The one chance I see for an altcoin to succeed is the fees for bitcoin transactions keeps getting higher. This could discourage the use of bitcoins for small transactions.
Sometimes i convert my bitcoin to altcoin and then send it to another exchange. I do this because to avoid the higher bitcoin transaction fees

Well thats very strange. I never heard of anyone changing to Altcoins only because to avoid the transaction fee. Also the fee is so minimal and the hassle to convert bitcoin to altcoin or vice versa is  not worth it.

When the bitcoin transaction fee gets bigger it might make bitcoin users a bit uncomfortable. Because of course it will be a little detrimental to them and maybe they will think to use altcoin

That is what the most concerned topic right now which is the increasing fee of bitcoin transactions that is around or more $1 per transaction and for a wise money saver that is a very expensive fee and that is why some of the cryptocurrency user choose altcoin that is cheaper in fees and also faster but this is just temporary problem and soon it will be fixed by the core team.

Indeed now have the cost of transactions that bitcoin is quite high, but it is not a bad thing for those who can benefit greatly in the bitcoin. You are trying to view the prices and compare it to now bitcoin price bitcoin in years yesterday. Then if anyone buys some bitcoin, then store it until now so they can get an advantage is very large. So, a big advantage with transaction costs just $1 is not the big fella. So, upgrade your fortune and holding your mindset

There are altcoins that provide no fee transaction, but I too don't think people move towards such altcoins for saving the fee. If that's true the user will be experiencing a loss when he make a conversion through the exchange. Also potential altcoins are there, but no altcoins have the strength to compete and overcome bitcoin.

If you look at more then 3 months back or better at January this year you will see that all coins are going up some in small percentage other in very large ones (i mean some went over 200 - 300 or even more in %). Off course if someone invested then now can laugh at us all cuz he made right choice with some coin.
Many of the alts have made a very successive progress with the increase in the prices but at the same time there are some alts which have just disappeared from the market (one good proof is poloniex delisted some big number of altcoins). They are considered as dead now.

I am not sure whether you will agree or not but I guess the bitcoin that we have worth a lot respective of the alts.

Its really difficult to predict what will happen in the future...but if there is one thing i can predict would be that bitcoin is certainly here to stay. its value is simply based on scarcity and its name and brand. Nothing new in bitcoin infact it's high transaction fee and time for confirmation makes it suck. but my prediction is that none will overtake it, but many will come close for example ethereum, wave, dash and maybe some new innovation in the future. but i wouldn't put all my eggs on bitcoin alone. its too risky for me.

Yes, I do see that. Bitcoin is very obsolete compared to other cryptos such as ethereum or litecoin. They are much better with good technology and algorithm.
Bitcoin is not obsolete, what happens is a lot of money moves in bitcoin, so it is no longer an experiment out of the mind of a genius, now it is a business, and no one wants to destroy it so any change is very difficult to do since there are a lot of interest going on at the moment.

it was not obsolete , bitcoin just having problem on how processing the larger transaction volume nowadays and it's causing a heating debate since few months ago. while other altcoin have an almost instant withdrawal , bitcoin struggle to increase the transaction fee to make the transaction processed faster . that's make bitcoin left behind and it's doesnt mean bitcoin obsolete or something.

ROFL. We all have to admit that the bitcoin transaction fee is not as comfortable as it used to be in the past anymore. Bitcoin is becoming more and more expensive and I dont think that it is a good crypto. Bitcoin is gold and no one will use gold for payment method

Altcoin can be a quick source of income for everyone. However, each altcoin can not make long-term profit, it only existed and developed mutation in a short time, then stopped. Conversely, bitcoin is a stable currency, it is high value and popular. Bitcoin is always a good investment choice.

I honestly think so, after the blockchain is overloaded by the unconfirmed transaction, the fee is now drastically increasing and it's such a pain in the ass. I still remember a good day when 0.0002 as a fee is considered as high and will get confirmed immediately, but now. It's as low as 0.0005 or above if you want your transaction to be confirmed within next 3 block, the recommended is no2 240sats/byte. Well.

Bro, people literally used to use gold for payment method. And then people made fiat money for gold to have an equivalent which isn't as heavy to carry around. It was after the Nixon Shock when fiat wasn't backed by gold anymore.

You actually know that a cryptocurrency is good when it's becoming more and more expensive. It means that people are buying it and if you bought the coins before, then you've already made profit. Btw, bitcoin is not gold. It's just referred to gold so what's happening with gold doesn't really strongly correlates with what's going to happen with bitcoins. In other words, they are two different things.

Bitcoin is the top dog till further notice.

ALL crypto currencies trade INTO bitcoin, this is not a debate

Also, NO alt coin comes CLOSE to bitcoins brand awareness and market penetration...nothing.
This can change obviously, but as of now...this isnt close

I do think there will be a number of coins that will live side by side with bitcoin, they will need to offer something.

For instance, bitcoin as a store of value vs bitcoin for every day use.

I think an alt coin can not compete with bitcoin as a store of value BUT one will have to rise up as an every day coin, and that would mean it would have to play nicely with bitcoin.

Yes the transaction fees and needless delays in confirmation are now obvious as the bane of Bitcoin in the crypto business. And very soon, it shall totally destroy the general interest people have in Bitcoin. I have an unconfirmed transaction since 11 May. Not still resolved. But I have let it be since it isn't much. Whether it confirms or not now, I am not going to bother myself any more.

Yes, I think some altcoins have a good chance of knocking the Bitcoin out. It's just a matter of time. Already the dominance of bitcoin has dwindled to less that 60% as against almost 90% early this year.

Alt-coins are permitted to be high rated but can not bit down Bitcoin from its position. Just like dollars which is generally accepted to buy and sell goods in the international market so is Bitcoin a major coin for crypto-transaction other than the alt-coins.

Everybody who uses bitcoin for underground transactions, however, does not prove the power of bitcoin, it just demonstrates bitcoin's usability. Altcoins can completely replace bitcoin in tacit transactions. However, people still use bitcoin, because they make money from it.
