You should not worry about how expensive BTC to be used as betting currency. You can also use litecoin, dogecoin or ethereum for betting in some gambling sites.
But if people want to use or gamble using their btcs, you can't do anything about it. There are a lot of people that don't look at the price of bitcoin when they are gambling, price doesn't matter to them since what they want is to gamble and to win a lot of money.
