EOS has grown to 4 tb in 8 months. Only 5 BPs are storing historic state, and none of them being compensated for this on standby, leading to downtimes for apps across the network.

DAPP Network launching next week!

LiquidApps released a new article that talks about the launch of the DAPP Network and gives multiple insights of the platform.

The launch is set for next Thursday, February 26 2019!

The DAPP Network is a solution focused on scaling blockchain applications by equipping developers with the necessary tools, resources, & services needed to build dApps effectively and affordably.

Over 50% of EOS dApps are used everyday.

According to a research published on LongHash, almost 55% of EOS dApps are used every day compared to just 10% of ETH dApps.

The most popular EOS dApp has around 450,000 transactions about twice compared to the most popular ETH dApp. However the use of EOS dApps seems still low. Only 4.5% of active dApps have more than 2,000 users and 50% have less than 100 users per day.

I do not think that EOS has a lot of advantages over Ethereum but this platform is really very good. I have this altcoin in my portfolio, and I am sure this year it will gain pretty much. It is one of my favorites.

eos have not yet much advantage over ETH by my point of view but in one month EOS price really boom up because of bullish market move i think. right now EOS have two competitors ahead XRP and ETH. major announcement about developments can boost the price and eos could overtake xrp. well top top 20 coins are performing good excluding stable coins

Exclusive news: Effect.AI is moving from NEO to EOS!.

Effect.AI, NEO’s most used dApp, is migrating to the EOS blockchain! According to the company, this will happen in late April 2019.

Effect.AI cites disappointment in the performance of the NEO technology and concerns about the lack of direction of NEO’s future. After exploring several other technologies, Effect.AI has selected the EOS blockchain as their first choice.

The team initially chose NEO because of promises such as free txs and high TPS in the near future. However TPS remain 14-22TPS, furthermore NEO announced an update of the blockchain that will reboot it from the genesis block.

Effect.AI announces the move to EOS for reasons such as it being more scalable and secure, easy to iterate upon, technologically advanced, and having a great ecosystem.

Unit test EOSIO Smart Contract with Javascript.

Recently Infinite X Labs shared a tutorial on how to test an EOS Smart Contract with Javascript by using the infeos tool. Infeos is a javascript & npm based framework for development, building, testing and deploying of EOSIO based dApps. For the first time ever EOSIO developers will be able to write unit tests in JavaScript for EOSIO smart contracts.

Full-History Nodes issue and a new proposed solution.

The LiquidApps team recently released a new article on Medium explaining what full-history nodes are, what are they used for and why only a few BPs maintain them.

In the article they also present a new solution to increase the number of full-history nodes by generating a new revenue stream. DApp developers could stake their DAPP tokens toward full-history nodes service packages, while DAPP Services Providers (DSPs), could provide full-history nodes and get payed by the LiquidApps network inflation.

B1 interviews Varius Studio - platform built on EOSIO for the creation and publication of smart digital objects.

“Varius Studio is a platform for the creation, management and publication of smart digital objects such as collectibles, tickets, redeemables, gifts etc. through an intuitive user interface. The publisher can select from a set of pre-made object types and configure different attributes, views (e.g. AR, VR) and behaviors (e.g. drop-and-pick up, shareable, transferable, acquireable, scarce, redeemable) that control how they interact with each other and the end user.”

Waterloo: a decentralized practical bridge between EOS and Ethereum.

The Kyber Network team recently announced Waterloo Bridge, a new relay bridge between EOS and Ethereum. Through this implementation it will be possible to perform cross-chain transfers between the two blockchains in a fully decentralized manner.

Key enablers of this solution:
- Light client for EOS blockchain only needs to maintain a set of BPs
- Efficient algorithm to verify Ethereum PoW hash function
- Low computation costs on EOS network

What do you think will be the reaction of EOS, after Ethereum POS integration? Will EOS lose its advantage over the market? Moreover, TRON is trying to be part of the competition.
