Poloniex has recently announced its plans to delist 17 cryptocurrencies on May 2, 2017. This decision was recently published on the cryptocurrency exchange’s Twitter page, and has no explanations of why the Boolberry (BBR), Bitstar (BITS), Coin 2.1 (C2), CureCoin (CURE), Horizon (HZ), I/O Coin (IOC), Myriad (MYR), NobleCoin (NOBL), NuShares (NSR), Qibuck (QBK), Qora (QORA), Quatloo (QTL), Rubycoin (RBY), ShadowCash(SDC), SuperNET (UNITY), Voxels (VOX) and Magi (XMG) altcoins are going to be delisted, surprising many altcoin traders. Experts comment the prospects for these altcoins on other cryptocurrency exchanges: https://coinidol.com/poloniex-will-delist-seventeen-altcoins/Update: However, there are signs that someone knew about Poloniex’s decision to remove some altcoins before the official announcement on Twitter and has already earned some money using this situation. didn't they already delist these coins? i do my trades on bittrex so i have no way of confirming this but i remember reading 1 or 2 days ago on reddit and also on this forum that they have already removed these coins from their exchange and i remember thinking why a couple of these coins were in the list for example since i recently made a good profit by selling MYR on top of the pump.

If make sense for them if all of the alt-coin mentioned don't have a trading volume or low volume to start with. So if any one of you guys are holding you have still more than 1 week to sell it. But what if those coins suddenly jump its price and volume starts? Will still Poloniex de-list them?

About time, there's a bunch of coins that people don't really care for lurking in the Poloniex exchange..

Just checked the website itself and it indeed was there. They have announced the delisting of these altcoins. However, I don't know why they did want to delist them, but these coins still had some daily volume to them. However, the problem was that they were only used for the purpose of manipulation.

Poloniex can only hold so much of those coins just so they could dump them in another exchange. Small amounts aren't going to get them anywhere.

It will be delisted on May 2. I think this is enough time to disseminate holders about this action. I wonder why delist many coins all at the same time? Poloniex is not explaining why they delist them but I think this is due to low volume on trading and about the devs not active or no further or proper development on the coin?

This is a slap-in-the-face to the coin communities and Polo's customers.
Delisting from the busiest exchange is the kiss of death.
Polo = bittrex2.
I don't own any of those coins but it still pisses me off when exchanges take it on themselves to "end" a coin/traders after they made a shitload of money on it/them for years.
Shame on you Polo.

Cry more, crybaby. You are not entitled to control what Polo lists & de-lists. It's not Polo's fault they listed coins/tokens that turned out to be pure shit, like XC, BLOCK, NEM/NXT, jl777hodl, UNITY, SuperNET, "Bitcoin" Dark, and Dash. Although Polo should have never listed those scams, it's never too soon to dump such digital trash and clean up their exchange offerings.

You sound too much like a DOGE hater (irrational and arrogant). DASH is 5, NEM is 8 but I guess they're shit (in your bloated opinion). I don't hold any of the coins that you mentioned, or that are being delisted, but I just don't believe that YOU know better than the market. Just be thankful that your wise bag full of "The Real Thing" (whatever that may be) is not being delisted from the exchanges.

The problem with that theory is that coins such as NOBL have had pumps that have have had considerable volume. I don't know if the pumps were initiated after the developers knew their coins were going to be delisted in a vain attempt to "save" them - but I feel sorry for them if they put up their money to stop the delisting and it happened anyway.

You should have expected that, you have to keep track of every coin you are invested in or else you'll get burned in a ridiculous flash crash. Look at the disaster that it delivered on every single coin, big red candle.
They are probably making room for new coins. Im looking at PoSW, PIVX and a couple other promising projects that are really cheap at the moment.

i think delisting these trash coins is a good thing for the overall health of cryptocurrencies, it gives more room for the innovative coins to grow stronger and better.

although it is sad to see the damage to projects delisting from one exchange can make I got caught with a couple of small bags bought months ago (that i will retain anyway because this is not the end of the road for them)... the other side of the coin is to find the projects that are about to be added to replace them.

It should be like that, for the convenience of traders, and reduce the list of altcoin. The exact steps taken in poloniex as a qualified exchange, 17 altcoin in delist poloniex keliatanya have a small transaction volume.

People are missing the point.
If exchanges had not taken on every shit/scam/clone coin that came along we would not be discussing delisting. Did we really need 600+ coins? I doubt it.
Exchanges are partially responsible for the shitcoin deluge. Had they supported a few "good" coins we might be in a better place today.
Take Btc-E for example. They have always supported their small selection of coins. I see where they've added a couple and dropped a couple but they don't jam pack the place with every fricken coin that comes along.

Suspicion of Insider Trading at Poloniex: "Poloniex published an announcement that it is going to delist 17 altcoins. However, there are signs that someone knew about Poloniex’s decision to remove some altcoins before the official announcement on Twitter." -> https://coinidol.com/suspicion-of-insider-trading-at-poloniex/ and? Even if it was insider trading why would that matter? It's not like anyone is going to get in trouble, there's no regulations in crypto trading... I think people complaining about it lost buying the tops for those coins. It's not like this is something new, insider trading and all that fun illegal shit has been going on since the birth of crypto.

I think it will remain a suspicion. Whether it is true or not or simply a coincidence but the trading volume of those coins speaks for itself. I think the exchanges has the right to remove them if it is under-performing. BTW those coins can be listed in other exchanges.
