Long before now, it was obvious that Michael Carrick is deserving of this appointment due to his ability to stabilise Manchester United when the team seemed to be disorganised, recording series of loses week in week out especially when Reuben Amorim was incharge, when he first took over, nobody thought he would be able to turn things around but he did by surprising us all by beating all the top sides including Manchester City and Liverpool.

Reviving a team that has performed poorly in recent seasons is already a feat not every coach can do. So if Michael Carrick hasn't been able to meet fans expectations for a title, they must accept it because competing for a title is not easy and certainly requires a difficult process. If Manchester United finishes in the top 3 this season, there is a possibility that Man United will compete for the title next season.
Just look at Arsenal, who have competed for the EPL title for years. They also have a good manager, but Arsenal cannot meet fans expectations. Even this season, Arsenal seems to have failed again.

That's true, he had a pretty good time playing for them in his playing era and he did pretty well so maybe that's why he is able to understand how a lot of things work at the club so building a team to play well even with the same players other managers struggle with is an improvement. But we still need to understand that his talent and hard work as a coach should also be acknowledged because the rhythm of the team is far different from when other coaches manage them. So far Carrick has proved himself worthy of being the next head coach of Manchester United, it will be nice to see how well he performs next season but I believe if he can do well under pressure he can still do well next season.

We know that Xabi Alonso didn't make any good progress at Real Madrid but it doesn't mean that he didn't have that capacity to make something good. I think this dude didn't even know that how good Xabi Alonso is. Before Real Madrid he was the coach of those teams that were in relegation zone, but he (Xabi Alonso) carried them from relegation zone to one of the best Bundesliga team. So his performance at Bayer Leverkusen was remarkable and even deserves to be printed in great football history. Because If we look at his stats at Bayer Leverkusen, then probably it was quite impressive. In 2022 Bayer Leverkusen was on 17th place but at the end of season he drift his team into 6th place and in 2023/24 got champions and even in 2025 they were 2nd chasers. Qualifying for the Champions League doesn't mean Manchester United have to win every competition they enter, nor does it mean they have to win every competition they enter. Do you think finding a manager other than Carrick is the solution? Think again. Finding the right fit between a coach and players takes time, rather than building from scratch. Carrick is clearly the most sensible option to give more opportunities. Just because Manchester United have a busy schedule shouldn't mean they need to achieve immediate results.

Football news pages are too quick to make comments regarding this situation. There is no news about an agreement or talks with the board. This is what I hate the most. When these guys try to use expected news to make money on their pages. We all know Manchester United will sign him but in the meantime we have to wait. For the time being, this is a rumor.

They never came close to relegation. When Carrick walked in they were sixth. Clearly, still bad to United. But sixth and relegation are quite different things to discuss. The media take the last season crisis to come up with a better story.

Giving Michael Carrick the manager role fully and supporting him is a good idea and many anticipate this especially looking at his stat since he took charge and their current position with the same squad two managers couldn't use.

Although I think he should be give like two years contract and if he perform well then the contract can be increased to about three or so years.
