hey I have an idea here..

think this would fit?

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814500414

I can get   490 sols using  140 watts

that  mobo  would be unreal with  8 of these nvidia pushing  3900 sols

if I lower clocks I can do  414  using 126 watts.    one card and the entire rig.

which means maybe 105 watts for the mining of zec.

Man  I would love to get that mobo.  load it with nvidia's and mine zec.

sell the cards back since i have the original boxes and waranties not sure what the big deal is on these pandas unless you have money to burn I guess

If you're not going for super-high airflow, NMB is a very good choice for fans - at least comparable on reliability to Delta (though not up to the ancient Rotron metal-frame fans).

I have a *TON* of their 80mm and 92mm models that have spent literally decades in server cases with very few issues and VERY long lifetimes.

I would be very worried about cooling on ANY standard dual-width card in a Panda - seems like it has very little room for airflow if there is more than a heatsink to push air through.

If any standard card would fit though, it would be the Gigabyte ITX model of the 1070 (or for a LOT of money you could go with some of the 1-slot-wide AMD workstation-version of the RX series but why bother).

The "big deal" on the Pandas is twofold - they are smaller than a riser-based multicard rig by a LOT unless you get really fancy on modding a rack-mount case (and seem to be a bit smaller even than THOSE setups due to being a lot shorter in length), and they are "don't have to do it yourself" for those that are not capable of building their own rigs.
They're more like buying an ASIC rig - almost plug and play.

I'm no longer legendary just in my own mind!

nice first I want to see that if you can get the same hashrate with your 6 cards comparing to the panda with 8 cards. Just not possible Wink And if you try to build a proper setup with 8 gpus by urself, I'm pretty sure that you will be at the same amount like you have to pay for a panda

I'm not saying i would build an 8gpu rig i can buy six cards at $225 a pop mb and PSU and risers and thats only $1600-1700 or so , assuming i splurge on high end components.  I'm getting free shipping so that 2400 price+shipping per panda is well over
the price even if i grabbed an extra 2 more cards to tack on to the next rig.  I get longer warranties on actual cards and actual computer parts that have value, not this overpriced wana be asic.

I'm good on the panda madness.

It looks like pictures that were previously loading yesterday for me, don't load today.

If I try to hit URL directly as well as the new photos, not working either.

Cool post. Appreciate the updates on this as I've got one coming in the mail soon. How many do you have?

1) Can I ask what you think about the noise output? Depending on where you have it, any plans on doing some kind of soundproofing?

2) Do you mind posting how much this one B3 unit manages to mine after 24 hours at your pool (and which pool you recommend)?

Keep up the good work Smiley

Ps. I dont see pictures either.

Looking at these photos, its shorter width wise than the B1 -- 19.5" Wide x 6.5" High x 11" Deep

Someone would have to build a custom case or make an open air frame to turn one of these into a system that will support regular cards. I see that happening with these long term as people replace GPU's. The question will be how well the board is built and how long it will last.
