Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

It is based on the your activity in this forum but its doesn't mean that the more you post you'll have more chances of increasing your Rank. Rank increases every 14 days and the maximum activity points you can earn when activity rank up day arrives is 14 points. Once you reached 30 you'll be Junior member and 60 Member, 120 for full member, 240 Seniors member and 480 to become a hero member. BTW next Rank Up day is May 10, 2017.

You can rank up your account in bitcointalk.org if your post and activities has a high number and with no negative trust. You can also earned money in bitcointalk if you join in some signature campaigns. Posting in bitcointalk is not that hard you just need a potential to earn money here.

Is not based on trust is based on the activity that you have. This is the calculation : The activity number is determined in this way: time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration activity = min(time * 14, posts)
Activity is updated every hour.

I suspicion, that he is merely trying different features of this forum in his posts. Which is fine for learning, I guess. As NydiaCaskey has said, there is nothing related to the polling at all in membership rank. Just time (two weeks at the time) and number of posts translated to the activity level. For every day one activity point can be earned as long as you post atleast fourteen times in two weeks. Your rank describes in words your activity on the forum without supporting spammy posting.

It has nothing to do with the number of trust. It's based on activity points. Here's the link for forum ranks --> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178608.0. Go on and read that sticky. It will help you a lot to understand how someone ranks up. But you have to understand that merely posting will not get you rank up quickly. Ranking up is based on activity points and it is given every 2 weeks. So if you want to be Legendary someday, It will take a lot of your time to achieved that Rank. Goodluck to you and hope you enjoy your stay here in the community.
