Once the interstellarnet is established it should not be a problem to use outside our planet. I'm sure other life forms will also already be using more advanced altcoins with more advanced algorithm.

Bitcoin can be used anywhere in the world and space also. The main requirements are power supply, Computer, internernet.

There is this new project by Google it is called Loon. They have a pilot from New Zeland but it will be all over the world. They will be providing Internet from stratosphere. I am not sure it answers the OP question, but I believe that when you send bitcoins it must go through internet and if it goes through Google Loon - then it is in space!

It's really a creative idea. How do you think about it? With aliens? Just kidding.
In fact, maybe one day it will be the idea. That definitely requires more technical support.More effort is needed for human engineers.

Someone should correct me if I'm wrong.

To the little I know, every buying and selling is done where there are people to carryout such activities. There in the space, what are you wanting to buy up there with bitcoin?

Just curious, since the Internet is mostly an Earthly thing... would astronauts be able to access and transfer their Bitcoins whilst traveling throughout the solar system?

-It is absolutely yes!  because they can access the internet into their space station. The astronauts can be able to use, transfer or monitor their bitcoin investments as long as they have access in the internet. Internet is the life of bitcoin without this thing no one would access his/her bitcoin stored in digital wallet.

- Since there's no commercial establishments in the outer space, it is impossible for the astronauts to use bitcoin there.

What a bizarre thread I would say that for now bitcoin cannot be used in space but there is no need. Maybe in the future once we colonize other planets the internet may be installed there and then bitcoin can be used as an interplanetary currency, perhaps it will be the currency of mars?

an astronaut's outer space there only uses radio waves there is no vacuum of air and wind and even rain ,the reflection of the network will not be reflected and the reach of the internet can not penetrate the earth's atmosphere ,only radio waves can make a loud noise to penetrate the atmosphere and that too help with signaling speakers

Well as long as they have a device and an internet they can access bitcoin, but I think there is no WiFi Signal in outer space, so astronauts can't use bitcoin in space.

for the moment impossible it does not use it on earth how you want it to be used in space.
Yes till this time bitcoin is not fully implemented on earth and people are talking about using bitcoin in the space. May be in the future bitcoin cover all the world but at this time it is only a dream. We are trying to spread bitcoin in our local communities and those people who do not know anything about bitcoin get aware of bitcoin. First the earth and then we can think about other things.

I don't think so. What will they do to their bitcoin in space. Where they can use it. Astronaut don't need bitcoin when they are in space.

It depends on the limitations of the space station. Possible with no access to the full internet for security reasons. This is certainly not that easy. The second thing. Do you think people in space have time to analyze the price of BTC?

why not if we have internet excess we can use bitcoin anywhere may be one day a time will come when we have  internet excess not only in land but also in space and people start shifting to space if they have lot of money and there is no space on earth to stay. So anyway there should be anymeans of transaction and bitcoin is one of the best currency of the future world.

As long as you can connect to internet, you always can do the transaction of bitcoin, wherever you are and whenever you do. And I think the astronauts can use internet in the others satellites, so they can use their bitcoin whatever they want.

This is crazy. Why would they use Bitcoin at space in the first place? But the answer is yes, as long as there's an internet connection. Bitcoin is still a digital currency which can be used through the use of technology and with the use of internet ofcourse, as a platform. But I really can't understand why would an individual use Bitcoin at space.

Should be, COINS as long as in the case of a network can dig and bargain, so even if no matter where is basically can trade currency, it also illustrates the universality and convenience of the currency trading.

I think that is possible but not in this generation.Or if space stations that they were in has an internet connection(which do they have). Then if they have internet and some sort of pc or android phone then they can do transfer bitcoins from space.

I think astronauts just need bitcoin. It's good that they have internet for communication. In cold space, it's lonely and boring.
And casinos are open around the clock.
I went to pokerstars, and the cards are all at home, how to pay, how to verify?
Here then bitcoin and solve the problem. Go to the site in my signature, and relieve fatigue!
