Hard to speculate about future. We all can see that bitcoin right now is not exactly the best payment option or a currency.
BTC is better suited to be an safe haven asset, capital investment and long term option for hoarders.
Bitcoin is not doomed yet (Japan adoption!), there is still time to fix scaling problem and reach total dominance over altcoins.
But if the scaling war will continue for extended period of time, it is possible that ETH, LTC or DASH will take over BTC dominance.

I share your views. I have a Business idea I'm still thinking of now, and the payment method I wanted to use was Bitcoin, but with recent high transaction fees and delayed transaction confirmation, I'm considering using ETH. I believe so many businesses are thinking towards that direction as well. If Bitcoin wants to maintain dominance. they should fix all these problems.

The trend now is when bitcoin rise altcoins dump, that's how investors work because they want to ride on those who pump, they make money doing it consistently so why would they change their system. No i don't think so i mean if you see bitcoin is legend and the only unique coin the alts are just their to give it some sort of competition and nothing else. It's just like gold, there are different diamonds like ruby, sapphire but in the end gold is the one who is leading at the end of the day. All the altcoins are just trying to catch up to the bitcoin they have struggled for years now to be like the bitcoin but they always fail, however they may not seem like they are doing much right now but in the long term they may become worthful since the market cap for bitcoin is limited.

So, when there is no more bitcoin to mine it will get very expensive and that means that people won’t be able to get as much as they do now, which means they are going to search for alternatives, and then they will rise.

No bitcoin left to mine is impossible as the difficulty increases every time so at a point of time people will surely stop mining and mostly the coin will be abandoned and people will start showing interest for altcoins. All the altcoins also have a limited market cap but compared to bitcoin they have many years to be fully mined.

I Dont think so. The fact that bitcoin price is rising right now it will have big impact for the bitcoin user. Even though it has a high fee. alt coin will still below the bitcoin. Yes we can not trust any digital currency for a long time. Today Bitcoin is ruling digital currency world and day by day the popularity of bitcoin is increasing all over the globe. And many new alts are entering this digital world. And some more already become popular in the market. So anything can happen in future any alt can replace bitcoin.

Having a great feature with a certain altcoin will take it to the top.
Example is anpopular MMORPG game which uses that altcoin to buy premium items or a VIP.

Highly unlikely that it will happen overnight. It is not impossible, but it will take time.

Now that Bitcoin is down to 46%, there will be more movements towards Altcoins to replace it. Also showing that ETH is becoming much more viable for trading and day to day transactions.

The altcoins have a really great potential when it coins in success but the bitcoin price was so successful in the market and almost 3000$ and still increasing so the altcoins still almost impossible to surpass the bitcoins so i would say no chances for the altcoins but still they are great in making profits so better invest before its too late.

Maybe you guys are right and there is a chance for altcoin to overthrow bitcoin, but i do not think it will be an easy fight... for altcoin that is. For nowadays alternative coin which has very great potential to compete bitcoin(if we compare with hundreds other altcoin) is ethereum. Based on market cap, ethereum is about $17.4 billion USD that number is only 43.7 percent of market cap bitcoin which about $39.8 billion USD. From that data ethereum strong enough at this time. But i believe that bitcoin won't collapse by alt coin and will always be a number one.
