2 hours till SegWit activation, do you think LTC will drop?

usually when some big news like this is around in the altcoin market, prices rise before the news actually come to pass (meaning before SegWit even activates!) then price enters a bubble, and this two have already happened. price has gone up from 0.003BTC up to 0.022BTC and that is a 633% rise!

and again usually prices get dumped hard when the news actually comes to pass. meaning when SegWit activates as whales dump to create some panic sells and take more profit when they buy at the bottom.

so lets hear your short term predictions here.

usually i don't check what the orderbook chart shows, but i have to be honest, i don't like what it is showing right now.



i've placed a buy order at 0.0179BTC before i open bitcointalk half an hour ago and by then there was about 100BTC sum of orders in front of me. then i saw this topic and went to check again what is happening, now there is only 35BTC sum of total orders in front of me!
of course not all of it is dump, many removed their buy orders and looks like Bids are getting thinner.

There were 16,713 litecoin transactions in the last 24 hours, which is up from recent months, but still below the all time highs of about 20,000 per day in 2014.

If after segwit is activated, the transactions fail to soar, it means no-one is using it, and litcoin will fall back to earth.

Ive got a few ltc just in case anything crazy happens but the only thing i really expect to happen is a massive dump =p. It will be interesting to see how segwit will work with litecoin though, maybe if all goes well then bitcoin will adopt it as well.

Since it's actually what comes after segwit that's important including the Lightning Network and Confidential transactions the price will continue to rise. The exception being the complete collapse of the cryptocurrency markets including BTC.

Additionally, todays news that the Chinese exchanges will re-enable withdrawals in June will put additional strength into LTC markets (and BTC).  The current boom has been based in the west with prices lagging significantly on chinese exchanges. This is about to change.

its really between supporters and fuders game now as we seen the rise im not sure if buying it while waiting for the updates to come is still
beneficial or its really fomo's moves, we need to assess it deeper to make sure that we are going to gain some profits while the train still
moving fast.

Those will sell the news. I mean we are near dump of litecoin. So, the speculators will be able to seeing the usefulnes of segwit for the community. If that really helped for the community and FOMO litecoin will be happen in the future. Just the matter of time.

Maybe, maybe not, we had already 2 drops in 2 days.

My guess, like previous drop on 15$ it will go much higher this month.

That's a very big call. I personally can't see it happening, it has a small community and no-one uses the coin.

I guess we'll find out who is right shortly!

I think it will moon to $50 and then retrace to 30 before stabilizing at 35 for some couple of months.

We own around ten LITECOINS that's all but it is better than nothing I guess. I will try in the near future to purchase a couple more if all goes well when I get paid my wages at the end of the month if it isn't too expensive that is by then.

The Segregated Witness soft-fork (segwit) includes a wide range of features, many of which are highly technical.
Cool to see this at LTC but its way overvalued for the ongoing price rise.
Yes it will crash.

I think as long as btc isn't getting LN ltc will gain more market cap long term because it's actually being developed and improving. ltc might get a correction but long term I think it's gold if btc can't get out of the miner centralization mess. Transactions being stuck on mempool and high fees make me not use bitcoin anymore. I'm still holding bitcoin and waiting for it to improve though. If bitcoin can upgrade then btc > ltc easy.

i think it will not drop, the hype for segwit is still very strong, there will be some correction this is normal, but the price will climb again and reach all new height, also litecoin in the past was very near this level or higher, reach 0.05 but the value of bitcoin was lower due to less investors, now it's the same more investors more money, and the same value will be reached
