If to talk about consuming, some people really go crazy trying to purchase latest iPhone or whatever,to make stupid selfies and spend most of the time in social network, satisfyingly their egoI wouldn’t say moral principles fall down but people nowdays are indifferent, that’s a main problem.People can easily watch violence scenes and don’t take it seriously, thinking just about themselves and their families

Everything is a brainwash Ever since you have learned to be aware you have been brainwashed. There way of teaching kids is not doing any good! If you do something wrong you get punished or shouted at. If you don't do well on a test you think your not good enough. But if you do what they say you get rewarded with things. The media today. Girls looking online at the perfect body they 'should have' and it's considered what you should look like and they are wondering why they dont. Teenagers will do anything to fit the lines so they feel accepted. Its ridiculous!

Having the latest iwhatever is a goal, having a fast car is the goal of most men, sleeping with plenty of woman may be called a goal by men but that would have no morals. Doing all this kinds of things without anyone stopping us can be said freedom. People from the past lived in times of war. You should say that people are more lazy and dumb these days that saying that they have no goal or whatever.

We are not brainwashed, the truth is that "change" is the only thing under the sun which is constant, as we continue to under go a series of metamorphosis we turn to adopt different lifestyle and by so doing throwing away our old or ancient ways of thinking.

I look around and see people no longer have goals.
We are perfect consumers. And I can't help thinking that over time, we have been "gently" pushed in this direction.
No more goals, no ideas, ideology, morals or principles. Just having the latest iWhatever, fast car and sleep with plenty of women. Like a new special breed of zombies.
In the past people fought and gave their life for freedom. And now I think we are less free then before. It's just that we are persuaded otherwise. Like in ancient Rome - bread and circus.

I totally agree. If we don't set goals in life, we are like dead fishes that are dragged by the current of the waters. We go where the world wants us to go, we think what the world wants us to think. But  if you will dream and have goals in life, you will act and think differently. You will take risks even going against the flow of this world just to reach your goal. I think people should learn how to fight for their dreams because many has them but are afraid to fight it out and in the end, they live a lif filled with regrets.

I can not judge you that you are brainwashed or indeed yes, but I can only suggest that you are looking for the truth that you are brainwashed or not from a global point of view, because if you see a point of view in your area I am sure this is true, but if from a global point of view I am sure the answer you are looking for will be found by yourself

Yes absolutely. Although we think that we are independent actually we aren’t. Although we think that we have freedom. Actually we haven’t. We were brainwashed by politics, TV advertismens and many other mods. Actually they are controlling us. As a example government can publish only favorable things to their system. Because they have control over media. So we automatically start to think that this is correct and this is wrong. Likewise a government can hide their faults and let the people think that everything done by them are correct decisions. Because of the things which poured into their minda people doesn’t thinks about new way of life or a political system. For the items like food, materials etc companies make nice advertising campaigns and it makes us to consume it. All those mods are brainwashing actions. Actually there is a common standard belief within people, this is good and this is bad . Those standarts may have originated with religions or cultures. Sometimes they have done a good job to society and structure. But still those ideas also born in human minds because of brainwashing.
So for good purposes or bad purposes we were brainwashed by someone or something at least several times.

It's all about the money. Just a theory, when social media was created, it was made just for the sake of people's fun. Take YouTube as an example, if you check older videos like Leek Spin, you can see they were all mainly just a joke. Old YouTube was all about short videos, and short videos that were worth a laugh. But then later on, it all changed.

We have all been rewhired and are sheep. Music, YouTube, social media, and commercials are saying we need to be like this, we need to have that, tv promotes unreal beauty standards, music promotes violence and only being in relationships for sex, social media is used to show that it's ok to look at porn ( like when you get a sexy pic ) YouTube sometimes promotes violence or unreal beauty standards and porn and everyone's brain is basically Swiss cheese because they never learn anything so they are easily manipulated, diverted, and diverted . This is why the world is fucked up and violent it's all thanks to your stupid ass tasteless uncreative music, your discusting urges getting the best of you, your stupid time wasting Instagram or whatever, and YouTube. It's hidden Propiganda. No one seems to change And only wise old people it seems who know how the world used to be don't get brainwashed, avoid it have you grandma tell you stories about how great it used to be because it's true.

But then later on, it all changed.

Note that 'social media' arose spontaneously as soon as 'the internet' was created.  e-mail was one of the first focuses of the very simple network features of unix at it's birth in Bell Labs back in the early 70's which pre-dated DARPA's internet project by a fair bit.  When 'the internet' first became accessible to me in the early 90's, mailing lists, NNTP and IRC were very popular and all are distinctly 'social' in nature.

Back in Youtube's early days, and long before it devolved into the Jewtube that we see today with the ADL and SPLC generously providing their censorship 'services', bandwidth was a real issue.  It is perfectly natural that vids where short and sweet.

I would not say it is 'all about money'.  It is all about control and 'controlling the narrative.'  Money is a joke to people who have it.  It's just a useful tool for more important things...and a select few who print the stuff have as much as they need to make almost anything they want happen.

Yes we are, however I also think that it in most cases is not intentional. We as humans tend to want to be told what to do and think, why? It's just easier. We like to make things easy and not think in most cases. The difference is really a state of mind. Switch of the TV, stop listening to the news, radio, social media feeds. Choose to learn and listen to what interests you instead. The amount of information forced into our consciousness is too much for us to handle. We have evolved to heed advice and information given to us in order to survive in our locality. We are now forced (ever more with media and social media) to worry about things we have no or little control over.

