Is Ethereum a threat to BTC???

I heard that the ethereum is much better than the BTC that in fact is the same as BTC but improved and that is the reason why it is rising a lot of price.

Is the Ethereum really better than the BTC? Do you believe that the Ethereum will reach the prices of BTC and even more that will surpasses  the price of BTC, or that even will replace BTC?

What are your thoughts and predictions for Ethereum ??

Ethereum is a threat to Bitcoin's supremacy, though its different attributes mean it will probably not replace it.

Ethereum is not meant to be an electronic cash but bitcoin is.

I'm pretty sure the line has changed to Bitcoin now being a settlement layer, rather than e-cash. I wonder what it will be changed to next?

No one can be sure Ethereum will pass Bitcoin because Bitcoin has been around for a long time. And a lot of users.
The value of ETH compared to Bitcoin is quite far.
Technology and algorithms are constantly evolving, we can not predict it and according to the needs of everyone that can change the value of ETH and Bitcoin.

I think it is far from a threat maybe a rival coin because if we say "threat" there would be a close competence especially in terms of price and acceptance in the community. No other coin even as high as half the price of BTC so not competent enough to wage war or stand a better coin than BTC. I am also wondering if anyone has 42Coin on their wallets or you own a bit of it on exchanges? As it has doubled the price of BTC a coin. Ethereum is stable and I think it is good to invest in it. I have invested in Ethereum before but I already converted it into BCH but planning to invest again with that coin.

I do believe that ETH has a potential at many good projects are under ETH. Many people (not all) trust ETH, I myself trust and believe in ETH. But we can't say that ETH is better or will even overcome BTC. Given BTC is till the at the top or let's say the king of all coins. So, as of now I don't believe that ETH will replace BTC, but we'll never know.

That right, No one has made sure whether the ETH will be better and has a higher price than BTC.
Indeed everyone almost trusts eth but it seems for years now I am sure BTC will still be on top. my opinion.

Its been a debate since ethereum make its own mark in cryptocurrency world., the two has different purpose, definition and uses, but a lot people saw a huge opportunity on ethereum, its way much cheaper and faster to mine rather than bitcoin and lot of aspirant entreprenuer and investors really depend on ethereum cause it allow people to write "smart contracts"and create more funds on thier project thru ICO.

Yeah completely true about ether and start contract relation. Today's each and every ICO is made available through the smart contracts. Due to this investors have to use the ethereum as the primary currency if they want to invest money. This leads to generation of bigger volumes of ethereum and ultimately it rises in its value.


But, this isn't threat to bitcoin. The projects are working on the other hand of crypto currency and bitcoin is operating in its different boundaries. Though ether being use on such smart level it has not been able to go beyond 1K value in any time. Bitcoin is threaten only if the price of other coins go ahead it. It's not happening at all.

If there was a specific time that ETH was indeed treated as some sort of a threat to BTC, then it was very short-lived and then it became simply an insignificant part of history in crypto. The threat has to be effectively trashed as there is no more real basis for it really.

As you said already regarding smart contracts on eth i would say one day it would really progress even more if the companies and other sectors would recognize this stuff on which comes to a point that it would be more popular on bitcoin but well no one knows since we can really predict on the future happenings.Bitcoin would still remain strong no matter what as long there are strong supporters on the king of cryptos.

Well, you may right if we're talking about both coin prices, but, how about market cap?. There's always a new project that uses ethereum's smart contract and by that, the market cap of ETH keep on increasing while in the other side, the dominance of BTC is now significantly decreasing compared to back then.
Don't you think that ETH is can be considered as BTC's most relevant threat up till now?

I don't think it's a threat. They are both revolutionizing differently:
BTC - Revolutionizing Remittance i.e revolution of digital money, transfers etc.
Ethereum - Revolutionizing Application i.e Building smart contracts on top of Eth and so on.

Both are going to flourish in the future.

Comparatively with the price wise bitcoin is being always top but recent many ICO and gambling site have been implemented with the ethereum smart contracts projects only. In this wise it is ETH more threten to bitcoin. I wish bitcoin and other fame alts to win together in price wise and other prospects.
