The journalism these days are hilarious. I'm getting surprised to see how Palmer is being rumored to join in MUTD just because "he misses his friend". I'm not saying it's impossible, but he's gated with 8 years contract. Even if it's gonna be true, it will be a mega pay day for Chelsea, but only of MUTD is also interesting in acquiring him.

His market price is now 120m, which i think impossible for MUTD's board to pay it. What do you think?
This is the way to increase traffic so that the news that is done has a lot of views no matter whether it becomes bulshit or not Cheesy
In conditions I think we all realize that hijacking players with contracts that are even still very long for now is difficult and surely this will be far above the existing market price and it would be too stupid to force this.
But because the media needs traffic and this winter transfer must remain hot, news that is not too important or even unclear of its source will always be used as headlines.

A few seasons ago we always saw Mbappe before he went to Madrid and the Osimhen drama which is now very difficult to make headlines so surely journalists will look for new targets to increase their traffic.

I just don't want to believe it even if Palmer comes out plainly that he is interested in joining Manchester United. There's no reason to join them at all because currently Chelsea is doing better than Manchester United, they are playing in the champions league and United is not playing in any European competition this season. Missing his friends and home there doesn't mean he wants to join Manchester United but then this is just want journalist's want, to spread rumors. If it happens he wishes to join United then Chelsea are going to cash out big in the deal because of his contract and market value. Manchester United can afford that amount and I am sure they will be interested if Palmer wants that but I don't think all this is true.

and it would be too stupid to force this.
Definitely. Forcing this will be stupid. We have seen some players force a move out and it mostly doesn't end well. I know palmer is a very talented player but he is already doing well at Chelsea. Going to United will mean change of environment and will probably need to adapt and the pressure of being signed with a high fee can also be a problem. Take Isak as an example, used to be one of the hottest in the league but now no where to be found. Happened to Mount as well and didn't end well for him.

After the transfers of Demir Ege and Rafa Silva, Beşiktaş's management no longer has any financial problems. Let's see if they can complete the expected transfers in the final week. A goalkeeper, left back, center back, central midfielder, number 10 and striker are needed as a priority. But this management hasn't even been able to complete a single transfer yet. I think this season will also be a loss. If they fail to qualify for European competitions, next season will also be lost.

Options like goalkeeper Jörgensen, center back Agbadou, left back Nuno Tavares and central midfielder Weston McKennie are being considered. The so-called transfers were supposed to be finalized this week, but we haven't seen a single one yet. I hope it turns out for the best for the team.

Moving to another club isn't entirely foolish some players can achieve better results and perhaps every player who moves to another club has done a lot of careful consideration. Palmer has indeed shown his best qualities at Chelsea, but compared to last season, there's been a slight decline in his performance this season. The examples you mentioned may be true for Isak and Mount, but there are also other players who have moved from their clubs to better careers. This is also due to Manchester United's declining performance over the past few decades preventing some players from reaching their full potential.

It is normal among players to get popular and then push for transfers. This is why football is a business. Teams are also always active in business, selling some players for money sake. So I won't blame him if he decides to leave since he has proven himself already in the team since arriving from Mainz on loan especially after his permanent deal during which he has netted 40 goals in 122 appearance. This is his period now to trying if he could secure one of the top teams just like Eze. Olise gained recognition in crystal palace and left for Bayern Munich, Eze gained recognition and left for Arsenal and now is Mateta.

Crystal palace has raised several great players in recent years right from their struggling days of Zaha from where he secured Galatasaray deal, a Turkish leading team. Mateta is only acting the unwritten script just like many of his teammates. Crystal palace has been struggling since this season and seated on the 13th place on the Epl table. If all these star players keep leaving, crystal palace may be forced back to the team they used to be.
Agents made this possible. Normally 10-20 years ago or before, players wouldn't really have this much power, and wouldn't really "demand" a transfer, because it is a contract and if the team doesn't want to sell you, they don2t have to, and you would be forced to play. Or wait out until your contract runs out, which did happen with Mbappe for example, he wanted to leave but PSG forced him to stay until his contract ended. However, these days players force the teams a lot more often and ask for transfer.