Of course we are brainwashed: from parents, teachers, media, opinion leaders...
But we are more brainwashed by our genetic inheritance and by  our unconscious drives.

We collectively thought that Steve Jobs is a great man even though we knew he made billions of the back of children or maybe it is that it feels that all our heroes are counterfeit. The world itself is just one  big hoax. Spamming with our running commentary of masquerading as insight, our social media faking as intimacy. I'm not saying anything new. We all know why we do this not because Hunger Games books makes us happy but because we wanna be sedated.

Group affected by CIA brainwashing experiments wants public apology, compensation from government

A group of Canadians affected by CIA brainwashing experiments conducted at McGill University's Allan Memorial Institute met for the first time on Sunday to start organizing for a public apology and compensation from the federal government through a possible class-action.

Around 40 people gathered at a Montreal condo to share their stories, cry and support each other. The pain, many said, was palpable in the room.

"The government should offer an apology and there should be recognition of the injustice that was done," says Gina Blasbalg, who became a patient at the Allan in her teens in 1960, and drove with her husband from Richmond, B.C., to attend the weekend meeting.

Survivors Allied Against Government Abuse (SAAGA), as the group calls itself, includes both victims and family members of people who were unwitting participants in brainwashing experiments conducted under the supervision of Dr. Ewen Cameron, director of the psychiatric hospital between 1943 and 1964.

Cameron, co-founder of the World Psychiatric Association and president of various other psychiatric associations over his career, ran "depatterning" and "psychic driving" experiments that attempted to erase a patient's memories and reprogram them with new thoughts.

He tested experimental drugs like LSD and PCP, medically induced sleep for extended periods, and oversaw extreme forms of electroshock therapy and sensory deprivation. Many of his patient's brains were then left damaged.

The federal government provided Cameron with more than $500,000 between 1950 and 1965 — $4 million in today's dollars — along with a smaller amount of funding from the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency, using a front organization called the Society for the Investigation of Human Ecology.

Today, many people argue that Cameron's experiments are part of the foundation for contemporary psychological torture techniques.

Janice Shaw explained that she and her siblings all had extremely difficult childhoods without their mother, but now they are relieved to know that there are other people to talk to who went through similar experiences.

The sisters and their two brothers were placed in foster care because their mother was incapable of raising them after her stay at the Allan Memorial Institute. A few days ago, they received some of their mother's medical records from the Department of Justice. One of the documents was a handwritten letter by their mother outlining her experience at the Allan.

Intrigued by case of compensation Sunday's gathering would not have happened without CBC News investigative journalist Elizabeth Thompson. She regularly checks the government public account records for story ideas, and noticed a line about compensation for someone who had been depatterned at the Allan Memorial Institute.

Federal government quietly compensates daughter of brainwashing experiments victim Thompson, who grew up in Montreal and worked for local newspapers, knew the history of the Allan Memorial Institute and was intrigued.

She called Montreal lawyer Alan Stein, who has represented numerous survivors of the Allan, and he confirmed that one of his clients, Alison Steel, was the person who received the compensation last year — long after her father first attempted to get compensation in the 1990s.

They had reached an out-of-court settlement with the Canadian justice department in exchange for dropping the lawsuit, and Steel had to sign a non-disclosure agreement.

The recent CBC News articles and The Fifth Estate documentary Brainwashed led to a flood of emails from victims and their families. People wanted to know how to access medical records and compensation, and more than anything they wanted to connect with each other. Steel agreed to talk with them so The Fifth Estate sent along their emails.

Trudeau government gag order in CIA brainwashing case silences victims, lawyer says "For awhile there I was receiving two or three calls per day," Steel says. "People didn't want to talk about it, but now they are realizing that so many others are in the same boat."

At the meeting, Steel was overwhelmed that everyone had finally come together.

Last February, they organized a private Facebook group and came up with a name. They created SAAGA, with the goal of seeking justice, a public apology and compensation.

Help in launching class-action suit SAAGA announced at the Sunday meeting that Stein has agreed to assist the group in launching a class-action lawsuit to sue the Canadian government, maybe also the Quebec government and the Allan Memorial Institute. It would first have to be approved by the Quebec Superior Court, which could take four to six months, Stein said.

In an email, the Justice Department told CBC News that a 1986 inquiry by George Cooper into Cameron's depatterning work "concluded that Canada did not hold any legal liability or moral responsibility in respect of these treatments."

"As this matter may be before the courts it would be inappropriate to comment further."

The Fifth Estate began exposing wrongdoing at the Allan Memorial Institute in 1980 and continues to follow this story. We are in the process of building a website where we will gather together the stories of patients who underwent the brainwashing experiments, and their families.

Secularism doesn't have room for brainwashing Because it's required to change it's position on finding new facts. Unlike religions who refuse to challenge their own ideas 'because holy book/person said so'. Brainwashing happens when you refuse to accept outside information as true, even if it has been proved to be. My European/Western society doesn't do that, theocracies do. Yes there are still some problems in the West, but I wouldn't call it brainwashing .

I live in Europe and here it's brainwashing all the time from LGBT, Dawkins and other religios figures shown in media all the time
