As of now not yet, I am still seeing Bitcoin on its growth stage and right now Bitcoin has no competition and thats what the consumers are looking for, technically the consumers are still adapting to Bitcoin I don't think they are currently on the stage in which they are looking for alternatives to it which means they are not looking for other cryptocurrencies.

If it was a threat it would have been OBVIOUS in 2014 when Butter's ICO launched.
The market would have been all over it.. not AFTER it got pumped to high hell in early 2016.

So why would we be thinking it's a threat to Bitcoin after 3 years ?

While ETH is indeed close to surpassing BTC regarding its market cap (according to http://www.flippening.watch/ ) The two of these should not be compared to each other. Since they are designed for different uses
BTC aimed to be a currency in order to make transactions freely.
Whereas ETH is a token for smart contracts.

I think Eth is an extension, no threat. I think new adopters of BTC will grow faster than the convertors from BTC to Eth. I think less people will initially choose for Eth, the route is via BTC.

Ethereum is not really a threat in the sense that it does not want to perform the same functions as bitcoin, bitcoin is supposed to be used as a currency, that is its main reason to exist, but Ethereum can do more than that, that is why some call it Bitcoin 2.0 but the most known aspect of Ethereum is the smart contracts aspect.

I would agree. Bitcoin and Eth have different usage purpose. I don't think they will replace each other. In fact I think the rise will be dependent on each other. Bitcoin as a storage value and ethereum as a platform.

No, I do not think it's a threat,I do not think people will stop using BTC to use ETH,at least I do not think most do,We must remember that ETH is younger than ETH and as time goes by and usage increases,problems of any kind might do it less attractive in the future for example when there is overload in the ETH network,such as how happened a few days ago peoples complained of considerable delays in their transactions and that's just an example.

Apples and oranges. BTC is the only currency of these 2, ETH is a fascinating POC of distributed computer tailored for hosting tokens and operations with them. I believe we will see ETH/BTC go way higher for a while...
