It is rising really quickly now and almost doubled in the last three month of the year already.
So it is even passing dash which was double it's price just a month a week ago.
So some good hope in this one to surpass all the other alts in the cryptocurrency market.

I don't think ethereum is threat for bitcoin because it doesn't have a big community that can overcome bitcoin and its price is too far away from bitcoin. The pump for the price of ethereum is just a small concern for bitcoin because bitcoin can still stand out for the cryptocurrencies because bitcoin is still the base price for them so if bitcoin pumps very high then the cryptocurrencies will go down.

I heard that the ethereum is much better than the BTC that in fact is the same as BTC but improved and that is the reason why it is rising a lot of price.

Is the Ethereum really better than the BTC? Do you believe that the Ethereum will reach the prices of BTC and even more that will surpasses  the price of BTC, or that even will replace BTC?

What are your thoughts and predictions for Ethereum ??

Regards
Honestly, I'd liked with his smart contract. But bitcoin still hold the market dominance. Ethereum can be determined as a real opponent for bitcoin itself.

But it will never surpass the bitcoin's price.

The possible thing if they can surpass the bitcoin market capitalization.
This time they growth a lot of already touched new ATH $100.
And as far as I know if ethereum has included on legal asset based on US.

I think that Ethereum is going to stay the #1 altcoin for quite a while like litecoin did and if something like Ethereum to Litecoin came out into the market and get a really successful crowdfund, then it migth take over. However it does seem unlikely that any other altcoin can achieve the status of Ethereum again because the ICO markets are already very very saturated and there are shitcoins everywhere.

I don't think that Ethereum can ever replace BTC though, simply because bitcoin is the first, and that means a lot.

You shouldn't see it as a threat from the price perspective because It means nothing, you should however see how much Its mentioned on the news, how many shops (local and online) use it, how many ATMs does it have, how active the development is etc. Bitcoin wins in all these things beside Ethereum is not meant to be an electronic cash but bitcoin is.

well i heard a lot about Ethereum this year. Even on TV and it was not about crime and money laundering Smiley
It was about universal blockchain technology wich allready use UN

It tested on electrocar charging station in Germany. I hope to see Ethereum in Tesla stations veeery soon. But not only because Elon Mask and Bill Gates are friends , but because Ethereum is digital gas.

Obviously. Its one of the strongest altcoin on market. But not that serious threat. Bitcoin ofcourse still the reigning crypto and mother of all cryptos. Price tells it all. Also supporters of bitcoin are greater than ETH. If you look at the market cap. Only time will tell what crypto could possibly replace Bitcoin.

Oh no! Don't treat eth as an altcoin! Eth isn't an altcoin. It is something different. bla bla bla

Eth is a centralized piece of shitcoin. Just like ripple.

Eth and Ripple are worse than the shittiest zero volume altcoin but people don't give a fuck because somehow they are tricked (because of greed probably) into buying those.

I have never been on reddit much, but this makes me wish there was an upvote.

I was surprised when coinbase listed ETH. Also very sceptical. Vitalik Buterin talks a very good talk, but ultimately it seems like something between the emperors new clothes and a run of the mill pump and dump with big money behind it. I think the ideas he is talking about are sound, but I see no reason why these ideas couldn't be incorporated into bitcoin, and integrate with a lot of other already existing technologies in the process.

I was tipped off when I saw an article on coindesk about a mutual fund manager who invested 10% of his net worth into crypto. He said he invested after meeting Butemin at a dinner party at his houseThe fact that Microsoft, bank of America, jp Morgan have expressed interest in it indicates to me that there is some serious big money and plenty of funds to try to pump up ETH as an alternative to bitcoin- a cryptocurrency that is easier to manipulate and presents less of a threat to big financial establishment than bitcoin.

I don't think so, ethereum has large of capitalization marketcap doesn't mean it will be better than bitcoin,
all of us know about the ETH is the manipulated chain of banksters to bail out institutional investors in the DAO accident.
It is mean the fundamental of ethereum is bad for long time, but ethereum is good be traded on exchangers.  Grin

I believe in ethereum but I have a strong faith in Bitcoin that it will stay as the number one crypto currency,Bitcoin has come along away and still going strong and adoption is very continuous, the best parameter is if you are active on facebook majority in the news are about bitcoin discussions.

Ya know it's getting really old repeating to you guys the same crap over & over..

ETH was never intended to replace or compete with Bitcoin.
Even the Ethereum supporters have said this.
Such as "Andreas M. Antonopoulos" who said this explicitly on Twitter before.

This is not an issue.
It's not going to happen and it's not even possible because of how ETH works and what it actually is.

You all need to smarten the fuck up and clue in because your being idiots.
And if you won't listen to me then listen to the fuckin' ETH supporters saying it  Cheesy

Bitcoin has it's own place in the digital currency Arena but as a platform, more and more businesses and asset token creators are finding ETHEREUM as an easier place to park their wares and because of the plethora of new tokens coming to ETH, it seems it has helped Eth to grab a bigger lion's share of the Altcoin marketcap. Can it take over Bitcoin? Only time will tell, but Bitcoin wins hands down at present as a wealth creation instrument for old timer whales.

Ethereum in comparison to Bitcoin has a higher intrinsic value (real value), it's market value (current value) will therefore inevitably surpass Bitcoin at some point

We can't compare etherium to bitcoin because bitcoin is too far from etherium. As we can see in the coinmarketcap, etheriums' market cap volume is need to thrice to reach the volume of bitcoin. So for now, there is no altcoin can compare to bitcoin as of now, maybe in the future as the time pass.

You shouldn't be so rude and hard on ethereum. Firstly, ethereum is altcoin, that is a fact nobody can deny. Secondly, ethereum has its advantages upon bitcoin (smart contracts, potential switch to proof of stake). Thirdly, it does have volume. For the last 24 hours it was $200k. I think such a coin has to be considered seriously no matter what. Nobody can pump a coin like that. This means that there indeed is some value of it just like of any other good coin like btc, ltc etc.

Etherum in recent times has actually been making some waves which is a development in the right direction but that does make it a threat to  bitcoin in all sincerity from the way I see it, its just like a young chap from Manchester United or City making waves and everybody is happy with him then we start to say he is now a threat to a Ronaldo or a Messi. Which means for me see Etherum as a threat, then there is long way to go.

Well if you want to compare then get to all the points.

1- Price
2- Development
3- Acceptance
4- Community
5- Technology

I currently think btc wins most (if not all) of those points.
I only see eth as a trading medium nothing else. It can't replace bitcoins. In fact, nothing can.
