So this transfer will not draw as much attention as both players. The US Major League Soccer would be suitable for players at his level and age. There are speculations that the Florida-based franchise wants Griezmann to move to the club before March 26. But Diego Simeone wants him to remain at Atlético de Madrid till the end of the season. The club is engaged in three competitons so they need all the players.

He is not the same class but he is maybe 1 or 2 levels down below And even if I agree that Ronald and Messi played like aliens and it was different from everything we saw, we know Griezmann was a great player for the tier he was and it did very well even in the French national team. He scored 44 goals and the leading assist provider of the team. He will be missed

Some clubs are fighting their way out while Spurs are losing more games and it is said that Spurs are the only club with a win in this year 2026. They need to get in more players (especially the defense department) and if they manage to bring Antonio Rüdiger who's 32 I believe the defense will be stronger and even better than what we're seeing now... Can they push to get him from Madrid? If I'm not mistaken, last year Rudiger received a one-year contract extension for "past merirs," so it turns out that he will leave as a free agent and almost any club (including Tottenham) will be able to hire him if they offer him a salary that suits the player. In general, this would probably be a strange transfer, as the intensity of the game is higher in the Premier League. But on the other hand, Real Madrid >> Tottenham, so it will be easier for Rüdiger in London. The most important thing is that Tottenham finish the season outside the relegation zone, otherwise this situation could become ridiculous (if the parties reach a preliminary agreement).

Mastantuono seems washed now. He's only playing less than 10 minutes in the last 4 games of Real madrid. So i guess he's just another Endrick. I'm wondering why does he still stay there while he rarely got minutes. He should tell his club if he's keen to be loaned. I think it will far better to develop him, and give him more minutes. I've heard Brighton has an interest to loan him from Madrid. If i were him, i would be telling Madrid to sent me to Brighton. The longer he stays, his career will be worsen. Arbeloa has no interest to play him. So he has to leave and play in another club as loan. So many young talents being treated badly at Madrid. I think they are both at fault: Real Madrid wants to find and buy all the best young players in the world because it's cheaper than buy them later from other teams, and the young players of course want to move to Real Madrid because it's a legendary club. The problem is that none of the parties are ready for this: Real Madrid are not a club where young players have the time to make mistakes and grow, they must perform immediately. And unless you are Messi or Ronaldo (Brazilian or Portuguese, either one works) there is a 99% chance you won't be good enough. Maybe after 3-4 years yes, but how many 18-19 years old players can immediately be ready to play for Madrid? Right now, none. Real Madrid are not Barcelona, they do things in a different way, and even the fans want to see players performing immediately, they don't care about the age, there is no excuse. In my opinion moving to Real Madrid at such young age is a mistake.

First Cristiano Ronald to Saudi, then Messi to Inter Miami, and now Griezmann to Orlando City. Slowly the golden generation is gone This was bound to happen; those stars have aged and are starting to struggle to compete in a high-intensity league. They seem aware of this situation. Besides that, financial issues also seem to play a role. We have seen many stars move to the MLS or SPL with quite high salaries, which they can't get in Europe. This is a common issue, I think there’s currently a lot of transition happening, with many new star players coming in, and this is bound to happen. They will become legends and icons that we can remember. Football is a physically demanding sport and has limitations at certain ages. Griezmann is 34 years old, and I think this is the right moment. We have seen even a few who weren't that old and still good end up in SPL or even MLS because they are getitng paid that much, and that's not a bad idea at all considering the amount of money they are making. Mbappe for example was offered 700 million for 3 years, he preferred Real Madrid of course and didn't go there, but these are the numbers we are talking about and I can see why that would make sense. Specially for older players who would just become bench warmers in many European teams, they are making the right decision to make this much money, it's smart and it gives them a good chance to make a lot of money. I think it's clear that without proper money, this wouldn't be possible, making ten times more is the main reason.

