They did win the match in the last round of the group stage so that Manchester City managed to advance to the next round through the playoffs, but if you look at their performance in the match, there are many changes that need to be made. For the attack line, I think the players owned by Manchester City are still quite good and what they need to fix are the defenders and the midfield because in several previous matches the performance of the players in those positions was less than optimal. The transfer market must be utilized well by Manchester City because now they are more focused on improving the quality of the team to be better after experiencing a previous setback in the Premier League.
Perhaps Manchester City is facing many other problems. Probably the management and low player confidence. The squad that Manchester City has is deep and also a quality one from Defence through midfield to the striking department. Give that team to any other good manager and they will produce good result. I feel that even if they went to market and bought more players, their inconsistent performance may not change throughout the season. Let's see how things go through the season

Another potential player have to leave Europa that it is confirmed that Aston Villa player Jhon Duran will go to Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr and if we see from the amount of transfer fee this is good deal for Aston Villa because Al Nassr is dare to spend 77 million to get Jhon Duran and tomorrow he will went to Saudi Arabia for medical check and signing new contract with Al Nassr
Yep. It is reported that Al Nassr and Aston Villa have reached an agreement for the transfer fees about €77 million. It is surely a quite big amount of money for a 21 striker who has a market value around €40 million only. But Al Nassr must have no problem with the big money, they have almost unlimited money. And they may prepare this young striker to replace Ronaldo's role. I suspect Al Nassr won't extend Ronaldo's contract. Jhon Duran is still young 21 years old and i know Jhon Duran lost to compete with Ollie Watkins for Aston Villa front lines because seems Unai Emery is more likely to trust Ollie Watkins rather than him but i have no wonder because in the term of scores goals Ollie Watkins is much better than him but why Jhon Duran choose Al Nassr because i think his talent is still deserved to playing at European clubs
Of course, Duran will have no chance to replace Watkins. Watkins is one of the top strikers in EPL, he also still has a long contract with Aston Villa (expires in 2028). If Duran stays in Aston Villa, he can't improve much his ability because he mostly will spend the time on the bench. But if he moves to Al Nassr, he will be the main striker when Ronaldo leaves the club. If there is no contract extension, Ronaldo will leave Al Nassr in June 30, 2025 (this year).

Al Nassr has the goal to finally add younger players that the young people in their country can better identify with. If they only sign these senior players who are about to retire, then it has the advantage that they already built their reputation, but the disadvantage that they will soon be gone. If they can now successfully sign younger great talents, these players can grow a community within Saudi Arabia for a longer period of time. I think to a certain degree the Saudi clubs have to get away from this image that they only sign players who are in it for the paycheck and then say goodbye to the sport two years later.

We have seen with Chelsea that they bought so many good players but they just didnt go with the style or the league or whatever else. So i think it will take sometime for Man City to play good like they did before. Guardiola can make the team good again but just needs more time

My conclusion is that the signing of Omar Marmoush, Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis is enough for the Cityzens. By the time other key players return from injuries, there will be good backup.
I still feel Manchester City needs a midfielder. If they can't get a DM, then they can get a CM that is a ball winner and also technical on the ball. Gundugan and KDB are not young anymore, they can't run for 90 minutes and keep pressing for 90 minutes, and they'll get tired. The midfielder finds it difficult to win balls back from their opponent. Bernardo Silva is okay for pressing but he won't be able to do it alone, plus he's not a pure ball winner, unlike Rodri. Another reason why I think they should have gotten a midfielder is because there is no certainty that no other player will get injured and if any of the available midfielder gets injured there will be a problem.

L'Équipe claims that Juventus is thinking of replacing Motta with Xavi. Do you believe the rumour? Honestly I don't. At least I don't want to. Because it is too early to make such change. I don't think this is the same situation with the sacking of Nuri Şahin by Dortmund. The reason is that Dortmund had a really decent squad to do much more than being a middle-placed team in the standings. However Juventus lack the strength for being a title contender with this squad. I have said many times. A great defense but poor offense. A better AM and CF would make serious difference. Motta should be given budget and then see what he will do later on. Yeah, finally Juventus has some sense to kick Motta out of the club. He's dumb as a coach. Replacing him with Xavi is excellent decision. If they successfully sign Xavi as a new coach, they complete their first task to fix their club. The second task must be selling a lot of their dumb players such as Vlahovic and Douglas. Those guys are disaster and worthy to cash in. I don’t believe the rumors because Motta is a good coach and with good experience too. Since joining Juventus he has managed to improve the team’s playing style and brought in some good signings that have really helped the team get results. Sometimes the change expected doesn’t just come immediately or on a platter of gold it takes time. I suggest a little patience with Motta to revive the team’s confidence and performance.