I call that rumor bullshit.  Grin
Why did he sign the 8-year contract in the first place, then? I think he still loves it at Chelsea and possibly sees himself at the club, probably even when he is past his prime, when he will be around 31 years old.

And why would Manchester United go for a player who has 8 years on his contract like there are no other alternatives?
I'd be more interested if Man United were looking for another player with far more potential than signing him from Chelsea. His performances last season were impressive, but I haven't seen his qualities stand out this season and he's even struggling to recover from injury. There are plenty of alternatives if Man United are looking to strengthen midfield and I'm not convinced this player can make a difference. It's better to look for someone who can be utilized for the long term.

Palmer's market value is also still too high and Man United might need other alternatives rather than signing him. He also has a long-term contract with Chelsea, so triggering his release clause would definitely cost a lot of money. We see rumors like this often in the Premier League and while some have come to fruition, I'm not convinced he'll play for Man United.

It was Sky Sports pushing this propaganda yesterday after, they were the first source who dished that out completely. But then, Cole Palmer had Manchester United as his boyhood club while growing up and at the same time had Wayne Rooney as his idol, so expecting  anything  to happen or maybe this was done as a pr to the Chelsea Board and management because, to remind them how much importance he has, I don't really think there's something concrete ongoing.

Definitely. Forcing this will be stupid. We have seen some players force a move out and it mostly doesn't end well. I know palmer is a very talented player but he is already doing well at Chelsea. It must be admitted that playing at Manchester United is full of risks for career development and this has been proven by several players in the past, so now I also think that it is a stupid thing for a player who is currently shining to want to move to Manchester United, it is a very big risk for his career.

What's going on with crystal palace that all their top players are pushing on leaving the club. First they lost Eberechi Eze last summer, Marc Guehi just left for Manchester city and now their striker Mateta has just informed the club he wants to leave the club this January window according to sky sports. With just few days for the window to close. If he leaves the club might not have enough time to find replacement for him. This sudden decision to leave signal that there might be internal fracas within the club. Do you think the club will grant him his wish?

Losing Matera at this point of the season is going to be a big blow to Crystal Palace and it will be very difficult to replace him at this time if he finally leaves the club. I really don't blame him for wanting to leave the club, because it's an opportunity for him to play for a bigger club and also win trophies,  but like you mentioned Crystal Palace lost Eberechi Eze to Arsenal in the summer and they have lost Marc Guehi to Manchester City this transfer window and losing Mateta again is really going to affect the team and I don't think it's a good one for the team. I really don't know what is going on at Crystal Palace, but they need to get it right for the sake of the club and the fans.

This is definitely a lie, even though he is a boyhood Man United but he is  also a professional player who should honor his contract with Chelsea. I'm a bit surprised with the media that's blowing this rumor out of nowhere,  as if they have run out of factual news to write about. I think Man United would consider signing Cole Palmer if Bruno Fernandes had decided to leave the club,  and maybe it will happen someday, but not right now. What Man United needs right now is a defensive midfielder, especially since Casemiro has decided to leave next season.

Transfer market is about market speculation, there is nothing confirm until the real news comes out. The news posted by this blogs are mostly gossip and nothing is real. Sometimes, the agents and friends create this news to enter the mind of people to suit their goals specifically if they want a player to be in a particular club. Don't be surprise that some Palmer fans club want him into Manchester United, they look around the story that will fit the narrative and they made it look like he missed his friends.

Players do have off and on season, Palmer is undergoing one right now. It's not like his contract is overdue, he still has enough time till 2033 and he doesn't get to decide to leave unless he has a connection with another club that want to pay for his release clause, if they want him badly they can get him just like the way Mbape was been force to join Real Madrid back then but I dint think Manchester United has the money to buy any player with exorbitant price.

