While we are working on the Minereum roadmap tasks, we are also working on a parallel project. We are now in a conceptualization stage that we can release this information to the public.

Our Team is working on a new version of Minereum. This new version will bring many improvements to the Smart Contract Mining concept, including the possibility for everyone to mine by themselves (not public mining like the recent experiment).

This new project will be a new Token and Minereum Holders will have the option to convert MNE to this new token.

Minereum itself will not be affected and will keep running and the planned tasks from the roadmap remain.

Just a simple question regarding new token idea which is to be released in future parallel with Minereum. Why not to keep focusing on Minereum and planned features instead of spending your time and energy on totally new thing while first one is not completed yet.

It's an interesting concept and I guess this increases the urge to start accumulating MNE's as fast as possible to play both coins when it happens.
Good reassurance that the roadmap on MNE will not change but curious about the roadmap and purpose of the new coin.
But pls do not stray from the current path of development! We are still anticipating the bigger exchange ... and the GPS tool to arrive this fall.

so its swap like or split like eth etc..must do a choice ? my old genesis address will be disabled or i can keep it and continu at mine MNE ?


edit: i think i understand..the new genesis token will be to buy with MNE..so genesis holder can send their MNE for get new genesis token address..and others peoples must get MNE for buy new genesis token add.

id like to understand this further as someone without a massive background in this.  Lets say I have 200 MNE coins on Livecoin.  How exactly would I transfer those coins to the new coin?  Is the exchange rate going to be 1 for 1?  What are the pros/cons of the new coin vs the old coin?  Will the old coin still be developed?

I suppose this is an intelligent move. Minereum being a token and having already been distributed it means you can't update the code as you would be able to with a normal coin. Ethereum contracts are 'immutable' unless you are Vitalik himself in which case you can just hardfork.

All dev can do is add functionality in the form of services, if dev needs things the token doesn't currently do all they can do is swap it for a another one.

For all the questions: wait for the dev update

Nothing will be lost, Minereum will continue as planned.

The only difference is that most likely a significant amount of MNE will be burned, means there will be less MNE in circulation after we launch the new token.

The more MNE you have the more new token units you will be able to acquire.

This is wonderful decision waiting to see when that secret will be revealed and how much MNE will be required to make it mining machine with new concept. I believe in this token that have bright future and now great time to buy more.

What is the timeframe for the release? a week, a month, a year?

Few weeks, we cannot comprise yet with a certain date.

We aim by maximum end of August to have everything ready.

Please read the announcement first before anyone suggests this is bad for MNE. Dev will commit to the roadmap of MNE so development will continue and nothing changes about the purpose of MNE in the future. The new coin will have a different purpose and it's interesting to invest in both. Since the new tokens can be acquired with MNE's it's very interesting to start trading and accumulating more MNE's to exchange some for the new token. It's not a case of this or that since both will probably have a bright future.

Keep the spirit! Start buying and probably a higher MNE price will get you more of the new coins anyway! See it as an ICO where youhave to buy tokens with MNE (instead of ETH). Who want to get in needs MNE first!!

I would like to encourage everybody to keep focussed and to keep in mind what made you deciding to support MNE in the first place.

If you read carefully with full attention what Minereum's dev has written you will realize what wonderful it is. It will help Minereum to be more valuable while new token which will use MNE as fuel or burn them to reduce the supply permanently, new token will be useful for new people to mine through some mechanism which dev will announce at some point. Maybe you should stop Trading cryptocurrency because ethereum, the second largest market cap coin, literally dropped 50% in the past few weeks you act like mne is the only coin suffering from a pullback. By the way it's cheap now. Looks like all the people fudding mne really completed their goal they got cheap coins from the people who fell for the BS.

Also this new coin, and its very existence,  is going to be tied to. That means that this coin including all new coins are going to require mne. At this rate the developers will be releasing new projects by the week every single one of them will require the main token mne to function. What do you think this will do the price? This Thread is nearly 300 pages long and always on the front page. In the future the more projects there are the more people are going to be wanting this coin. Does this ring any bells to you? It looks a lot like the beginning of aetherium to me. Except for it doesn't have to pass the hurdle of expanding its own network to survive it already bypass that by running on gas. Literally all this coin has to do to blow up is just exist. Think outside the box.
