This is just a rumor for now and I don't think this deal is ever going to happen,  because I don't think Rashford is an upgrade to any of Arsenal's LW now and I don't also think he is a better alternative to Gyökeres than Kai Hervert. What Arsenal needs is an upgrade on the players they have and not a play on the same level, so I don't think this deal is going to materialize and I also don't think he is the kind of player that Mikel Arteta will want in his team. In my opinion I think this is just a rumor and I don't see this deal going through.

Don't be surprised that when we see some of these transfer windows open and the players we see being discussed before the period will also being considered for some of the team the are being speculated upon, for now this is just a rumor as you have said but anything can turn to be true when the conditions they meant align with each other, Rashford be a good take for a team like Arsenal to achieve more better in their subsequent performance.

^ Well, to be fair if they hang that long with ETH even with him being that bad, and they still didn't fire Amorim after that god awful season, and hang with him half more season, there is a huge belief that they would give Carrick a life contract at this point.

They have done a lot with terrible managers and they still did alright, and considering they did alright with such bad managers, it is only normal that people would expect them to do better with someone better. This is why Carrick is expected to stay.

Manchester United is not in a hurry to bring him back to Old Trafford but the issue that is holding Rashford not to become a Barcelona player is the amount involved. Martinelli and Trossard are rusty asf. They indeed need new wingers. They're calling out for Kylian Mbappe ever since that petition from Real Madrid fans. Rashford to Arsenal? That is a big joke. Even if it ever happened, he would still just rust away under Arteta, just like the two previously brilliant wingers (Trossard and Martinelli). I'm even in shock that Marcus Rashford transfer value is as low as £30 million, I was expecting it to be in the region of £50 million and above because he has proven to be a quality players over the years and his goal performance for Barcelona this season can speak for him and it's enough for Manchester United to value him more than £30 million.

Barcelona is just too greedy and think that they're smart. They want to get quality players at a cheaper rate and feels it will work for them. Because Barcelona have learned from their mistakes in the past which are wasteful in buying players. Rashford can actually return to fight for a position at United if he seriously wants to follow the coach's wishes. Of course it's not easy, it's just that the options are now limited, unless Barcelona really needs Rashford.

Rashford plays very well at Barcelona. I'm not a Barcelona fan, but he does very well; he has a lot of freedom, and he's always getting past defenders on the left wing. He also has the vision to get into the box easily to shoot, and he's scored some good goals. I don't know what Barcelona's plans are, but if Carrick asks for him, I think it wouldn't be so bad.