Yeah I know that Crystal Palace is a selling club and it is the dream of every players to always move to a bigger club when the opportunity arises for them. The big club mean so much for them, bigger competitions is assured, higher pay, improved facilities all these are well noted. My only concern is the timing at which Mateta is asking to leave. Although if I were him I would make same effort not to miss the opportunity but with the position Crystal palace found their self currently losing Mateta will be affect them, that's why I believe Crystal Palace might not accept the transfer request this window.

It's important to remember that Casemiro is now 33 years old and far from his former performance level. Manchester United absolutely needs to replace him with a good central midfielder. However, I don't see the Bruno Fernandes transfer as logical at the moment. Because he will form the most important part of the new manager's attacking force. The Portuguese player is having a successful career at Manchester United, and this performance will only improve. For Manchester United, transfers are primarily focused on defense and midfield. A good playmaker is the most important requirement for Manchester United.

It was Sky Sports pushing this propaganda yesterday after, they were the first source who dished that out completely. But then, Cole Palmer had Manchester United as his boyhood club while growing up and at the same time had Wayne Rooney as his idol, so expecting  anything  to happen or maybe this was done as a pr to the Chelsea Board and management because, to remind them how much importance he has, I don't really think there's something concrete ongoing.
Cole Palmer has been an outstanding player in Chelsea since his arrival in the club and I believe that Chelsea values him a lot and wouldn't let him go soon. It's just that injury affected his performance this season which he's still struggling to be back in form. Manchester United might have interest in him since a new coach is taking over but the decision isn't in their hands to make.

Their is nothing wrong with crystal palace, just that no ambitious player will want to stay at a club that is not ready or planing to win anything, anytime soon. Last season or a year before, if am not mistaken, they beat Manchester City and won the fa cup, but since then, their is no good acquisition into the club, instead they are selling of their best players, so I do not blame mateta for seeking greener pasture elsewhere because crystal palace have shown to be unambitious in the past few years.

I think this rumor will never happen for at least the next two seasons because Cole Palmer has a long contract so his clause must be high.

Cole Palmer is still happy at Chelsea, so offers from other clubs may be rejected.
If this is true there is interest from Man United, maybe the club manager is interested because of his young age and good performance to replace Bruno, it's just that this news is exaggerated.

It will be a bad move if Manchester United buys Palmer. He is not that kind of player that can fit into Manchester United. He will just be like Sancho pro. How many goals and assists has he given to Chelsea since last year, eveytime he battles with constant injuries which makes him misses lot's of match and also he is in a bad form. And most of his goals currently comes from penalties. Manchester United needs players that can decide the outcome of a game and I don't think Palmer can do that. It will just be a waste of money for Manchester United.

Hearing the news that Cole Palmer has started to feel uncomfortable at Chelsea due to the new management under Liam Rosenior is a very natural thing and is felt by several other players as well, such as Enzo Fernandez, who is also currently being approached by PSG.

In performance, Palmer, who has just woken up from injury, must feel a different atmosphere because it is no longer Maresca who is the coach. So he feels that originally he got good treatment but under Rosenior it no longer applies. Wherever he decides to go, I hope a big club can sign him and benefit from his quality as a competent Midfielder.

Shame, I was hoping we would add to the squad.

@FabrizioRomano
🚨 Arne Slot on transfers: “I expect there to be no movement”.

“But if there's an opportunity in the market and we think we can strengthen the squad this club will always try to do so. But at this moment in time, no”.

This rumor won't happen. It's just the work of journalists trying to gain traffic. From a price perspective, it's already unreasonable for Manchester United to buy a player for 120 million. Palmer has a long contract at Chelsea and a very large release clause in his contract. So, it's impossible for Manchester United to activate Palmer's release clause. So, I think it's best to ignore such rumors, as they're unreasonable and will never happen.
