Everyone thought it was a joke but it did pretty well in its prime. Considering that the coin is based off of a meme I still think it's doing pretty well.
I managed to mine a few million in its early days. Managed to make me a nice small amount

OP, idiots here only read the thread title and most don't even understand that, as is the case here.

I can't give the specific example, but whoever called Dash going to the moon got it right.  Increasing 10-fold is 'the moon' and I definitely recall heated arguments about that.

I made no good predictions myself, and I usually stay off the speculation threads.

Or patience. I bought a bit lower down and sold it yesterday. But this was not based on chart analysis or whatever traders use. It just happened to coincide with my overall investment and business strategy so I took advantage when it presented itself.

The problem with making short term trading calls is that everyone who gets it right some of the time gets it wrong far more often. And we don't have a called it shame thread, and never will.

I have to say I dont remember last time I did a successful prediction (which would bring me really good money) however I have some story about DOGE too.

I rembember the times when it just got created, and when i heard about it, my face was more like "the fuq is going on with these people" than "what a great opportunity!".
DOGE currency seemed like a total joke for me and at the first glance I didnt want to believe it has some value

And the funniest part? I wanted to use my PC (it was really good back then) to mine a little bit of DOGE, just for fun but my friend said I will only waste my time, he advised me to use my resources to mine bitcoin.
Guess what? Finally, I didnt mine any crypto

If a ten fold increase is the Moon the dash has really no place to land there, a lot of altcoins have already taken over all the landing spots.
And Bitcoin is somewhere near the sun.

And more to the point, 98% of the people here are waiting for bitcoin to get to 10k$.
Everybody wants that everybody posts that ten times a day , will they be right?
It's more a wish than a prediction and the difference is quite big between the two of them.

in my opinion the track record is important not a one time calling a price and that coming true. even a broken clock is correct twice a day.
if anybody could predict the price bottom and top and within a decent time frame then they are good at it and have to be proud. but saying x coin is going to get pumped and that gets pumped is just random guess that came true in my opinion.

My prediction in 2016 was also not that bad in retrospective:

This was literally the easiest trade investment I've ever done. I assume we might experience some resistance before the halving. Sell-the-news-stuff. New ATH after a correction to the 5XX$ region. If I would trade currently, I would take some proft in the 820-920 area. Bitcoin tends to overshot resistances by a few points just to scare trader off.

Just an update of my opinion: I just increased my bitcoin stash significantly. (Let's say All In )

I did it not because of any TA pattern or anything close, but because of fundamentals. I am planning to hold my coins now until they are tax-free. (>1 year)

With the halving coming, the recent panama paper leaks and the coming Greece+IMF closed-door default deal I can see a crazy storm brewing. Because of that I don't want to let the current triangle end without taking one side in the game. #419

When eth was in early  age I invested in it because I know it will profit. So I have bought many ETH way back and I got it sold for a price only of 500k satoshi each because I set sold to that value so all in all I profited but not that much since after I sold it it came up to 1m satoshi+. If I have been more patient that time I would have had more profit with it but I became impatient. It was really a good move I made to buy ETH but I sold it to early.

This way anyone could become a sage even by throwing blind balls. I wondered in mid 2015 when bitcoin was recovering from $220 to $240 rangebound. Suddenly may people predicted here about $400 or $450 also and it happened but did hold but that was the beginning stage of what current rally have achieved.

One thing we are all sure about is higher price for bitcoins over time due to increasing popularity/adoption/demand and limited cap. So, we can always think about next-next targets and it may hit one day but may not within next rally itself.

I believe everyone could be sage here because bitcoin fundamentally has huge price promise.
