Seems to me like Leicester has given up chasing the upper midtable and has accepted placing wherever this group of players they currently have will take them.  I really thought Brendan Rodgers could take them higher at the table eventually.  And the club tried to stick with him too...  But to no avail.

You didn't understand what happened with Todd about keeping Graham Potter more than expected even when he was producing a totally undesirable and inconsistent result.
Todd didn't want to follow the steps of his predecessor who loves to dire coaches within a twinkle of an eye.

I’m unsure what kind of impact they are expecting Dean Smith to have. I think they just got desperate and panicked, maybe they are hoping for a new manager bounce which seems to happen so often. Luckily for them it’s so close down at the bottom, any kind of mini run of good norm, a few wins etc would take them out of the relegation zone.

In some ways the bottom of the table is more exciting than the top at the moment. It’s so close, there will be lots of drama down there right up until the final day of the season.

I think it is about the new manager bounce as you call it. At least he has been constantly coaching in the Premier League and has gone through similar situations before.

One of the problems you have when your team is performing so badly is that you have to find a good manager who is actually willing to take over in the first place. I'd suppose that the number options is limited from the get-go once you sacked the last one and your team is in shambles.

He still is most likely not the perfect candidate that Leicester had been looking for. Signing a manager who screwed it up in The Championship is never a first choice manager I would say.

After previously it was rumored that Gavi was with Bayern Munich, now it is Chelsea's turn to become interested in the services of this young player. It was even reported that Gavi's agent and representatives from Chelsea had met in Madrid. This further reinforces the rumors that are happening now and the possibility that if there are no more obstacles then Gavi will go to the EPL next summer.

Right now there is some talk about Gavi and Chelsea but in this case I still feel it would be a shame if Gavi would go to Chelsea because of course even Chelsea are pretty good but I think Gavi is pretty special.
On the other hand, if this possibility is true, then surely there will be a number of conditions where Chelsea sells some of their players and of course Kovavic and Mount are now possible to be let go, especially with contracts that are about to expire and Chelsea and Mount's problems are still not showing good to finish.
