If bitcoin had 20MB blocks full nodes would have to keep more than 1tb of blockchain data, so yeah big blocks don't really solve scaling issues.
For sure it does. You could distribute the same amount of transactions just to less blocks. The size difference just depends on the overhead and the rate the blocks are filled with transactions.
And if not you would be trading storage requirements for transaction speed. Which is in my opinion a good idea since storage is cheap.
You don't only need to store the data, you must be able to access it, and read times go up proportionally with size. It's a hack, a trade off, not a solution.

A little comparison of specifications of Bitcoin and Bitcore.

That's some epic grammar right there. Cheesy "Does someone want to change shoes?" is what you were probably after.

why you always compare blockchain size. i dont understand this. yes for sure now blockchain size is very low because there are no transactions. but it will grow so much if all is used.

I think it is being emphasized because block size will not be enough very soon for more transactions, and we might have to wait for the queue to fill in the block.

Searching (which is what I think you mean especially by reading) is not exponentially nor linear. So for the next years, especially with Bloom filters, it's not such a big problem. For sure the current type of storing the blockchain is no solution for the next century, but to be true the performance ascpects of bitcore are the best which are currently out there and have already proven to work.

Looks like Bit-Z has a daily volume of 2000BTC over $14M daily trading volume and only 15 pairs before BTX, almost 2.5x volume of Cryptopia with over 1000 pairs. We're looking at an epic increase in volume perhaps value too Smiley

Will all the major exchanges support the Fork? Is there a risk that there won't be a fork? The uncertainty is killing me.

Its not a fork,..its a virtual swap.

We informed all exchangers and are waiting for their response!

Just let me requote Steve real quick:

Short news about the snapshot from today and its meaning:

Today, the bitcoin snapshot took place at block 492820!

What will happen now?

Please wait to claim your bitcore from the snapshot. We begin saturday with the chainwriting starting from the top Bitcoin addresses on till 0.01 btc addresses!

Now is the time we stress test our code and show the public what Bitcore - BTX is capable of, and what blockchain can do for all!

You will find tons of transactions soon on the explorer. Be fascinated like us and observe realtime, how our code is working... HOOOOT

So, we are on the long term run. The next two weeks can wait and wont affect your belief in Bitcore...

Your
Bitcore Team

There will be a guide release by tomorrow on how to safely claim your BTX if you had BTC during the snapshot. Please be patient until then.

Meanwhile, let's take a step towards... the sun!

Will snapshot work for both address types? Segwit and the legacy ones?

And when can I claim my new BTX via bitcore.cc? Let's hope price will not dump right after the claim is available.

I would also like to know about this because I have upgraded accounts recently. Also great news that bitcore is being added to bitZ! Never heard of that website before but it looks proper and I hope

this can continue to make bitcore rise into the champion coin that it is! Also pretty great we have cracked the top 150 marketcap top 100 here we come! Cool
