do the 570s consume less power than the 470s? -TBT