There are some players that even at there exist point they will still do what they are known for and griezman is among those players, yes his performance in athletico Madrid 's game yesterday was so impressive and noticeable enough that all could even doubt the news of him leaving to America but what matters in football is peace. When a player lacks peace or is uncomfortable his performance begins to drop and apart from that he is getting older and the probability that he could be that challenging as he was in his prime becomes uncertain. The only reason I think will make him have a rethink is the world Cup dream as leaving athletico will limit his chances of playing in the world Cup.

This is very much on point. Real Madrid has always been a club that houses stars and players that has proven themselves even in a very short while, but the reality is, having a young player that can do this isn't a common thing these days. I don't think I can even come up with any young top player that came from the Real Madrid academy, and currently doing well. Even a player like Gonzalo Garcia who seem to have some qualities isn't getting a decent playing time because the club already has stars occupying every position. And this is one area where I respect Barcelona a lot, although they're have a poor financial management problem. Running a club revolves round so many things which includes winning trophies, knowing how to balance the books, and also creating talents. And as for this Franco guy, well, I haven't watch him kick a ball, but for a player of such age, he needs to be on the field at this very point of his career. Real Madrid is certainly a club that most people can't say no to, but let's not forget that spending more time on the bench does not increase a player's value. Endrick made the right decision by requesting for a loan, and he's proven to us all that he isn't that bad afterall.

From what I've seen, at Real Madrid CF it's very difficult to get playing time if you're young and don't yet make an immediate impact, because the team is already full of stars. FC Barcelona, on the other hand, usually gives more minutes to youth players, even with their financial problems. And at that age, the most important thing is to play. Training with stars helps, but being on the bench doesn't make anyone develop. Endrick's case illustrates this well, and unfortunately he remains sidelined, which is very sad...

When I started watching football these players weren't even playing. Messi, Ronaldo, Griezman, they were just kids when I started watching football, I remember the old times, like I watched the 90's clearly, and I was a teenager back then. It's really feeling like I am already quit old because now there are managers who are younger than me let alone players. But yeah it's always a weird feeling to see these players grow old and slowly stop playing, the players I grew up watching all became managers.

He was very good, but he wasn't their level and if you want to talk about players who left football or went to the USA or Saudi Arabia, many more players could have been mentioned now that are as good as Griezmann. It can be said that Griezmann had a few years when he was one of the most outstanding strikers in the world, but weirdly his perfmorances began to decrease too much. He changed a lot and wasn't as dangerous and deadly anymore with his chances. During his prime you could tell when it is going to be a goal with 95% certainty because he was so efficient with his chances. In the last few years he was still a good player, but he never came close again to his prime days.

Slowly the golden generation is gone That's it, that's exactly how life is, so long as one is growing old, one wouldn't be able to do the things he used to do years back. Very soon now, this era of players will be gone from the field because of their age, so they will retire and of cause, new players will set in that just how it. The good thing is that, done of us who were oppotuned to watch and enjoy them bore witness to their greatness on field on various ways. His old now and I'm sure that's why Atletico Madrid wants to offload him to creat room for younger players to continue where he stopped. For me, it's very good especially now that they have Lookman in the squad.

He already gave so many things in the past, but he's not as good as what he used to be. So let him join that MLS club is good way to give him best club for his retirement. However, the talk is still in the progress and Atletico could also change their mind to keep him for another year. Nevertheless, that may not happen unless Orlando City offers him lucrative salary to join. I think this is the best time for him to go there. It will help atletico to reduce their salary cap at least 180k weekly. Let's see what's gonna be his choice. Sincerely speaking Griezmann has played out his prime, but if Simeone still needs his expertise, trust me he is not going anywhere, after all the likes of Ademola Lookman and other younger players are around to still make good assist for him to score, for a player like Griezmann, his experience on the goal mouth is still very need especially for a top club. However, before Orlando City would make this kind of move towards such a player and for him to accept such offer, then the money involved must be really good, because he is leaving the spotlight.

Arrival of Ademola Lookman, 35 million Atalanta buy on February 1, who has already started bringing attacking energy needed to shake up team, helps this change. I will agree that Orlando would have to pay huge money deal to get him out of fame but with world cup 2026 being held in North America, my opinion would be that this is in fact smart brand move, which leaves him at center of the footballing world. As MLS trading time closes on March 26, Orlando is rushing to finish deal that would bring Frenchman to their team as new star just before his 35th birthday.

