Been trying to get XMR-STAK to work for me but I keep getting socket errors.  Electroneum on MPH.

I have the right pool and port in the config.  When I launch the client it gives me this error:

Full of speculation when we wanna mine using CPU nowadays, its just like gamble I think. Try to mine coin that can be mined by cpu, low marketcap, brand new coin if we lucky enough than we have in proffit.
Last month ago I mined zoin when it was 0,02$ per coin & the diff is low. Couple month I mined it until I have 1,6k zoin, & now the price $ 1,3 this is worth & make enough  proffit for me.
So try more speculative on mined with cpu or low rig spec.  right now I mining intense coin, I thinks it has a good future

I mined the same way and was hoping it will become something. I have also around 1.8k zoin from mining even though I have been mining for awhile but I am using my old laptop for it. I don't care if it breaks my laptop but already have earned enough to buy a new one from Zoin.

use the pool etn.spacepools.org, works well by mining cpu and pays out every 10 ETNs accumulated.

I'm getting on average about 15 etn a day with an i5.

We launched a cpu only mining coin a while back. While it does have a 1 click miner built right into the wallet many of our users are asking for mining pool options.

So my question is can anybody in here recommend to me some mining pools that I could request them to add this coin to their cpu only mining choices?

I analyze it the same way, investing to mine some of the bigger coins is a waste as your are competing against the big pro. miners. But rather focusing on mining the smaller coins and using CPU just to take a small share in them rather than having to buy them trough an exchange.

In my opinion, mining is gradually disappearing into the past. For mining, you need to spend too much electricity and time. It is necessary to pass from Proof-of-Work to Proof-of-Stake.

Add to this, what is the chance of a massive data center with many super computers coming online? I think the best strategy is to mine as much as possible, hold and get out.

Abstruct
Algorithm:  YescryptR16 (GPU is slower than CPU)
Block time:  2.0 minutes
Max Block size:  2M
Block reward of block #1:  50 YTN
Total YTN:  84,000,000 YTN
SubsidyHalvingInterval:  800,000 blocks
Difficulty re-target:  every block (DarkGravityWave v3-1)
Premine:  none

In my opinion, you need to give up mining. This is a senseless waste of resourceful resources. Mining should not be used in the future.

What are you talking about. PoW is the best way to secure the network. PoS coins have yet to be established. Even ETH will encounter difficulties when/if it switches from PoW to PoS.

Resource-wise, you're right. But what the other guy said

and, it's not sensless waste, although a lot of energy is consumed for PoW algorithm. This is one of the price we pay to get decentralization.

That would depend on the chain they want to mine. But be careful on downloading alt chain softwares.

What's the difference between CPU and GPU mining? I thought it was just ASIC and CPU mining..
The difference is simply that with CPU mining you mine some algo with your CPU doing the hashing. And with GPU mining, your GPU is doing the work. And then there are FPGA's and ASIC's

Most algo's are more efficiently mined with GPU than CPU. But you can definitely still mine with a CPU.

CPU mining is very low income and it takes a lot of time to earn especially in mining BTC coins... But more patience and dedication and always remember that its a little investment to harvest in the near future why not use CPU mining. I have tried a LOT of CPU mining but the income is very low..

CPU mining is only profitable while using server CPUs. I have 2x AMD Opteron 6276, they are not too exprensive and show 480 h\s each.  You can look at used Intel Xeon to.

We can mine with CPU but I don't think it is worth for our investment and time. You can not mine a good coin with CPU and one more thing there is a possibility that you may lose your system. Bit expensive also no problem go with GPU mining it is worth for your investment.

I have been mining IntenseCoin for almost 2 months with CPU only on 5 cores and still get AWESOME profit.
If you ask me ITNS coin at the moment is the most profitable coin to mine with CPU or GPU.
Its still easy to mine, and you can still make profit of it.
Give it a try its worth it.
Check the graph stats for iTNS coin and see the recent grow over the past few months.

I will recommend on IntenseCoin ITNS for CPU miners.
Try it and tell me how it goes Smiley
cheers*