It is definitely a big rumor and a flat fake one because currently Thiago Motta is one of the most exciting and technically talented coaches that are growing through their ranks. Personally I think Juventus wouldn’t be thinking of losing him most especially since they are on a rebuilding stage. The current fall of juventus definitely isn’t upon Thiago Motta if we look at the current situation that the club is in. Juventus haven’t signed prolific or clinical strikers and attackers and this is where they are lacking at the moment. They have played lots of games in which the defense has been carrying them all long but the attack fails to deliver. So for me I think two or more transfers windows and then they will be well prepared to actually compete for the league

Yes, Man City needs new players on the midfield line. Defensive midfielder and central midfielder, both are needed. Man City only has 1 DM (Rodri), he already got injured for a long time. Not sure if he can return to his best performance again after he recovers. Many players failed to return to their best performance after experiencing too long injured. Meanwhile for the CM, Man City has 3 players but 1 CM is already too old player (Gundogan). I'm not sure Gundogan will still play with Man City in the next 1-2 years. So, Man City needs 1-2 new CM as well.

Minutes ago, I read a report from a very reliable source that Al Nassr have opened talks to sign Nigeria striker Victor Boniface from his German club Bayern Munich it was reported that the Saudi club is trying to sign a perfect replacement for their former striker Anderson Talisca. Though the financial offer wasn't disclosed but since it's coming from a Saudi club for a player of Victor Boniface quality and age, I believe it'll definitely be a tempting and offer and I don't expect the Nigerian to turn it down. I think it'll be a dream come true for Boniface to play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo as his teammate. What do you make of this report? Let me read your thoughts The news of Boniface on the brink of a move to Al Nassr came as a shocker to me because he is still young and already making name in European football with Bayern Leverkusen but recent news from yesterday say the deal has been called off and Al Nassr have not shifted their focus to Duran of Aston Villa. I also hear the deal is progressing well and close to completion.

Moreover, we know that when he lost several figures in the midfield it greatly affected their performance and match results. Regeneration must be done, and I think this is the right time because they still have several experienced players and that will make the stability in the team fine when they bring in young players to be in the squad. Apart from that, young players will also learn a lot from their seniors.

Al Ittihad seems will starting to buy young talented players to regeneration their squad because it says Al Ittihad have reach an verbal agreement to Barcelona player Unai Hernández and according to the news Al Ittihad are agree to pay 4.5 million plus 500.000 ads on for transfer fees and as far i know Unai Hernández is the player from La Masia but unfortunately he still haven't make his debut with Barcelona main squad but i was wondering why he accept the offer from Al Ittihad because he is still 20 years old and deserved to playing at European club but unfortunately Unai Hernández choose Al Ittihad as his next club Good news for Al Lttihad supporters, they are finally catching up with their dream target. A youngster with bright prospects for a good future for the club. After reaching in verbal agreement with Barcelona there is only a few steps away before the deal is sealed and announced. For 4.5 million I feel it is a good deal for the club.

So far Pep Guardiola has recruited 5 players in the January transfer market who are in the back and front lines and there are no signs of recruiting players in the midfield and I doubt Pep Guardiola will do it because it has been recorded that 5 players have entered and the winter transfer window will soon close when entering February so Pep Guardiola will not have much time to add more players, I understand Pep Guardiola prioritizes the back line because so far Man City's defense is a bit weak so Pep Guardiola already knows what to do even though he doesn't recruit midfielders.

It's actually painful to invest so much on a player that you can't utilize as a club, it's just like a wasted investment, so I believe that before this decision of terminating his contract was reached, the hierarchies of Al hilal has given it a proper thought, because it's not an easy decision to make, but I believe that it's a decision that best suit the interest of the club and the player.
Then as for his next possible destination, you have already speculated in the right direction already, the best possible destination for him right now is Santos because no big club in Europe will want to risk so much on someone that is injury prone, someone that is always unavailable for selection, so I believe that for him to even make this Santos move to come to reality, he has to reduce his wages drastically for this move to take place, if not it wouldn't be possible.
Maybe if Neymar was physically strong or if he wasn't so injured then maybe he would have had many personal achievements like Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi but unfortunately he spent most of his career with injuries. He played decent football while he was at Barcelona and we enjoyed his football a lot but after moving to PSG his career started to downfall and he never recovered from there. But Neymar has struggled enough, maybe any other player wouldn't have come back with so many injuries that he would have retired from football, but every time Neymar got injured, he worked harder and recovered himself faster. Now it is normal for Al Hilal to make such a decision because they buy players to play for their team and not to sit on the bench. Injury ruined Neymar's football career and was unable to achieve a lot in football. It's a norm that players brought to a club should be productive, but when he fails to play his role properly, such player will be rejected by the club. Al Hilal has tried their best for Neymar to keep him on bench with fat pay. Letting him go is the best decision. Neymar left Al Hilal and returned to his old club in which he faced huge financial losses. He would have received a lot of money at Al Hilal, a fraction of which he would not have received at that club in Brazil, but he still wants to play football so he accepts these losses. When Neymar first broke into the national team, everyone thought he would be one of the best players in Brazil's history and that he would achieve a lot for the country, but he was unable to do much for himself or the country despite creating so much potential due to constant injuries. With the 2026 World Cup ahead and Neymar's desire to make one last attempt at the 2026 World Cup, he chose a new club at the end of his career to remain injury-free. I hope that he can stay injury free for at least this one season and perform his best in the 2026 World Cup to lead the team to a good position.

