If you look at more then 3 months back or better at January this year you will see that all coins are going up some in small percentage other in very large ones (i mean some went over 200 - 300 or even more in %). Off course if someone invested then now can laugh at us all cuz he made right choice with some coin.
when bitcoin start increasing then altcoin stop or reduce their increasing speed, in fact most of the people invest their money in bitcoin and they do not give any prefer to bitcoin, but when the price of bitcoin become a little stable the people start taking interested in alt coin.

yes there are so many potentially good altcoin, but still not a single one can compare with bitcoin. bitcoin is number one crypto currency and hopeful that bitcoin will remain as number one currency of the world .

I think those altcoin will stay as altcoin that is why they are called altcoin because they are just alternative.. unless if the whole blockchain network was destroy maybe the other altcoin will be replace the bitcoin.. but i think it is impossible to happen since many people are hoping for future about bitcoin ..

I have been seeing Bitcoins' price rising with a stability in its growth, but due to the higher mining fee that is being levied on transactions these days, big businesses are now moving their funds towards alts and taking advantage with their least fees as well as shaping a completely new economy in the trends of altcoin markets. Do you think this may harm Bitcoin's dignity and open up a chance in real for alts to rise?
As the price of bitcoin keeps growing I think it will be impossible for many users of countries with low income to keep using bitcoin, not only for the fees but the price in itself, just look at the price right now and if some of the prediction come true about the future price of bitcoin, then things are going to become even worst.

That is one of the things that we need to consider for bitcoin, most of the people that i know also want to use bitcoin as their currency but the problem is, they can't afford such thing like the regular fees when they are doing transaction and also the continuous rising for the price of bitcoin which is not affordable anymore for other people.

Yes I also believe that is one of the main problems bitcoins has at this very moment. However I think if we manage to come up with a viable solution to this matter bitcoin will somewhat remain it's dominance. But as long as these problems aren't fixed altcoins are good investments and that's why we see alot of money being pumped into altcoins right now.

Well in my own opinion for me its impossible to me that altcoin will have a chance in the future to beat bitcoin since bitcoin is always in the top and if there is no bitcoin those altcoin will never be alive.. We are lucky that we have bitcoin and i think bitcoin should be increase more value than altcoin that honestly still no well know shop or store online are accepting altcoin except for cellphone unlock online...

No that is not possible and that is only ideal thinking because it is not possible that people of the world will use almost all of the coins for their international transactions only that coin will be the best which the majority of the people will use while the remaining will be just the following and will run behind it. Which nowadays is bitcoin.

I think if an altcoin is going to rival bitcoin it will need to do something unique, have a specific purpose and not just be a copycat of bitcoin.
ETH as an example is doing just that, I do think at some point we will see a newcomer that will outshine bitcoin but when is the question.
Agreed. And, as there is a lot of new money moving into digital currencies now, the opportunity exists for an alt coin to 'outshine' bitcoin. The key is wiifm (what's in it for me?)... what is the new money looking for? Buy to hold, trade for quick profits, exchange, etc, etc..

In my opinion, we can pretty much tell that there are more possibilities, in which some other cryptocurrency will get advantage over the bitcoin. The thing is, that we currently witness that bitcoin dominance is around 51% level. It means that almost the half of the overall cryptocurrency market capitalization is ruled by altcoins, so I can really see some chances for altcoins against bitcoin: answering that question.
I think that Monero is a great enemy of bitcoin, because the anonymousness is much better on this particular cryptocurrency. Also, it is pretty funny that Ripple is #2 in market capitalization, but it is a product of banks.

to me very honestly there is no doubt that alts have chance to overcome bitcoin. but in fact bitcoin is still too far from alts which is look like impossible that they will ever overcome them. on other side the users of bitcoin are continuously increasing which is also making bitcoin more stronger against the alt coins. hope that in future bitcoin will remain as the most popular and dominant currency of the world.

No altcoin is in a position to replace bitcoin.Higher transaction fees has become a big issue in the adoption of bitcoin. But altcoins which offer low transaction fees alone is not enough to attract new companies towards it.Bitcoin has been well established as a digital currency and is rapidly gaining trust all over the world. So thre is no substitute for bitcoin now.

No altcoin is in a position to replace bitcoin.Higher transaction fees has become a big issue in the adoption of bitcoin. Some altcoins are offering alternatives way to avoid the big transaction fees and fast delivered just in some minutes. But altcoins which offer low transaction fees alone is not enough to attract new companies towards it.Bitcoin has been well established as a digital currency and is rapidly gaining trust all over the world.
Because bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency which had dominated the market since 2009 and it's more familiar without those are a lack of knowledge about bitcoin. So thre is no substitute for bitcoin now.
Not for the substitution but the possibility of altcoin to be a competitor for bitcoin itself.

I'll write my opinion here. Well, maybe we can say that some altcoins have better abilities, are better and easy for transaction but years showed us how secure bitcoin and it's wallet is. Many company invested in bitcoins like bitfury, bitmain, coince and etc. So it gained trust and nowdays we see that even starbucks accepts bitcoin and also we can buy gift cards with btc. Trust is hard part always and bitcoin gained and deserved it, so only future can show us if alt will change regular bitcoin, nowdays we can answer this question no.
