So in your opinion, is it likely that the current Coach will still survive? Because the problem is the Council with the club. If the problem is the Council, I don't understand to that extent. What I see is a coach who is unable to bring back Manchester United to compete with other big clubs in the EPL.

I didn't imply that he current coach will not be axed, it's very likely he would lose his job if Manchester United fail to achieve a minimum of 4th position this season or a league or cup trophy.
I was suggesting that at some point, the club needs to try fixing something else if constant rotation of managers and players is not getting the job done.

The problem these days has to do with clubs/fans wanting instantaneous result. Klopp's Liverpool didn't get where they are over a fortnight, it took time and should Klopp leave today, I doubt Liverpool would have much to worry about over the next three seasons. Man Utd needs to get a coach in whose ability and football philosophy they believe in, then, entrust him with the WHOLE process. but that has seemed to be too much for the club
Thats the game for you this days, even the smaller teams sack their managers after few bad games, and you wonder what they expected the manager to do with the players at his disposal. Liverpool's case is kinda different as klopp has been able to get the team playing the way he wants then to, he is able to elicit great performances from them.

United do not have to stay so long away from the "top" to get back the quality performances they were known for in the past, their players do not just seen to have the desire or the traditional united flair to perform at the top of their game, they need a manager that'll spur their players on to perform, just look at what pep is doing at City as a perfect example.

If anyone is interested but I doubt it  Grin

Mandzukic is very close to signing for Qatar, he refused Premier Barca, PSG, and some smaller team and now maybe he goes there on next days.
He refused top teams in Europe to maybe go on the very low-value game.
Is only about money or he notices too late that is no more spot for him on this new Juventus?

The main target is to reach the top 4 for next season to be able to perform at UCL and to get the Cup this season is difficult, but it could happen in the future. What is certain for now is a good performance, so that every game can get a win. And the position of the Coach can be safe for a while.

That makes sense, sometimes we are still confused. What's wrong with you. Complete players for each line, but the results are not satisfying.

I think the next EPL manager to be given the sack is...  Nuno Espirito Santo.  Such a disappointing start to their campaign.  And I don't think they'll be able to handle competing in the Europa League at the same time, being at the bottom of the EPL.

He knows that he is not going to be on the first line up if he joins PSG or Barcelona.
So he prefers to go to Qatar and get money while still playing competitive football.

De Gea signs new four-year deal with Man Utd

Just saw this news during the build up to Aston Villa vs West harm game, De Gea has already spent 8years at Manchester United don't think this was the right decision for him. Manchester United aren't on their best form recently meaning, the chances of them winning any trophy be it this season or next is unlikely. He would had been far better playing for a club ready for his talent during the next transfer window.

Haven't read the article to see the reason behind this decision but I don't buy into it. What's your take, was it the right decision or a mistake he'll regret sooner or later.

In my opinion, he blew his chance on his own. He could have been a much big player in, I'm really sorry Man Utd fans, much bigger club. When it was a moment for him, he could've started the international journey and went to, for example, Real Madrid. Now he's in, I'm really sorry Man Utd fans, kind of mediocre European club that still needs a lot of progress, while De Gea is not getting younger any days.

He will turn 29 in November and his last big trophy comes from 2013 when he was still a prospect. It's really great from him that he has respect for this club and its big tradition but tradition doesn't bring you any trophies.

There is nothing wrong with De Gea's new contract at Manchester United, in our opinion it is not very appropriate for his career development. But this is the reality and the choice. Previously, many spoke here that Juventus was interested in recruiting de Gea. But with his new contract at United States, of course, that is a mere rumor.

Wow! Nuno at 16/1 looks really tempting, i wouldn't mind putting $10 on it, you just never know  Roll Eyes

But I think the Wolves board will give him more time, the team is just 4 pts behind the teams in mid-table and 5 pts behind the top 6. Season just started, it's not like Wolves needs good results right from the get-go. I think the main objectives this year are: 1) europa league spot in the EPL at the end of season, 2) top 8 or top 16 in europa league, and 3) semis or a final in one of the domestic cups. Wolves are in the race in every item. Right now, they just need to start winning league games.

^  It's gonna hard giving somebody more time if they're at the bottom of the table (and threatened to be relegated).  And they spent a ton on transfers ofr the past couple windows...

The Wolves execs should act fast imo.

Seems like De Gea is now emotionally connected to Manchester United and he signs an new contract.
He probably wants to retire from that team and he doesn't care about winning any trophies, as he stays in a club which is not in competitive mode or can win any cup with the players and the material they have.

De Gea is wasting his career at Man Utd, he’s now spending the best years of his career in a team that isn’t competing for titles. I wonder if he has a release clause in that contract.

De Gea is wasting his career at Man Utd, he’s now spending the best years of his career in a team that isn’t competing for titles. I wonder if he has a release clause in that contract.
David de Gea said "truly an honor to continue my career at MU", this shows that staying at MU is what David wanted and there was no pressure from anyone.  I really appreciate David's decision..  I'm very optimistic, MU in the future will again become the king of EPL.

I wonder if he had any other offers from big clubs.
It seems like this was his biggest offer and he made the best choice for him, not for the club. Hopefully, he is going to be recognized as a legend in Manchester United.

Do you think the same as I do. That it was a mistake that Jovic went to Real Madrid. I think the have potential, has a feel for the goal, but it won't work in such a big club. He might just fall for that, he needed to go to a smaller club to get experience. Do you agree with my opinion and why not?

I think De Gea’s new deal has something to do with the enormous pay rise Man Utd offered him Wink

Can't be sure about that, but if that's true, then Man United don't have any alternative for a goalie it seems. Will they continue overpaying a player until they retired?

I thought they want to 'follow' what most top clubs are doing right now, looking for a young player to nurture and make them loyal, so they don't have to overpay to keep other clubs from buying them.

I wonder what happened with the Neymar's case.
So many rumors for him all the summer and finally we didn't see any move or any transfer of him to Barcelona.
His career is going to be so destroyed if he doesn't get a transfer during the winter transfer.

I do not think so, Neymar may not be happy with the fact that he could not get his desired move away from PSG, but he is also a professional and would do his job when called upon. I think Neymar is going to see this as a second chance/bite of the cherry to try and endear himself to the PSG supporters.

The only problem would be if the coach doesn't play him often which is possible based on the uproar he and his transfer saga caused, I think we should just wait till Neymar is fit again and see if he still remains in Thomas Tuchel's plans, looking at his mammoth weekly paycheck, he just has to be and he knows he has to perform this time around.