Neymar choice to leave Al Hilal and go back to his old club in Brazil is surprise especially since he will lose a lot of money. But it is clear that he loves playing football more than he cares about money. Neymar career has been hurt by many injuries which stopped him from being as good as he could be for himself and Brazilian national team. With 2026 World Cup coming up it is great that Neymar wants to try one last time and help his team do well. By picking new club that can help him stay healthy Neymar is being smart and making sure he is ready for World Cup. I also hope he will stay healthy and play amazingly well in 2026 World Cup.

Do we have any interesting transfers going on right now because January isn't an easy time to get the best player's and I havent been keeping an eye on these one's as I was super busy! Anyway, Just heard Fabrizio say Neymar is going back to his boy child club Santos which is really a sad story for him and a bad investment for his former club..whatever happened to this Lad Is Saudi Arabia going to be making headlines again with their crazy offers, or maybe Neymar has taught them on how to do their homework. A couple of transfer news coming in now and then, as we know the January transfer window is a short and very complicating one, teams are actively making efforts to get signings and recruitment to boost their team strength. It is no longer new that Neymar Jnr has made a move to his boyhood club Santos after his contract was terminated in Saudi Arabia. Also read that Duran if Aston Villa will be joining Ronaldo in Al Nassr this January with a couple of other news going on but not concrete at the moment so we are still watching.

They have already made three signings in this January transfer window, they were unable to play yesterday, but now that they have progressed to the Playoffs, they will be registered and they'll be available in the next round. City have not completely shut the door on another potential signing this month, prolly a right back, since Kyle Walker has left the club for AC Milan this month, Matheus Nunes has been playing at right back, and against a top team with good wingers, that might be a weak link.
It's still not enough because the defense is still very fragile and not as good as the previous season and even I see Abdukodir Khusanov has not fully adapted to Pep Guardiola's strategy because he made a mistake when facing Chelsea, although in the end Manchester City managed to improve and get the win in that match. There are still many things that need to be evaluated because even though Manchester City's performance has improved a little, they still need improvement in several positions and maybe after the three players can adapt well it will make Manchester City's strength even better.

Teams looking to strengthen their squad in the January transfer window must act quickly as the window is very short, with some news coming from reliable sources and the transfer process being true, such as Neymar soon joining his childhood club. Regarding Duran transfer from Aston Villa to Al Nassr, it was very surprising, apart from the player's very young age, the transfer process also cost a lot of money. He is now set to leave English football after Aston Villa agreed a deal from Al-Nassr. Source: FabrizioRomano

Neymar returned to play for Santos, which is the team where he started his career as great player, he really couldn't play well with Al Hilal after the injurie he suffered, especially the ACL injury which meant Neymar had to recover for quite long time. Maybe Neymar will spend the rest of his time with Santos and he will try to give his best for Brazil in the 2026 World Cup before deciding to retire, Santos himself was relegated from the Brazil Serie A in 2023 until last year he was promoted again for 2025 and will return to the competition Serie A, I want to see how Neymar plays for Santos and whether he can help Santos in their efforts to survive in the competition to not be relegated again.

Marcus Rashford future is still unclear, based on my opinion if you look at several interviews where Amorim is very firm if Rashford still does not play to his full potential, then Amorim will not bring him to the field to play. As we know Rashford in the previous coach's era always looked lazy, not optimizing himself but was never given sanctions and now in the Amorim Era it is done firmly. Amorim gave him an ultimatum and there are only 2 choices, leave or improve himself to regain Amorim's trust.
Since the last time he played against Nottingham last December, until now he is no longer bring by Amorim even as a reserve in every of their matches, meaning that Rashford's future at Manchester United is clearly a puzzle at the moment, indeed so far he has been linked with moving to several clubs outside the Premier League but until now thats not yet materialized especially since the transfer market is currently coming to an end, Amorim has made it clear that players who don't perform well will never be included in his squad, so I think Rashford currently only have two options for his career, which is to stay at Manchester United on the condition that he can improve his performance or move to another team on loan or permanently with the option of a salary cut. This saga with Marcus Rashford has been going on for a while and with the transfer window just a few days away from closing I think Manchester United need to move fast in deciding what to do either to sell or keep but seeing the strories and comments going around the internet I doubt Amorim is willing to retain Marcus Rashford and the earlier this matter is cleared out the best for both parties. His choices now are either to improve or leave which I kinda admire about Amorim.

I'm not surprised that he is leaving Al Hilal, I'm surprised that he is long over due before they pronounce his exit because I don't see any reason why a player is sign for a purpose only to be having injuries, wouldn't be able to play and enjoy huge amount of weekly pay check, get special and Vip treatment and get fat like he is almost retired from football, it's better they let him go than be a financial burden to them, let him go was the best decision. Let him go to his first club where he started his career, he should go and retire their in his home country and get some special honour's instead been In Saudi and get attack every day. If not for that injury he is known for, Neymar would have been a perfect combo for Sauidi because only Ronaldo is taking all the credit despite been older, he even outshine Mane and Benzema that used to be the fame of Real Madrid years back, they just sank into the ground.
