Not unless they fork it and reverse the destructive coin emission schedule. It seemed price and interest died off after everyone realised there would now be infinite supply. That correlation may not be correct but it did seem that way.

Great community back in its height though. Got a lot of new people interested in crypto so the community should be more positive about it than they are really.

i didn't know about what cryptohunter said about its infinite supply, that is silly in my opinion. and even if it did really have a cap, we already have a huge supply of 109 billion coins and that is enough to always push the coin down to 1 satoshi, 0.5 satoshi and final death.

Dogecoin is the best coin to learn about Bitcoin. It's cheap and very similar to Bitcoin in many aspects.
But Dogecoin is designed to produce far too many coins, making it .. not really valuable.

Next big thing? It depends on what you want to mean by "big thing". Most think of money.
So... Dogecoin was interesting, Dogecoin is still something good and useful (fast transactions, accepted in almost all exchanges, ...), but the chance to get rich with Dogecoin is pretty small....

This evaluation of DOGE is outdated. It is the community keeping the whole of crypto alive. The market has already decided that DOGE will not only survive but will also flourish as it doing right now.

You will wait forever for it's final death but never see it. 109 billion coins is nothing. As crypto grows it may not even be enough. Remember that these are global currencies.

A few weeks ago people were saying the exact same thing about LTC and now it's everyone's darling. You need to realign how you see this industry.

DOGE will be one of many cryptos that will be the future of alts, like it or not.

crypto have a lot of surprise we can't say when the price will really moon high and dodge really got it time the only problem
is the volume when the volume is decrease the value will rise up more.

I believe to much altcoins that are be created are completely or less beneficial to the market at all , we could have only single Coin and developed it or at least bitcoin with 3-5 alts rather than creating a new coin for every project.

Dogecoin is always in contention to be in the top,great history and community support,almost every exchange has a market for dogecoin,they need to just reinvent dogecoin again just like what litecoin team is doing right now.

I agree, dogecoin  needs a review and overhaul to compete in this crypto's changing world. Like XEM, dogecoin should have a very active development team.Mak easy to used API's for easier integration.

Actually I don't get it? Coins like Dogecoin don't have any further sense as being just a "coin" not like the 2nd version of coins like ETH, Waves, Ripple which actually start making sense and being a technology.

Dogecoin has a future also, if the developer of dogecoin will update it that make the investors interested on it to invest, it could reach the top 10 best market cap volume, although there are some altcoins are end to fail there are some also are  succeed and I think bitcoin will succeed because the developer has a lot of experience and reputation so it cannot be fail.

if they follow what litecoin did why not? they can activate segwit without knowing what it does and fool investors lol, but i don't think doge will ever be good again, it was a joke from the beginning and the inifnite supply isn't helping, doge becoming the next big thing is unlikely, but it's good for a pump and dump

Maybe not, I do not see any signs that can help dogecoin become the future of altcoin. I recently also heard a lot of people say dogecoin will become the future of altcoin and its value only after bitcoin but I think all of it is just fake news to increase the value of dogecoin, then those who are profitable are those who give out that information. Bitcoin is gold, litecoin is silver and dogecoin is copper, if dogecoin wants to become the future of altcoin, first it must defeat litecoin but i think that is impossible, litecoin is now very powerful

IMO, dogecoin still difficult for being invest since it still has flat value , doesn't indicate that dogecoin can be meta at the moment ( compare other altcoin such as Energy & ETH )

No. I do not think so . Dogecoin will be a normal coin because there are not special functions for dogecoin.
Although many investors used this coin for a while. It will need many new developments then we can think it again.

Fair points.   Isn't the doge community still going strong?   Seems like a few months ago their reddit page was populated with what I would characterize as fully delusional folks, which is what they've always seemed to be.

Is it the future?   No.  Is it a useful coin?  Yes.  More useful than bitcoin in some respects.

I cannot disagree more. The fixed number of coins is the root cause of Bitcoin's blocksize issues.

Edit: Ethereum Classic made a terrible mistake when they dropped the fixed block reward for a maximum number of coins.

Have you checked the price of doge coin before commenting,it is good to follow the price of the coins before commenting,the past one week there is a movement in the price of doge and remember it has a market cap of 72,981 BTC and have a daily volume of 7,774 BTC which is not a joke. If you are looking at skyrocketing alts then you must look else where,as you wont see that here,but today we have a change of 29.35% in the price of doge which is really huge comparing the price of doge coin. I am not advocating that it is the future but it is better than most of the alt coins in circulation.