Real Madrid are not Barcelona, they do things in a different way, and even the fans want to see players performing immediately, they don't care about the age, there is no excuse. In my opinion moving to Real Madrid at such young age is a mistake.
What you said makes sense. Real Madrid and Barcelona are very interesting clubs because despite having a lot in common (biggest teams in Spain) they operate in completely opposite ways. If we talk about the academy there is no doubt, Barcelona win hands down; financially speaking Real Madrid make a ton of money each year despite having a lot of high-salary players on their paybook. Barcelona are blessed because they can rely on all these players coming from the academy (and, of course, kudos to them, they are great at doing this job) because if it wasn't for them they would be screwed because they would have to buy a bunch of players every year.

They can still at least loan him if they can't give him minutes. It can be one of best solution to fix their young talents. Keeping them in the bench won't help much. I admit he's talented, but he's always being clueless when to pass or shoot when he was playing. So i guess he needs more times to make him getting even more matured. I can only hope Madrid to send him like what they did to Endrick. I don't see a reason for him to keep wasting his time on the bench while his club is also under conflict of interest to keep play Rodrygo as starting line up. So he needs to find a solution for himself. Beside that i also see the transfer of him is such a mistake by Madrid. If Madrid could afford to add another 20m, then they could get Zubimendi, which i believe can suit them well and give instant impact to solve their mid problem.

I see much logic in this move because Antonio griezman is no longer a young player, he is trying to secure the bag/money before his retirement. I wouldn't say that ademola lookman is his direct replacement because they are very efficient and effective when playing together, so I don't see ademola lookman as his replacement. So if he eventually leaves atletico madrid for a team in the United States during the summer, I believe that atletico madrid will look for his replacement during the summer transfer window, not by staying mute ebe taking ademola lookman as his replacement.

Griezmann is not a young player he is already above 30 and it's not that he can't play but he may feel he's probably near retirement and thinks it's better to move out of Europe to a less competitive place where football will be more easy for him and also it will be an opportunity to earn more money even with his age. Saudi Arabia League pays more and if he is thinking of securing the bag I think that's where he should be thinking of. Lookman was not signed to replace Griezmann instead he was signed to help the team but it just a coincidence that Griezmann will be leaving just after the season so everyone now seeing him as Griezmann replacement. They really play well together, I believe they will achieve more together if Griezmann has more time with the club.

I don't think age is the problem, he's 34 and lot of players still continue their career in Europe despite being in the age bracket, maybe he wants to move to where he'll get more playing time and better salary which is not a bad idea cause at Atletico Madrid they currently have younger players that would limit his playing time. The introduction of Lookman to their squad was a nice idea by thd coach cause he's contributed lots within these few period of his arrival there. Well I think it's better for Griezman to leave since the coach would mostly give younger players opportunity to stsrt and bring him from the bench.

I don't think we can really complain because 20 years ago we were used to see a lot of players basically retiring in their early 30s. Now playing in a big club until you are 35-36 years old is totally normal. I feel like I saw Ronaldinho playing for ages but in reality he left Barcelona when he was only 28 years old, and when he left AC Milan (and European football) he was only 31 years old. We are talking 15 years ago and so many things changed in the meantime. Griezmann is 35 years old, it's a good age to move to the MLS.
To be fair Ronaldinho is a bit of a different example than others, normally people do not really stop playing competitive football at 31 years old, even in the old days. Like Zidane and the whole head butt thing happened when he was 34 years old for example, and to be fair he could have still played 1-2 more years if he wanted to, but even at 34 years old that was normal age to retire back in the day. Most players didn't stop playing at 30 years old if they are good, it was only the bad ones or the ones who did not take care of their body that ended up retiring at that age. But most good and talented players went until at least 33-34 years old, and nowadays that is more about 35-36 so only a few years difference. The biggest comparison to those days in the last few years is that, when they are 35-36 they do not retire, they go to MLS or Saudi league instead.
